Well done! an indifferent universe not made for us, inhospitable and cruel and as far as I know with no purpose. Enjoy the ride, life is beautiful and short god(s) are just cultural constructs
I love Nietzsche and Goethe, and these two men's works are one of the main reasons I chose to learn German. Very happy to see that TTA has included a quote of the man in his first ever video.
@SuperGeniusLife I'd rather go to eternal hell (if it existed) than spend eternity -- no, not even 24 hours in the company of batshitcrazy demented nutcases like you.
@kadene2 You know this fact, but the devil is really solidifies your heart.
You can insult meas much.
But if you and I are in the afterlife, then we have no chance.
The fact is, because you denied into the earth the truth of God, therefore, you did go to eternal hell.(jahannam)Whether you like it or not.It does not matter.
The fact is,because I've accepted the truth of God into the earth, therefore,I go into the eternal paradise.Insha Allah!
The Result is: Muslims have won, unbelievers are losers!
I love that part: "All religions bear traces of the fact that they arose during the intellectual immaturity of the human race before it had learned the obligations to speak the truth."
Aren't all politician do the same thing to win votes before elections? "Vote for me and everything will be better!!!"
the unthinking atheist thought his brains came from his penis and pissed his shit where his dumb ass should've known it but making the same mistakes his prouder balls withstood his stupidity & would no more partake but being smarter than both ribald heads they decided it better to roll away instead while sadly leaving your atheist the sour pussy & the better faggot that he is ;) & tho' his wickedness hoped for more we implore his balls to resolve their differences & restore his sounder reason!
Why is the Christian God correct? That seems to be very arrogant and dangerous thinking. Why is Jesus the Savior? Jeffery Damher accepted Jesus on his Death bed while Gandhi suffers in Hell. That IS the doctrine. No twisting of words will justify this.
The universe has ALWAYS existed, it doesn't need a cause. Time is a dimension that makes up the universe, causing the universe would mean basically, causing time and there is no "before time." The universe was here when earth was born billions of yrs ago, and it will be here after we're gone. Worshiping a "god" is the act of a primitive peoples and we are BETTER than that. This is the 21st century, with science, logic and reasoning ALL things are possible.
@malikidmc His book was twisted into becoming the groundwork for Mein Kampf and nazism. The same way that Karl Marx' works founded communism even though he only wanted better conditions for the average worker, which were downright horrible at the time.
@malikidmc No, he wasn't at all. Hitler found his 'inspiration' in pseudo scientific ideologies of the 19th century, Social darwinism, racism, chauvinism. In fact nazi ideology was an absurd and confused mix of smattering and prejudice, without any rationality and logic.
Nietschze's concept of the Übermensch is basically meant as overcoming yourself and abandon the weaknesses of the human spirit.
@malikidmc No Nietsche Übermensch just meant becoming the greatest of your potential by means of your own psyche, hitler just thought that all white men were the greatest, the only thing the two Übermensch - ideologies had in common were their names

@dkthg an eternal universe was dismissed by hawking and penrose as well as other scientists in the 60's. 50 years ago. there is evidence to support that the universe had an absolute beginning. the dispute now is whether god did it or nothing. you can believe what you like. the science is there, now all you have to do is use logical reasoning. physics is essentially maths and what was maths in Greek times? logic.

I just don't see how everything came to be about with out a supreme being, like God. I believe that God is and has always been here, and will continue to be here even past the end of time. Oh, and by the way, I see and feel God everyday.
I see him in the boy helping the elderly lady across the street.
I see him in the little girl who gives her toys to charity.
I see him in the young veteran who was shot in the leg but made a miraculous recovery and refuses to give up. He's with me everyday.
@yourmomsapeacock Do you also see him in the millions that suffer on a daily basis, the hungry, the poor, the sick? If God is the reason to all the good things that happen then he should also be the reason behind all the evil, and that's not a God I'm willing to believe in.
@yourmomsapeacock What you see and attribute God to it we call already with the word "good". Your brainwashed fantasy that people cannot be good on their own is what causes you to see more in what is just ordinary human activity. The same way, when a human being acts in evil way, no doubt the devil must have part in it. Still the same fantasy. The same way people used to see Zeus during a thunderstorm....
1. God is not mind control. People act upon their own free will whether they are based on the teachings of God or not.
2. I do not believe that God stops natural disasters. I am not a creationist so i don't believe that God has "hand crafted" everything in the universe. Picture the universe as a machine. God has built the "machine" and invented all of its functions, so now he is just the machine worker. I believe in science and evolution.
@savezelda you mean atheist know more about God then anyone else. You can know a lot about Zeus, if you actually study Greek Mythology, but that doesn't mean you believe in Him.
@hunyamaster69 do you think everybody in the ancient jerusalem were convinced by this "son of god"? even today we see cults rising in big cities with hundreds of members, jesus was nothing more than a cult leader. in jerusalem the majority killed him for being such a mindrapist. and then his scattered followers lied of his rebirth...
