This is totally a racist ad. You're right. It's spoken from voice of a presumably white Western American man putting on a Chinese accent. I see this as the audio equivalent of blackface. Quite interesting to analyze, however.

This wasn't supposed to be "racist" (at least, not at the time this was produced in 1958)- the "Chinese" dialect was right out of the 'Charlie Chan' movies, which was shorthand for what most Americans thought Chinese people sounded like....and there's a sly wink towards that dialect at the very end {"Is pretty good commercial, no?"}. If this were rendered in "Jewish", "Swedish", "Italian", or "Mexican" dialect, would it sound as racist?
