  • It is a great kit, wish I bought it instead of the roland td4.This module is fucking awesome! Roland still has them beat with the mesh head drums. But these are better than the rubber pads. And if your any kind of DIYer,you can convert them to mesh.I did,and there great.

  • Better than Epro live

  • Sounds decent but Clavia pwned this 20 years ago.

  • Sounds crappy compared to 2box..

  • @thecocreator88 2box is 2000 this is around 1000

  • The people who are complaining clearly don't understand what tweaking a drum kit is. Learn about it.... lol

  • The guy speaking is MLB pitcher Scott McGreggor's son, Just saying.

  • Allesis sucked. I played one and it just stopt the sound when i played a fill.. Roland is 100 times better.

  • they put all the stupid fucking sounds on there when half the consumers just want a couple decent drum kit sounds

  • ive tried this kit at guitar center many times. it looks sweet, but the heads arent bouncy at all, its like hitting blankets. and the symbols are loud and feel terrible. i feel like im going to break them or my sticks on them. ive read all overthis is a "OMG SO COOL" kit and isnt very good except for its looks. is that true?

  • RAZAMANAZ A SUA MANEIRA ver youtube

  • 2:42 I AM FUCKING TRIBAL ARGGGGHHHHH

  • i have problem whit my alesis dm 10 almoust evry time i hit the crach the tom2 pad makes a sound :S anyone know why???

  • @retopyra set the cross talk send of your cymbal, and set the crosstalk receive on the tom 2. you'll need to take off the copy protection on your sound module first. Refer to the manual.

  • 2:40 this drum kit also comes with a free blowjob

  • for help just ask me cuz i got it and had problems

  • Comment removed

  • He's like a rabie or a priest :D

  • lol the drummer

  • shame the pads are tiny and the cymbals are rubbish

  • @JoshTinkler no and no

  • Comment removed

  • @androaide the dm10 x is much better

  • @androaide ???

  • can someone tell me how to get my drums to sound like they do at about 1:43?

  • @abfirstr8 I dont have a drum kit but I think hes just hitting the toms....

  • I'm interested in picking this up so that I can actually play my drum tracks for music I make in Fruity Loops. Can I use the sounds that come with the module in Fruity Loops somehow? How accurate is the recording via USB MIDI?

  • I'm an advertising Creative Director. Stuff for Apple Computer, etc. And yes, some of you who have commented on the video BEYOND the actual set are absolutely right. That Product Specialist is a Dweeb. And the drummer, while good, turns me off as an emulation of most drummers. So let's toast the company for giving all of us a really nice set for a price that puts Roland to shame. Hmmm.... Maybe I'll send my resume to their Marketing Department! Rock On! Doug

  • This is their flagship model.. Its £700 Roland bottom of the line drums, the td 4 cots more than alesis' flagship model, hahah

  • am i the only one that finds the intro freakin hilarious?

  • It's called the Roland td20!!!! Nothing compares to Roland, Alesis ain't even close!

  • Also, +1 for the rape face the session drummer keeps doing, -10 for wearing a waistcoat with jeans.

  • Hm, this kit looks nice although I think I'll go for the USB Pro + Superior drummer combo, then add a continuous hihat pedal for like £40.. providing the surge cymbals on the USB pro have choke capability.

  • CHECK OUT MY DM10 PRO VIDS

  • So the drums we hear in the first demonstration at the beginning is from the sound module? because it sounds great, particularly that snare! A top kit in my opinion.

  • wats the difference then the studio kit? besides the cymbals

  • can this kit be set up for left-handed players such as myself?

  • @kfsfkakf yes

  • @angeriod Good. I know this is a little off topic but I believe that electronic drums should sound electronic and not recreate acoustic drums. It's not the same to me

  • @kfsfkakf well u feel that but its depends on the person. I want the drums to sound awsome like Acoustic but it would nice to have some eletronic stuff which ever drum has know what im saying :P

  • @angeriod I prefer they have interesting sounds like a percussive synthesizer if you will. Then you add so many more sounds to your kit than you could have originally

  • @kfsfkakf ya. But u just get superior drummer and u got unlimited amoutns of drum kits.

  • please talk faAAAster! this is frckin boring

  • How do you record on the kit? Im still not sure how to use the kit and i got it end of october!! Also - Is there a way so i can play with out the headphones? i've tried to plug it into my brothers amp, but because i have carpet, it doesn't sound right. Is it the carpet or its not a very good amp?! :S

  • Toms look a bit small, a lot of people are looking for a second kit / practice kit to have at home. And used to maybe 10", 12", 14" or even bigger. I'm guessing these are two 8" and two 10". Also, How loud are the cymbals since they're made out of metal. I'm personally looking for something so I can practice in the middle of the night with a 3 year old sleeping in the next room pretty much...Also, in the module, do the perc trigger outs enable expanding? (Maybe a crash and a tom more or so?)

  • @JerryBeatFreak get the alesis DM10 non pro

  • Oh my god this looks amazing. Anybody here who has one of these things? Would love to hear about how it feels.

  • This dude took speech class way too seriously...he sounds like a big douchey over-articulating robot.