@hunyamaster69 oh well let me correct you by saying that the center of the world is iron and its pretty damm hot, and btw it depends highly on what time period we are talking about, it became "the center of the world" after the romans, thethinking atheist ment the time of the so called jesus. and sry i thot u were one of those pain in the ass christians, my bad.
God supposedly reveals himself to Abraham and Abraham tells people about God and those people assume he's telling the truth. How do you know Abraham wasn't a paranoid schizophrenic who was hearing voices in his head?
For every 100 devout churchgoing Christians in any given church setting, five or more are Atheist or Agnostic. They just don't know any other way to live, so they follow what they've always known.
@Quierame407 that is so true i use to go to church and never believed/or care to believed in god and many others do it to. lol .and i think the it's more like 100:5-20.
We are god. I am you, you are me. The biggest fraud in History was to make you believe in god so you give all your power away. Remember YOU are god. You are the planet. We are all one just like the fingers of the hand. Each is different but all connected to 1.
@ReligionIsSophistry Ditto. I tried. I really did. I went to Bible classes and stuff, I went to church twice a week. I grew up on that. Apparently, it didn't work out too well on me. I read too much. :D
@Shalionos123 Well think about it. Buddhaism isn't really a religion. Yes, it has holy text, but it's just a belief on the rule of the universe. Islam isn't hated in because it is peaceful. Christianity includes absurd amounts violance and stupidity. Islam, does not.
@xDuBx420x When the LORD your God brings you into the land you are about to enter and occupy, he will clear away many nations ahead of you: the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. These seven nations are all more powerful than you. When the LORD your God hands these nations over to you and you conquer them, you must completely destroy them. Make no treaties with them and show them no mercy.
@samweiss4 I'm not sure what you're trying to say with that post. Firstly I'm an atheist, and my post was in response to the Quran not being violent (which it is).
@xDuBx420x Continued... Do not intermarry with them, and don't let your daughters and sons marry their sons and daughters. They will lead your young people away from me to worship other gods. Then the anger of the LORD will burn against you, and he will destroy you. (Deuteronomy 7:1-4 NLT)
@Shalionos123 because hes american, not Saudi Arabian, or Buddhist, and Buddhism is a pretty peaceful religion... Islam and Buddhism don't control the US government....
The bible is constantly changed by many religions to uphold their thoughts. They change their beliefs or even their ways based upon the modern culture. The way religions have changed is depressingly sad for many of those who belive in god.
Atheists, if you had millions of dollars and knew there is no life after death, wuold you have spent it on producing retarded videos to fight something that doesn't exist or would you be outthere enjoying your little time left ???
I bet Atheists could get a lot more done about the world issues talked about in that video if they didn't view theism as the greatest evil this world throws at us
@conraddoavil I bet theists could really improve the world if they spent less time on their knees or proselytizing to anyone who doesn't believe like they do. That's billions of people not wasting their time and billions more man hours open to productive use.
@conraddoavil You know nothing about atheism if you think we all view theism as the greatest evil. It is ironic in that you state I don't understand what I am talking about when you made a bald assertion which indicates you yourself do not understand.
As a former believer who deconverted after reading the bible I know the theology better than you might think.
@micometer well I didn't mean to sound bigotted or anything. I used to be an atheist, and I'm projecting what I used to do versus what others do, so if I sounded rude I'm sorry.
@conraddoavil How did you used to be an atheist? Did you fall for someone's idea that could have been logically and rationally dissolved? I suspect you were never informed of the facts when you converted to religion. You converted to a system that can't prove anything within reality. You converted to a belief from a bronze age illiterate society. I hope one day you research the facts and wake up from your self subjected mind prison.
@conraddoavil I wished I was a teenager again my name has birth year, should explain enough :). I have never suggested believing what all scientists say. That would be very irresponsible. It's called researching and learning what's out there. Apparently you believe a lot of scientists in your everyday life. Next time you go to the doctor don't accept any medicine if you can't believe what scientists say. Just sayin :)
@csbarnett1975 I never said I don't trust scientists, but their are big questions in life that science cannot answer, and it's dangerous to suggest it does.
@conraddoavil I would never say cannot answer. They just haven't answered them all yet. They most likely won't answer all the big questions in our lifetime or the next. I'm not naive enough to suggest such. I never said you didn't trust them. But hey if you just want to pick and choose what you want believe go for it. As long as your beliefs don't interfere with anyone else they will be fine. :)
@hmspinaforethisisspa I guess it's His way of showing us what power WE have; enough to resist something so old and powerful as satan. If we don't resist, and we DO get corrupted, He offers forgiveness so we're safe. If He got rid of satan, we'd still be puny and worthless.
Nice. Just like the good book says: There has to be a falling away before the great and terrible day. Falling away = Atheism rising. Falling away from the truth... right into the bottomless pit.....
@Kabenny10y religion is on the down fall and its about time religion has forced it self onto others since it was created its like me saying IM SMARTER THEN YOU AGREE OR DIE
@moopism Great, yet another quote taken out of context.
