  • man hell yea i wanna see mr wave vs mr wiggles in their prime

  • Since Beatstreet, the camera view of Mr.Wave... I Thought, Man Awsome... And This Still Cool. My Favorite, Mr. Wave... Guam U.S.A.

  • dAMN lOOKIN AT tHIS sHIT mAKE mE mISS tHE 80'Z

  • Mr.Wave KNOWS HOW TO GET DOWN MAN...

THAT WANNA DANCE JUST LIKE HIM..HES SOO THUGGISH AND HANDSOME

  • mr wave killed it as usual, he was the hardest from the crew

  • I was so hurt in the winter of 1986 to find out that I was the only B-Boy that still was breaking and popping in my whole school. It was sad and hurtful how the media told black and hispanic youth that it was over, and we fell for it , and abandoned it on the east coast for 20 years .

  • You and me both for us here in NZ people either went to reggae or Metal,me and a very few others still mantained the flavour staying tru to hip hop but i knew those who gave us shit there kids would know a good thing when they see it...and they did

  • I was hurt too in the WestCoast the Club where all the bboys used to go all of a sudden every stopped going, the dress code changed also it was horrible.

  • ur chino???

  • only a true person that was a part of this culture could make that statement. so fucking true. i remember it. but be glad that we were a part of the moment as it happened . now its a global thing but we had it in our own front yard. peace love.

  • It wasn't the media alone G . It was crack too.

That shit took over full blast that year.

  • Yusuf: Not only the media but personally I think what really didi it was breaking hit a top at the time, Bboys werent coming up with new moves it was all repetetives moves I remember going to the last competition and guys that were unbeatable weren't breaking cause they knew already what all the other guys were going to do and visa versa so it got old and boring until early 90's when they stepped up to next level and now it is what it is.

  • Damn as a old school b-boy I gotta say that's a good point. I never thought of it like that.

  • Seriously its true thats how i felt and all my buddies bboys from school we came to a point where there was nothing else to show in a battle same old combination and that was it.

  • at the event in canovanas sunday there were b.boy's from all over puerto rico and the world it was realy packed

  • no one wanted nothing to do withb.boyin after 85 couse they let the mainstreem media dictate to them what was in ! you don't here the media sayin ballet's played

  • Javy:Pex was ahead of his time when break dancing started but once breaking took off i think towards the end he slowed down as far as having moves and never developed exciting power moves.

  • pex lives out here in Puerto Rico he was dancin in a event yestrday

  • The best!

  • These niggas was hard...respect...

  • they already have halos back then. damn...

  • C'mon Man! Nobody Had A Crazier Windmiull Than Lil' Lep!!!

  • anybody got some "Glidemaster" vids??

  • Mr. Wave was nasty!

  • Those fuckin' adidas suits are bad as hell. I wonder what's up w/ these cats now, if there still livin' and all that....

  • im thinking that too someone tell us are the originals still doin tours etc?

  • ebony: the originals are in a nursing home with the exception of pex and icy ice their last appareince was in 2000

  • can someone post the full video to this.

  • awesome....they were all good but I alwasy thought Pex was the smoothest and Lil' Leps footwork and swipes were incredible.

  • yep i agree cbr. pex was phenomenal as was lil lep. float and chino were high quality too although they weren't in beat street i think...did they join later one...

  • chino WAS in beat street he has a headband on at the roxy battle

  • im sorry i didnt make myself more specific, "Action" was usually reffered to as chino, not while he was bboying but on the block and amongst family so i might be confused

  • VERY CLASSIK. FLOAT AND CHINO WERE BEASTS BAK IN THE DAY. FLOAT USE TO TRAIN WIT KID FREEZE, HE WAS THE BEST BBOY WAY AHED OF HIS TIME ... KidSmooth SFR 1982

  • By far my favourite clip of these guys was there more to this when they appeared on Good Morning America? icey ice was Dope,NYCB ahead of there time

  • DAM dat SHit Was Tite!!!

  • god, i miss the 80's. i think the 80's was the best time ever. dancing was hot girls were more pretty and hot ,people in genaral were just nice. today tecnology just gotten fun out of life and people just suck the forgot how to enjoy like, it seems like money is more important to them. people life is toooooo short enjoy your self.

  • mr wave was a beast.

  • yes he wasssss......dame, im from those days

  • Kid Freeze fro the Dynamic Rockers was also one of the best. He was the first guy to do a continuous headspin.

  • pex was my favorite of all nycb, he was allways trying to have a better turtle than bucky from rsc.

  • yup, Pex was probably the best bboy in the world back then, but buck4 did have a bit faster turtle

  • I disagree, Float and Chino from Incredble breakers could outdo Pex anytime. Don't get me wrong pex was good, but Float, especially, had too many ill moves and combinations.

  • Never heard of Float and Chino at the time.

  • Gold95: For what i've seen in all the videos the only move that Chino had was the windmill, dont get me wrong it was the best especially doing it from standing which it was very rare at the time!

  • he did do alot of millz in his NYCB performances but to his credit he had a mean uprock and footwork i have seen early footage where he did headspins various bboy freezes and flips bboys back in the days had too many issues as far as anyone else biting moves and not showing too much off in fear of copycats probably one of the reasons it died so fast

  • gdamage:Chino said via myspace that he had mastered his head spin and swipes without hands which he did in beat street i still dont know what move whats that and that he also invented the 1990 but for somereason they always edited his moves. PS.are you familiar with "OZ Rock"old school bboy from the westcoast?are there any clips of him around? thanks

  • gdamage, bboying never died out, the media died out on bboys.

  • Probinder: Its true but its not how it was in 1982 to 1985 everyone were battleling in school,at the park everywhere it was a fever then all of a sudden in 1986 everybody stopped breaking and didnt want nothing to do with it.

  • Which Chino are you talking about?

  • We are talking about NYCB correct??????? there is only one Chino here!

  • @bricks69 Icey Ice was the best (in the group) in my opinion. The NYC breakers were good and deserve props for being pioneers. However, their individual routines were repetitive. With the exception of Icey Ice and sometimes Flip Rock, you knew exactly what each one was going to do. Naturally, after awhile, it became boring.

  • LOL! look at Pex in the background with his overexaggerated dance moves, he must watch this now and turn red! hahaha

  • pex still dances on the regular I know him personaly and he is a very humble dude and takes time to teach kids moves

  • I never knew this existed!! FANTASTIC!!!! Mr Wave was killin' it!!!

  • Unfortunately, I never got to catch this performance, same with Prince Ken Swift rocking on one segment of the Mike Douglas show.

  • You got that right maze70 !

Man I miss the old school days!

This stuff today is not what I call breaking!

  • I agree with ya, i used to be a breakdancer myself in the early 80's todays breakdancers they only have very few new moves, NY city bboys and Rocksteady crew not only were they the best but their moves were so smooth!

  • it amazes me how something so positive and inventive like this could have been in the media mainstream for only about 2 years (circa 1983-1985), but some bullshit like gangster rap that portrays violence and has very little talent can get so much media hype for so long.

  • maze70 - enuff respect to your comments. I often think the same thing. i am sick of this nigga gangsta rap bullshit and cant understand why its been around for so long. its about nothing positive and sounds shit whereas breaking was the most exciting thing to happen to me in my life and many other people's lives yet it did not last too long.

  • i agree 100

  • Jay you should make a breakdance video while rappin lol.

  • ha ha nikitobu...maybe 20 years ago but a little too old now, but i can still do a windmill into a backspin into a headspin so i still have it...but i am getting a little old now..

  • I swear!!! Real Hip Hop is something they have been killing for years.

  • i love it!

  • Dope video man.
