It WAS irrelevant ,or that argument doesn't belong on this particular video..there are stripper like dancers that have popularity and don't get this criticism....I've been watching Randa from a link and I know now that she is adventurous with her costumes but so are alot of women, so I forgive her, it's not like she's ACTING like a loose woman ,she is very real ,and is there enjoying the music as she dances.
I don't care how good a dancer is, too much skin is not attractive. So many steps are about the EFFECT of the step, and it is not attractive to see the mechanics of the step. Besides, too much skin makes it too stripper-like. The dance is SO much more than that!
why do i have always the feeling to see the little sister of dinah while seeing randa? is this the style-all cairoan dancers are dancing now? but dandash or katia for example are different..
Fantastic video - and if you want to study with some of the musicians and dancers (tho sadly not Randa) or just 'shop and bop' come to the Farha Festival in Newcastle 27th -29th July check out the farhatour website
Just a note again to say for people watching that the male dancer is Mohamed Kazafy from Cairo doing the fabulous Saidi stick dance. Also the url is wrong at the end of the clip - it should be farhatour not farhafestival. If anyone wants to join us at the festival you can get tickets from the web site or call me, Kay for details 0191 519 0305
Yes, you're right Randa is simply unique and her style is unique and she is a great teacher, the best ever. Thank you very much for this clip, it is my favourite one.
In a word: FANTASTIC. Randa Kamel is fantastic. Her band and her natural Egyptian improvisation is superb, true Egyptian art. Thanks for sharing. Keep them coming!
Hi Mark - thanks for getting this on You Tube - it looks fab. For anyone that wants to know, the Saidi dancer is Mohamed Kazafy & the tannoura is Sayed Amar. The singers are Safaa Farid & Hebba with the band, Fer'et el Negoum. If you want to find out more about them, the festival or order the full DVD, the site is: farhatour, not farhafestival. Thanks Kay

The focus at the event was certainly the amazing dancing rather than the amount of skin, which i would say was irrelevent....

@highroadnow
have to agree. The dance is de-mystified by that.

I wonder how long the 2 ladies in the video have been dancing? They make it look so easy!

Ah, now I see that it is also mentioned in the first comment.

OK, I found the correct web site which is not the one at the end of this clip. Use "farhatour" instead of farhafestival.

Is it the same dvd sold by Dahlal as "Cairo Nights the Farha Tour at the Liverpool Olympia"?
sbarack 4 years ago
No - that is with Dandesh. This is Newcastle, UK, with Randa.

The web site mentioned in the end doesn't work.