Still, you have a point. Allow me to clarify: Satan set the practice of evil in motion; he introduced the concept (belief). We've kept the ball rolling (fact), which may actually be worse (belief). We only have ourselves to blame for our behavior (fact).
@asparagusoffice errr god's more powerful than satan though right? So why doesn't he just dropkick that mo'fucka and stop him corrupting all us puny, worthless humans?
Ever wonder why we have to learn about religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) from people from the Middle East? Why doesn't God showed himself to rest of the world? Are we not that important?
Ever wonder why those 3 religions are very similar? Who copied who? It's like a patent dispute.
The sad thing is, religious people will say, God works in mysterious ways. Nice save.
"God's divine plan is to remain invisible". And so does my prayer.
that's true for America, but I live in Australia and religion isn't very huge here so we don't get many billboards in general. Many religions can crush things because they're organised. The shows that are on TV here generally promote religious values, but constantly discredit organised religion
@FORTHEification That's a very good question, one I can't completely answer.
Other beings created evil... us among them... but primarily a guy called Satan started it. We've perpetuated evil, because we choose to for the rewards it brings. God INDIRECTLY induced its creation, and from it, we have something to fight against and test our character towards. I guess for that, He was willing to let it exist? I don't know. All I know is that if He were an idiot we'd all be screwed.
We all have doubts, doubts will come :0( but it really sad to me that you dont have a relationship with God, i wish i could give you my relationship with him for one day, he's awesome.... Ask God to remove your doubts, ask him to purify you and really mean it, I'll be praying for you guys and i hope and pray that you all will share the same peace, joy, contentment that only God can give :0) Whatever your decision will be, God is so Awesome his "love" switch never goes off, experience him today :0)
@Deedee112788 That's all well and good, I have nothing against christians but the major flaw in asking people "without a relationship with god" essentially atheists, to go out and give it another try means that they have an idea of what god is that they accept. Atheists reject the belief and concepts of gods and as such they can't attempt a relationship without first becoming a theist. Also I can think of a few instances where his love switch was off but that's a different story
@JaymesDelatoure thanks for replying jaymes, well, i respect your response, and i pray that everything goes well with every endeavor you partake, im so sorry for your past experience, ive had some rough ones too but ive been through it all until i finally had to just go back and surrender so, i know where you are :0( i prayall goes well for you, and whether we agree or not we're all sisters and brothers and just like you were my brother, i pray all goes well for you God bless you :0) & thanx
@Deedee112788 I'm not 100% on where you get your info on me... But none of my past experiences have affected my views on god. Simply a lack of convincing evidence. So yes, you can go pray that's nice to do, but I doubt it will have any real effect. Of course I mean that in the best of ways.
@Deedee112788 well, im sorry if u took offense but you clearly wrote "Also I can think of a few instances where his love switch was off but that's a different story" that's what i was referring to
hey everyone, i just so happened to run across this page and with all honesty,i totally respect you for your willingness to prove your points. I so happen to be a young lady who has been on my christian journey for a while and I've tried just giving up this journey soo many times because i wasnt "seeing God" but also I realized i never really gave God ALL of me. Please give it another try, really study the bible and develop a personal relationship with him, he's awesome i promise love you all!!
Is it not true that areas in the third world are plagued by poverty? Is this their fault? Are you saying that those afflicted by terminal illness just aren't praying to the right god? Is having our homes destroyed by earthquakes, fires, floods and incredible wind simply a manifestation of our own evil? Or is the simpler answer, that some things are out of our control, too hard to stomach for one who believes in an omnipotent deity?
@ThePatientMuslim all i want to do is see how people like the video yet all i see is you rambling on about nothing.. the fact that you need to try and prove your god in 782634984 paragraphs shows how insecure you are in your faith
You are more preachy than any fucking jehovah's witness or mormon. People can believe in what they want. There is nothing wrong with believing that the human race has some sort of meaning
@Davar6969 Actually, you're rather misled thinking that TheThinkingAtheist is more preachy than mormons/jehovah's witnesses - they go door to door, blasted across televisions and billboards, while this is a video on youtube that no one is forced to watch. This video is easily escapable, while religions hold political power and control laws, directly affecting our lives.
I don't have anything against religion until people start hurting other people in its name. Believe what you want.
@LeaveLikeTheSane you're not forced to watch or listen to mormons or jehovah's witnesses either, you can close the door on them like most people do, or you can turn off the television. Religion holds control over laws because, face it, the basic teachings of religion isn't that bad. Religion has influence in politics, but I wouldn't say it controls it. Just about every television show rips on religion these days, how do you think that influences the viewers?
@Davar6969 You make a good point, but let's put it this way: Religion is the elephant, atheism/lack of belief is the mouse. The mouse is much less visible than the elephant and couldn't do much of any harm to it at all. The elephant is huge, almost impossible to miss, and could crush things/the mouse easily. Yet the elephant is afraid of the mouse.
Also- going door to door and being blasted over billboards is not easy to escape. Some shows make fun of religion, but more promote it.
