To be honest, I was a bit reserved when I first heard the tracks from this album, but it's really grown on me! I had the privilidge of meeting Anita recently- really nice lady, great scat singer. Thoroughly enjoyed this!

Sounds quality is not brilliant here (maybe just my computer though!?) but see her live and you'll get major goosebumps! Such amazing control of her voice.. An asset to jazz and a joy to hear. Highly recommeded!

im sorry but this is terrible. why not just listen to lee morgan? the head is terrible, such a poor quality to the voice. the only reason people like scat singing is becuase they think, wow that would sound good on a tenor/trumpet. and putting lyrics to amazing solos by genuine jazz solos, jesus christ, someone please explain the point!

Scat singing has always been controversial - clearly the original solo (Lee Morgan's is great)..but it takes a lot of skill to sing a solo= no keys, no buttons - ie.Jon Hendricks! My hat is off to Anita for her journey and her quality of musicianship. RV

@prandall240 I just took a vocal Improvisation class with Anita. It was just wonderful. She broke down how to scat singing. The point is that the voice is an instrument and to go beyond traditional boundaries of what people think that the voice is capable of is really quite amazing. You really never know what you are capable of doing until you push yourself.  Her scat singing is amazing.
