Acfually I think John is using 0.10 or 0.09 because his strat is the jeff beck masterbuilt. That strat has a wilkinson locking nut, you can't really use heavier than .10 with the wilkinson nut because it can cause binding.

I don't know about that. On the verses maybe, but during the solos on Mayercraft and the Clapton duet he went overboard. This solo is more calculated and better for it. I can see the high overdrive as a problem during the verses, though.