@asparagusoffice God created us. If we are evil, then that is primarily his fault. If he existed and was perfect, then he would have created humanity to be AT LEAST less evil.
How are the plagues our fault? Unless you believe that we are punished for not doing what God said to do - which is evil and controlling.
I have to add on my previous comment, it's funny that how all atheists always hold onto one thing. There's so much "bad" happening, how can an omnipotent God exist yet let it be? You're mixing personal feelings with the belief and you don't even want to find out why is this all happening, it's just one more reason to leave the religion. For you. And then to blindly slander them all because of what Christianity is.
@ThePatientMuslim Well just what is the point of God making us knowing that we would suffer? Why bother? Did He get bored? Could He not create some sort of divine game console to entertain Himself with? I would rather that He didn't create us in the first place in order to prevent all the pain and suffering. Any good that has happened throughout history does not compensate for all of the evil that has occurred throughout history. The only logical explanation is that there is no God.
There are plenty of other reasons why God almost certainly doesn't exist evil is just an obvious one everyone can understand. Of course we want to know why bad things happen and we do with most things. Murder can be forged by jealously or hate. We know how earthquakes occur and how tornadoes are formed. None of which is to do with God in fact there's no sign he is even there other than man made stories of a prophet and angels none of which can actually be proven to be true.
@gentlegiant80 Actually a real religion from God, can be proven true. Not only by personal experiences but even by the means of science. Rational thought and logic, real religion includes rational way of thinking and science. The one which is trying to hide something will "fight" against, rational way of thinking and against science. In the end there's nothing bad or nothing good that happens, it's what needs to happen. We just call them good or bad things that happen, why? Because when
@gentlegiant80 something "bad" happens we only view it as bad because our personal feelings. Like wars, when the other side is winning the losing side thinks it as bad, the winning side on the other hand holds it as something good. Things like these are nothing in the end, they will happen as they're meant to happen and so will the things take place till the judgement day. People highly regard Christianity as the only true religion and it's because of that, why so many atheist is narrow minded
Where is the rational thought in God. I can't see it anywhere perhaps you could provide evidence or examples of this? No? Didn't think so. Also Christianity is the only true religion? Every other religion would disagree although all religions are almost the same. Also you say we are narrow minded? You said when truth is discovered it is to be accepted regardless of what others say? God isn't a truth it's a belief and I constantly question my beliefs because they're important
@gentlegiant80 It is a belief, as is yours too. You just believe the opposite of which I do believe in, right? What comes to the evidences and examples, about the examples I'm not so sure, but evidences can be brought up. And what comes to blind faith or belief it's of no use, to anyone. I used to question myself a lot, now thankfully I have come into a conclusion. I found what I was searching, the proofs and all that matters. Because once you know the truth, for 100% surety. There's no way
@gentlegiant80 that I could live as if I wouldn't know. But that's the task for each of us, search for the truth. Question ourselves when we see a reason in it and if we doubt then we must educate ourselves. To what you said about God, yes it's a truth. 100% Truth it's not easy to find the "clues" but the proofs are in many places. There's an extremism in religion and that's like a recognition of blind faith, people just believe without knowing why. Some wish to know the miracles and signs of
@gentlegiant80 What is the proof for God's existence? Well there's quite many, I could claim that were the living and most seen proof of He's existence. He's word which is eternal, it was revealed to a prophet almost 1400 years ago. Yet it sounds like it was written just yesterday, the things that are written in there are so present. Some things we can see that they happened, some things have started to happen and some things that will happen. But if you want proof, I can try to give them to you
God. Nothing is meaningless, everything has a meaning and life sure has a meaning. I don't consider myself as any more better than anyone else, I can consider myself "lucky" and be thankful for that. I don't have time for pride or to brag about myself to anyone, I'm just like you are. We both bleed, we die, we live, we love and we enjoy, we cry, we sorrow. Although these things may seem different for the both of us, I see them in a different way, while you see in them the another way.
@ThePatientMuslim My life has meaning, and I am an Atheist. We assign the meaning ourselves, whatever we choose it to be. Whether you believe in a god or not, your life is the same. The fact of the matter is, you cannot see hear or interact with god in any way, except for a percieved "feeling" people seem to have, which is easily identifiable as hallucination or imagination. I "felt" god when I was religious, its not proof of anything.
@kilroy055 Of course your life has a meaning as you live it. The feelings and emotions can be produced by many, but even the studies point to direction of God more than the other way. Yes I do agree with you that "feeling" something doesn't make it so or that it would be the only proof of it. We can feel many things, yet people don't understand them as we do, because it's we who experience something. While those who haven't experienced the same cannot say to know what we're meaning.
@kilroy055 Love can't be seen, it's a feeling that is inside of our minds. More or less so we can't ever explain it reasonably, we cant see it, touch it or hear it. Yet it exists, right? I'm not taking this as an "proof" or "evidence" that God exists, I'm just reminding that there ARE things which we can't understand or explain through our senses. Don't you agree? Peace.
