No one has sent orbiters to Neptune. Am I wrong or did Dawkins miss speak.

@nak807 Voyager 2's closest approach to Neptune occurred on August 25, 1989.

@nak807 "Science has sent orbiters to neptune." The Voyager 2 is an orbiter. And Neptune was part of it's route. So his statement is fair.

@JacksInn The Voyagers didn't orbit any thing. It's a small point so I'll leave it at that. Nasa is currently looking to fund a Neptune orbiter. Only reason I would bother correcting Dawkins on this little point is, there's more to know about Neptune that we currently do know.

@nak807 He didn't say anything orbited anything. He said "Science has sent orbiters to Neptune." Key word is "sent" not "orbit". Sending an orbiter to Neptune does not mean a successful orbit of Neptune occurred.
