ive started on both metroid and super metroid. (currently stuck in super) i didnt like the original from first impression because it seemed every area looked virtually the same and i couldnt navigate worth crap. i quickly ended up in an area where every enemy killed me in 1 or 2 shots and it stopped being fun to play. i can actually find my way around for the most part in super metroid when im not stuck. graphics are considerably better too imo in super.

@shadowsa2b Super Metroid came out almost ten years after Metroid, to explain the graphics. If you're having a tough time, try Metroid Zero Mission for GBA. This has an easy mode, and maps. It is by far the easiest 2d Metroid. Plus, it is a remake (more or less) of the first game, so you will understand the story better.

@xboxdylan1 metroid zero was a remake of the original with the added bonus of playing as Samus in her zero suit which showed where she landed after zebes which is just backstory leading up to I believe Metroid Prime.... That's as far as I know.... anyone who knows it better just correct me.

Super Metroid is a fantastic game, the only thing I didn't quite like was how you have to hold a button to dash, I like in Zero Mission and Fusion how you just automatically dash.

@SoraOwnsAll8745 the reason why the dash function was "fixed" on the GBA was because the handheld was lacking the necessary two buttons. What I hated with Zero Missions & Fusion was that you can't re-assign buttons. I AM Left-handed for God's sake & it was very difficult for me to keep the R-button held down :P

@azorazan Yes, the Virtual Console on the Wii is the easiest way to get it. Although, if you really want it, there are emulator and rom sites where you can get it, but it's not perfectly legal if you don't own the original cartridge, so I wouldn't go there if I wasn't too sure about it. Although, if you don't actually own the SNES or the Wii for that matter, then roms are your only choice.

Well, to be fair in Corruption's difficulty, Hypermode is quite difficult, and with that it has the hardest final boss of any of the Prime games. I hate how much damage Dark Samus can do in that mode.