@ThePatientMuslim , you are making an assumption that science cannot objectively quantify human emotion and behavior. I do not understand why theists feel "love" is such a knock-down argument, in the god debate, it is an argument from ignorance. Every behavior has its biological origins, and as such can be measured and explained by scientific inquiry.
@ThePatientMuslim Well, technically, we can explain love reasonably. Love is an instinct that drives us to protect our children and our loved ones, and thus ensures we reproduce. I'm not trying to make love cold or mechanical, I recognize its beauty, but there are scientific explanations for these things. I dont think knowing why something came about scientifically detracts from its beauty. A rainbow is no less impressive when you look at it as a light beam split apart in a single water droplet.
@kilroy055 Rainbow is something that can be seen, the things that form it can be noticed. Whereas the love is completely unknown or could you say "invisible" for us, still there are people who don't love yet they protect. Our feelings in the main hand can't be completely explained, they remain as something invisible and untouchable for us. Of course we can tell what it causes, what are they for or so we think. But where do they come from? Is it something that's derived from the life which we see
@kilroy055 or something much more deeper? But as you technically explained love, can't God be explained in the same way? When we "feel" Him, that we're conscience and aware of Him? It's an basic instinct that whenever we go into a certain situation we come to call the greatest name and wait help from Him. Some atheists that I know have came upon such a situation, yet they've never changed their ways (nor do I judge them). Nor do I say that all of atheists have gone through such and such
@kilroy055 situation, but still. When we come upon a situation that's too hard or too scary we come to call upon God. "If you help me get through this, we do this and this" usually people tend to forget this plea after they've survived through the incident. My friend though admitted saying this, but silenced about the fact after saying it loud. I don't know what he's head has inside of it, nor what he's heart contains. But it could be explained as "basic instinct".
@gentlegiant80 God. Nothing is meaningless and everything has a meaning, life sure does. I can't consider anything to be meaningless, as everything that there is has an beginning and an ending. And I could never consider myself to be higher of someone else, it's God who decides. We only see this day, yet what lies after tomorrow? Death? Who knows what there is, the new day may be brighter to you than it may be to me. If we do see the new day, at all.
@gentlegiant80 Proof of God's existence has been with me the most of my life. I wasn't raised in a religious house or family, neither did we speak so much about the religion(s). Still I had faith and believed that in the end something or someone started all this. What we now know to be life, it's such a marvelous thing. As I have grown I have seen yet more things, such simple things yet they are of great value to me. But to the proofs there's the one inside of me, it can't be used as a proof.
@gentlegiant80 Why do I believe in God? I can say that I've always had the belief, yet I wasn't raised in a religious family and my family was mostly Christians, few atheists included. But I had always this belief in God, that it's not like the Christians say that God is one but still in three different personalities. It was too illogical and it didn't seem to be something that you could call rational. But for God's existence, there's the Qur'an which I can hold onto. It's the greatest of
I wasn't raised in a religious family and mostly my family were christians? Ok ignoring that the Qur'an is a book written by man no God included I really like Harry Potter but I don't think he's real and saved me and my race from racist wizards. Just because we don't know where life orginates from doesn't mean you can fill the hole with nonsense that you've believed since a child.
@gentlegiant80 Arrogance doesn't suite anyone, yet you tell that Qur'an was written by a man? Qur'an was only spread through preaching for the first 23 years. There were no single errors when the prophet recited the Qur'an, never. He memorized it and after he's death it was put as a book, written so that it would be preserved. Wish how you wish, it doesn't change the facts.
really you're talking to me about facts? you've subscribed to alex jones and regardless of whether the Qur'an was spoken first or not it was still made by man with man' beliefs not Gods. Also there are plenty of really religious Christians just look at the Westboro baptist church.
@gentlegiant80 Not all are baptists, what comes to your claim about man making a religion which really didn't change he's position during he's lifetime, then it's up to you. There are few facts in the characteristics of Muhammad, salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam, that really do contradict your words. He was held as a trusted person, even among he's enemies. He was the perfect example for all human beings. Peace and guidance, if God so wills.
I wasn't saying all Christians are really religious I was saying they weren't all not really religious. Muhammad clearly wasn't perfect as no one is and the Qur'an is clearly very subjective just as almost every other account about him is. In Romance of the Three Kingdoms Liu Bei is described as a benevolent perfect ruler but we know from real historical documents he wasn't. Anyway I'm tired and blind ignorance just makes me angry so I'm going to go sleep now good night.
@gentlegiant80 If you know there's a great difference between a Christian and a really religious person. So that was what I was referring to, if you didn't understand it.
@gentlegiant80 proofs, yet in the Ayats (verses of the Qur'an but in translation means, signs) of the Qur'an there's further proofs for God's existence. Some or could I say, many deny them. They believe that these things could have been known to the people in those times. Especially if one did know the people, but there's things like. The womb of women, how the fetus is formed, what this all that we know as universe was before the "big bang", where does the life originate from and such things.
