To anyone learning how to control a throttle wheelie! Watch this video from 5 seconds to 8 seconds a few times making sure to focus on his arm and wrist. Bring the bike up to 6,000 rpms, back off, give FULL throttle and the front tire will float up to you. Once in the air, feather the trottle slightly and ride her out. As soon as your confortbale with first gear, back off the trottle slightly and pop it in second while feathering! A little back brake/more throttle you in one for days! sweet vid!
@carlstuartgamble few months practice now, and have to say its A LOT easier to do clutch wheelies then power wheelies, accelerate fairly hard (not full throttle, but enough) and pop the clutch, she should come right up, and its much more controlable then power wheelies. this vid shows exactly what i mean ( watch?v=7SdYn551buo)
i wan't this bike so bad, been dreaming about it for a year now. but im not even 18 yet. i can only ride a bike like this when im 21. gotta wait more then 3 years... also heard that the 1000 rides calmer then this. iv been told that the 750 is more aggressive then the 1000, is that true ?
@Miguelsr1rst 750 is too fast for first. My buddy got a k5 gixxer 600 for his first bike and it scared the shit out of him. He didn't even wanna go on the freeway for the first 6 months. You really don't need a 750 for your first bike. 600 is plenty fast enough
@oVoLaTiLex i hear you on that, but ive seen pro riders say that it all depends on the maturity of the individual as well. the famous argument that the bike will only go as fast as you make it go but i hear the 750 is the perfect balance with power and handling?
@oVoLaTiLex i got a gsxr 1000 as a first 4 years ago, loved it ... its all in the wrist bud you can ride a 600 like a 1000 or you can ride a 1000 like a 600 doesnt matter its how to give it throttle what counts, although I now ride a 750 because they are just so much more fun
@g2malton Hmmm thanks for your input. I really want a gixxer 600 but I've heard the 750 is the sickest bike ever! A 1000 is just too expensive for a high school kid who makes 500 bucks a month lol
@oVoLaTiLex Not true bud, My first bike was a 750. Everytime you go out on any bike, the rider dictates how the ride is going to be. Getting a 750 was perfect, learning the trottle control, slinging the bike back on forth around twisties, the 750 can do it all. Power wheelies in 2nd gear no problem, or, just cruising it, taking it easy like your on a 600. Ever motorcycle besides is fast enough, it just all depends on how bad your trying to scare yourself while having a good ol' time.
@Miguelsr1rst the 2k7 gsxr 750 is a good first bike for people with patience. I bought the 750 as my first bike in 09 and been riding it since...never even rode a bike before. no falls(thank God), no drops(knocking on wood), i'm good but i do advise one to take a motorcycle course.
hello mate impressive wheelies, i been learning wheels on a bandit 1200 n its easy to get the front wheel up at 5000 rpm and snap it goes up, but on my 750 it doesn't go up when i snap it in first gear, dnt no if im giving enuff gas but dnt wanna flip the bike. someone told me to get to 6000 revs release a tiny bit then bang snap it up! what would you recommend mate
@darkknight17 hey! at the middle of seat....try to do it sitting near the tank or at the middle because at the back it could go up too fast and you can lost control...it's all about balance point, but first you need to pop up the front wheel...try step by step giving more throttle to get used to that feeling...
Hey! I was out today on my R1, I did as you said.. It came up maybe 2 inches from the ground.. As soon as the front wheel came up it would come back down and the front wheel was not straight. Need more practice and need to keep my front wheel straight as possible. I think I was holding the handle bars too tightly which is why the front wheel was landing bent. Do you hold the bike handle bars very lightly to keep the wheel straight?
Peak power on my R1 is 5,000RPM when I give more gas.
@darkknight17 more practise and will be much higher, starting your training do few runs on 1st gear hard acceleration to used to it ... don't hurry...you need to feel the bike and control it to avoid crushing....see my other vid on 600cc K6 (it was my second training of doing wheelie)....I hold the handel bars lightly but I've stock steering dumper and I'm lightly pushing the tank by my knees....
Thanks for your reply my friend.... I watched your other GSXR600 K6 video too.
I am really impressed with your wheelies and I HOPE I get that good.. How long did it take you to learn? Can I ask one more thing.. Do you pull on the bars to get the bike up when you throttle it? And how much throttle are you giving it when you snap the throttle? Half throttle? Or more?
Thank again :-) If I get good this summer, I will post a video response. Ha ha ha
@darkknight17 it takes me about 2 weeks (about 7 trainigs....) I snap about half- 3/4 of throttle and don't pull anythink! relax, get focus and snap :)...sit like at normal riding position...
i dont know how to controll the landing my fear to get a hard landing on the front wheel and to go down i can only pull the front wheel about 1/2-1 wheel size up dont know how much is that in feet i am from europe :D can only tell about 40 cm my fear is when i get higher and be to high and use the rear brake to get down realy hard and loose control or is this wrong ?
it's not easy to fall back :) when you feel that's bike start feels lighter and you move your head left or right to see road ahead you are close to the balance point...when you feel that you are really fall on your backs just close throttle or gently use the rear brake, but wacht out once I have got brutal landing and nearly I fall by front wheel...slowly step by step you need feel comfortable with that feeling and controling of bike.
i am amazed! i own the same bike (gsxr 750 k6) but i have no idea how you do that. i see that you use the throttle (and no clutch) in 0:07 like a madman , but that does not have the same effect when i do it with my gsxr. maybe it is an issue with your weight? i weigh about 85 kg.
i own a gsxr750 k8.i do powerwheelies and have never tried to clutch it yet.i always thought clutching was more dangerous? i can hold the powerwheelies up fine
@drestyleny i would rather watch somebody or myself do a 3 or 4 gear long (starting from first) power wheelie any day that somebody doing a bp wheelie... not saying that bp wheelies don't require rediculous skill but they just don't entertain me like a 200 km/h + power wheelie
Great video love your Gixxer. Would you mind posting instructions on your technique for power wheelies? I have a gixxer 750k6 but sometimes I sit too far forward and the power finds it hard to lift me and the bike.
Does the man look out of control to you? Because he looks very in control to me in each and every single wheelie. So please.. Save the SQUID comments.