@gentlegiant80 But for now, I have found the proofs which I need to know that God really exists. There's no more doubt in my heart as there used to be, I questioned myself like most of us do. I educated and found out things that I never knew before, thanks to what I have learned I am what I am. And now that's the main reason for me to believe in God, as I have found the needed proofs to it. To be certain of the fact.
I don't just believe something and follow it forever blindly claiming others to be ignorant. I question myself every day to validate my morals and beliefs with logic and rationality where is the logic in God? Finally most be consider war to be bad in general. If you found out your father had a disease and was paralysed permanently until he died trapped in the coffin of his own body would you think this is part of God's plan and that it means nothing? things meaning because they are important to us. I accept one day I'll die and be forgotten but I still want to live and feel and experience things because it matters to me. Maybe you think your family and life is meaningless but I don't and quite frankly if nothing matters why not just kill yourself and go to heaven now? I know it's considered a sin but would God kill you for wanting to meet him sooner? Actually looking at the Bible he'd kill for a lot less than that...
@gentlegiant80 towards religion and religious ways. In the end when we find the truth, we come to embrace it. We no longer care what others say, even when they're mockeries would hurt our hearts. Truth is to be accepted, if one is wise and has an opportunity to do so. If not then it's another story. But many do live in denial, among Muslims and among other religious communities. Peace.
@ThePatientMuslim The "bad" happening in the world had nothing to do with why I left religion. When I was religious, I figured it was all part of "god's plan". I left religion because it isnt true, and I dont want to live a lie.

Well we can't blame the present Christians but those who know the truth of what happened should tell it to others. If people believe in something that was completely forged by men, it's of no use for them. Peace.
Thinking atheist(s), you ever thought that there are religions other than Christianity? Christianity is mostly corrupted by the "message" of Paul and by the emperor Constantine. Both of them added things that never before had foothold in Christianity. From Paul came the "son-hood" and from the emperor the all known "trinity". Jesus, alayhi salam, never preached about such things, they were added to Christianity and forced on the Christians on those days. Who didn't believe in it, had their
Why the serious music and dramatic images if Christianity is just a belief? If it's just a belief, it's not hurting anyone, right? It's as if "The Thinking Atheist" has to repeatedly keep proving that God doesn't exist to himself and other atheists.
@haleygarst I am not trying to proove or disprove the existence of any kind of supernatural eternal creator god, but how can any serious music and dramatic images possibly surpass the horrors of what "just a belief" has justified in the name of religion through history?

@malikidmc No, he wasn't at all. Hitler found his 'inspiration' in pseudo scientific ideologies of the 19th century, Social darwinism, racism, chauvinism. In fact nazi ideology was an absurd and confused mix of smattering and prejudice, without any rationality and logic.

I see him in the boy helping the elderly lady across the street.
I see him in the little girl who gives her toys to charity.

2. I do not believe that God stops natural disasters. I am not a creationist so i don't believe that God has "hand crafted" everything in the universe. Picture the universe as a machine. God has built the "machine" and invented all of its functions, so now he is just the machine worker. I believe in science and evolution.

@FORTHEification That's a very good question, one I can't completely answer.
@Deedee112788 That's all well and good, I have nothing against christians but the major flaw in asking people "without a relationship with god" essentially atheists, to go out and give it another try means that they have an idea of what god is that they accept.
Believe what you want.

gothmog96 3 months ago
@LeaveLikeTheSane you're not forced to watch or listen to mormons or jehovah's witnesses either, you can close the door on them like most people do, or you can turn off the television. Religion holds control over laws because, face it, the basic teachings of religion isn't that bad. Religion has influence in politics, but I wouldn't say it controls it. Just about every television show rips on religion these days, how do you think that influences the viewers?
Davar6969 3 months ago
@Davar6969 You make a good point, but let's put it this way: Religion is the elephant, atheism/lack of belief is the mouse. The mouse is much less visible than the elephant and couldn't do much of any harm to it at all. The elephant is huge, almost impossible to miss, and could crush things/the mouse easily. Yet the elephant is afraid of the mouse.
Also- going door to door and being blasted over billboards is not easy to escape. Some shows make fun of religion, but more promote it.

ThePatientMuslim 4 months ago
@ThePatientMuslim Well just what is the point of God making us knowing that we would suffer? Why bother? Did He get bored? Could He not create some sort of divine game console to entertain Himself with? I would rather that He didn't create us in the first place in order to prevent all the pain and suffering. Any good that has happened throughout history does not compensate for all of the evil that has occurred throughout history. The only logical explanation is that there is no God.
iMagUdspEllr 4 months ago
@ThePatientMuslim
There are plenty of other reasons why God almost certainly doesn't exist evil is just an obvious one everyone can understand. Of course we want to know why bad things happen and we do with most things. Murder can be forged by jealously or hate. We know how earthquakes occur and how tornadoes are formed. None of which is to do with God in fact there's no sign he is even there other than man made stories of a prophet and angels none of which can actually be proven to be true.
gentlegiant80 4 months ago
@gentlegiant80 Actually a real religion from God, can be proven true. Not only by personal experiences but even by the means of science. Rational thought and logic, real religion includes rational way of thinking and science. The one which is trying to hide something will "fight" against, rational way of thinking and against science. In the end there's nothing bad or nothing good that happens, it's what needs to happen. We just call them good or bad things that happen, why? Because when
ThePatientMuslim 4 months ago
@gentlegiant80 something "bad" happens we only view it as bad because our personal feelings. Like wars, when the other side is winning the losing side thinks it as bad, the winning side on the other hand holds it as something good. Things like these are nothing in the end, they will happen as they're meant to happen and so will the things take place till the judgement day. People highly regard Christianity as the only true religion and it's because of that, why so many atheist is narrow minded
ThePatientMuslim 4 months ago
@ThePatientMuslim
God isn't a truth it's a belief and I constantly question my beliefs because they're important
gentlegiant80 4 months ago
@gentlegiant80 It is a belief, as is yours too. You just believe the opposite of which I do believe in, right? What comes to the evidences and examples, about the examples I'm not so sure, but evidences can be brought up. And what comes to blind faith or belief it's of no use, to anyone. I used to question myself a lot, now thankfully I have come into a conclusion. I found what I was searching, the proofs and all that matters. Because once you know the truth, for 100% surety. There's no way
ThePatientMuslim 4 months ago
@gentlegiant80 that I could live as if I wouldn't know. But that's the task for each of us, search for the truth. Question ourselves when we see a reason in it and if we doubt then we must educate ourselves. To what you said about God, yes it's a truth. 100% Truth it's not easy to find the "clues" but the proofs are in many places. There's an extremism in religion and that's like a recognition of blind faith, people just believe without knowing why. Some wish to know the miracles and signs of

What proof is there that God exists?
gentlegiant80 4 months ago
@gentlegiant80 What is the proof for God's existence? Well there's quite many, I could claim that were the living and most seen proof of He's existence. He's word which is eternal, it was revealed to a prophet almost 1400 years ago. Yet it sounds like it was written just yesterday, the things that are written in there are so present. Some things we can see that they happened, some things have started to happen and some things that will happen. But if you want proof, I can try to give them to you
ThePatientMuslim 4 months ago
ThePatientMuslim 4 months ago
@ThePatientMuslim My life has meaning, and I am an Atheist. We assign the meaning ourselves, whatever we choose it to be. Whether you believe in a god or not, your life is the same. The fact of the matter is, you cannot see hear or interact with god in any way, except for a percieved "feeling" people seem to have, which is easily identifiable as hallucination or imagination. I "felt" god when I was religious, its not proof of anything.
kilroy055 3 months ago
@kilroy055 Of course your life has a meaning as you live it. The feelings and emotions can be produced by many, but even the studies point to direction of God more than the other way. Yes I do agree with you that "feeling" something doesn't make it so or that it would be the only proof of it. We can feel many things, yet people don't understand them as we do, because it's we who experience something. While those who haven't experienced the same cannot say to know what we're meaning.
ThePatientMuslim 3 months ago
@kilroy055 Love can't be seen, it's a feeling that is inside of our minds. More or less so we can't ever explain it reasonably, we cant see it, touch it or hear it. Yet it exists, right? I'm not taking this as an "proof" or "evidence" that God exists, I'm just reminding that there ARE things which we can't understand or explain through our senses. Don't you agree? Peace.
ThePatientMuslim 3 months ago
@ThePatientMuslim , you are making an assumption that science cannot objectively quantify human emotion and behavior. I do not understand why theists feel "love" is such a knock-down argument, in the god debate, it is an argument from ignorance. Every behavior has its biological origins, and as such can be measured and explained by scientific inquiry.
nerhu59 3 months ago
@ThePatientMuslim Feeling is a sense.
SlaughterMeister 3 months ago
@ThePatientMuslim Well, technically, we can explain love reasonably. Love is an instinct that drives us to protect our children and our loved ones, and thus ensures we reproduce. I'm not trying to make love cold or mechanical, I recognize its beauty, but there are scientific explanations for these things. I dont think knowing why something came about scientifically detracts from its beauty. A rainbow is no less impressive when you look at it as a light beam split apart in a single water droplet.
kilroy055 3 months ago
@kilroy055 Rainbow is something that can be seen, the things that form it can be noticed. Whereas the love is completely unknown or could you say "invisible" for us, still there are people who don't love yet they protect. Our feelings in the main hand can't be completely explained, they remain as something invisible and untouchable for us. Of course we can tell what it causes, what are they for or so we think. But where do they come from? Is it something that's derived from the life which we see
ThePatientMuslim 3 months ago
@kilroy055 or something much more deeper? But as you technically explained love, can't God be explained in the same way? When we "feel" Him, that we're conscience and aware of Him? It's an basic instinct that whenever we go into a certain situation we come to call the greatest name and wait help from Him. Some atheists that I know have came upon such a situation, yet they've never changed their ways (nor do I judge them). Nor do I say that all of atheists have gone through such and such
ThePatientMuslim 3 months ago
@kilroy055 situation, but still. When we come upon a situation that's too hard or too scary we come to call upon God. "If you help me get through this, we do this and this" usually people tend to forget this plea after they've survived through the incident. My friend though admitted saying this, but silenced about the fact after saying it loud. I don't know what he's head has inside of it, nor what he's heart contains. But it could be explained as "basic instinct".
ThePatientMuslim 3 months ago
@gentlegiant80 God. Nothing is meaningless and everything has a meaning, life sure does. I can't consider anything to be meaningless, as everything that there is has an beginning and an ending. And I could never consider myself to be higher of someone else, it's God who decides. We only see this day, yet what lies after tomorrow? Death? Who knows what there is, the new day may be brighter to you than it may be to me. If we do see the new day, at all.

@ThePatientMuslim
Just answer why you believe in God? What proof is there?
gentlegiant80 4 months ago
@gentlegiant80 Proof of God's existence has been with me the most of my life. I wasn't raised in a religious house or family, neither did we speak so much about the religion(s). Still I had faith and believed that in the end something or someone started all this. What we now know to be life, it's such a marvelous thing. As I have grown I have seen yet more things, such simple things yet they are of great value to me. But to the proofs there's the one inside of me, it can't be used as a proof.
ThePatientMuslim 4 months ago
@gentlegiant80 Why do I believe in God? I can say that I've always had the belief, yet I wasn't raised in a religious family and my family was mostly Christians, few atheists included. But I had always this belief in God, that it's not like the Christians say that God is one but still in three different personalities. It was too illogical and it didn't seem to be something that you could call rational. But for God's existence, there's the Qur'an which I can hold onto. It's the greatest of
ThePatientMuslim 4 months ago
@ThePatientMuslim
I wasn't raised in a religious family and mostly my family were christians? Ok ignoring that the Qur'an is a book written by man no God included I really like Harry Potter but I don't think he's real and saved me and my race from racist wizards. Just because we don't know where life orginates from doesn't mean you can fill the hole with nonsense that you've believed since a child.
gentlegiant80 4 months ago
@gentlegiant80 Arrogance doesn't suite anyone, yet you tell that Qur'an was written by a man? Qur'an was only spread through preaching for the first 23 years. There were no single errors when the prophet recited the Qur'an, never. He memorized it and after he's death it was put as a book, written so that it would be preserved. Wish how you wish, it doesn't change the facts.
ThePatientMuslim 4 months ago
@ThePatientMuslim
really you're talking to me about facts? you've subscribed to alex jones and regardless of whether the Qur'an was spoken first or not it was still made by man with man' beliefs not Gods. Also there are plenty of really religious Christians just look at the Westboro baptist church.
gentlegiant80 4 months ago
@gentlegiant80 Not all are baptists, what comes to your claim about man making a religion which really didn't change he's position during he's lifetime, then it's up to you. There are few facts in the characteristics of Muhammad, salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam, that really do contradict your words. He was held as a trusted person, even among he's enemies. He was the perfect example for all human beings. Peace and guidance, if God so wills.
ThePatientMuslim 4 months ago
@ThePatientMuslim
Anyway I'm tired and blind ignorance just makes me angry so I'm going to go sleep now good night.
gentlegiant80 4 months ago
@gentlegiant80 If you know there's a great difference between a Christian and a really religious person. So that was what I was referring to, if you didn't understand it.
ThePatientMuslim 4 months ago
@gentlegiant80 proofs, yet in the Ayats (verses of the Qur'an but in translation means, signs) of the Qur'an there's further proofs for God's existence. Some or could I say, many deny them. They believe that these things could have been known to the people in those times. Especially if one did know the people, but there's things like. The womb of women, how the fetus is formed, what this all that we know as universe was before the "big bang", where does the life originate from and such things.
ThePatientMuslim 4 months ago
@gentlegiant80 But for now, I have found the proofs which I need to know that God really exists. There's no more doubt in my heart as there used to be, I questioned myself like most of us do. I educated and found out things that I never knew before, thanks to what I have learned I am what I am. And now that's the main reason for me to believe in God, as I have found the needed proofs to it. To be certain of the fact.
ThePatientMuslim 4 months ago
@ThePatientMuslim
We're human we give
gentlegiant80 4 months ago

things meaning because they are important to us. Actually looking at the Bible he'd kill for a lot less than that...
gentlegiant80 4 months ago
@gentlegiant80 towards religion and religious ways. In the end when we find the truth, we come to embrace it. We no longer care what others say, even when they're mockeries would hurt our hearts. Truth is to be accepted, if one is wise and has an opportunity to do so. If not then it's another story. But many do live in denial, among Muslims and among other religious communities. Peace.
ThePatientMuslim 4 months ago
@ThePatientMuslim The "bad" happening in the world had nothing to do with why I left religion. When I was religious, I figured it was all part of "god's plan". I left religion because it isnt true, and I dont want to live a lie.
kilroy055 3 months ago
throats slit. Nowadays people don't even bother to find out what happened and why the beliefs are what they are these days.