  • I Might As Well Get An Acoustic Starclassics. The Electric Just Doesn't Have That Feel

  • i love this kit

  • Can you add toms and cymbals?

  • I can't decide between the Roland TD-4KX2 or this one. I absolutely love the mesh heads on the TD, but the brain is so inferior to the Alesis. Has anyone tried this? How are the heads?

  • @Vaurion well if i can tell you that the td has the mesh heads but not these great cymbals. if you had the alesis and you wanted mesh heads you can add them. but if you have the roland you cant add the real feel cymbals.

hope this helped you. check out some video's about the costume mesh heads.

    greatings.

  • This guy talks so slooooowly, like people are as slooooooow as he is.

  • td20sx destroys this

  • Hello Alesis guys, I have a few questions. Can the DM10 play head, rimshot and cross stick on the snare pad at the same time like Roland and Yamaha modules? Can the crash play two zones plus choke (bow and edge)? Can the ride play three zones plus choke (bell, bow, edge)? Can the hihat play zones (bow and edge)? The DM10 looks like a nice product overall, however I've been unable to find clear answers regarding my concerns. Thanks!

  • can you add another cymbal to this drum kit?

  • I think I know what I am replacing my v drums with. I paid the same price for me TD 9(?) about 4-5 years ago. How many pads can you expand the modual to? Are the v drum pads compatable? prob not that, but that would be cool since i have 5 v drums already.

  • hey guys! what do you think is the best digital drum set this our roland TD-4KX? :)

    sorry four my bad english.

  • i want this kit so badly but i just got laid off :(

  • 1:12 .. "BUY THIS FREAAAKING KIT"

  • This or the TD-9KX2 or the TD-4KX2?

and whats the difference between those 2?

and can you add extra pads to them?

  • @yyz71 K? so your not a drummer that makes sense. I would fall in love with ezdrummer as well, but I PLAY the drums. Thanks.

  • Could you move things around to make it a left handed kit? I've been looking all over and cant find any info to see if you can. If anyone knows please respond.

  • @MrManPerson21 Yep you can! You can do whatever you want with this kit, it's easy to modify ;)

  • I just can't decide. This or the Roland TD9K. I get both at the same price.

  • @dylanphelan roland td9k is much better. better sounds and better pads

  • @wardaddy99 I ended up getting the td9k - I couldn't find a music store that had the Alesis dm10 set up. I tried a dm5 pro and the mylar heads made a lot of noise, so this wouldnt work at my flat.

  • I just can't decide. This or the Roland TD9K. I get both at the same price.

  • how would this set compare to an acoustic set for concert play

  • I dont get how people give this guy thumbs up when no one has even tested this equipment? K! go ahead and spend thousands of dollars on a roland. You will continue to be in the none competitive market for the most expensive crap in the world. Where Alesis is a competitive market. Thats why they are competing. People make me sick with there "thumbs up" and haven't even tested this drumset.

  • @goblinondrums I own one and i love connected with my ezdrummer.

  • how are the pads differernt on the studio kit? is it as realistic? And Can u use double bass on it?

  • how are the pads differernt on the studio kit? is it as realistic?

  • how are is the drum kit to sit up with perfect sound reaction.

  • ROLAND TD4-KW OR THIS?

  • isn't this the product specialist from akai??

  • 1:10 bald face o.o

  • Hi guys!! how much does this kit cost??? in euro please.. :D and why there are not videos with dm10 express kit???? thnx

  • I hate how that guy talks... like he is trying to explain rocket science to 2 year olds...

  • dude, the face the guy makes at 1:10 is toooo fucking much hahahaha

  • sorry alesis, roland can out do u twice cause they got everything youve got and theyve also got tap sequences. u cant beat roland in sound, realistic feel, expressiveness, structure, and quietness. the only thing u beat them is in price range.

  • @stormingsharks Thats kind of important though... Roland could make the greatest e-kit of all time but if no one could afford it then what would be the use? People have limitations.

  • Great looking kit, but not sure about your vest... lol.

  • I own the Alesis DM10 Studio Kit and can say that it is everything they say it is and more. Nothing comes even close for the price. It took a lot of time to get it set up and fine tuned out of the box but once there it plays like a dream. I've even made a few of my own E-cymbals to add on (4 in total) and still have some room to expand. 10/10.

  • hey there

im looking for a electronic drum with a deep low sound

    please help me

  • @MackBarrow I have found out that as long as you remove any stereo effect a sound has, you can assign it to any 1 of the 4 outputs!

  • My burning question about the DM10 is about the outputs actually. Can you assign the sounds to Main L/R and Aux L/R to create 4 discrete outputs as you could do with the DMPro?

    thanks in advance!

  • @booshmeister63 I wanna know this too

  • is it possible to add cymbals ?

  • awesome kit, i'have me Im gonna have me 3 or 4. But the guy needs to change his dress to be more relational to the audience.

  • 1:11 that guy gone kill us!!! hehehe....

  • omfg... pause at 1:12 XD

  • can i use double bass with this?

  • @jessyka89music yes.

  • This Eric guy...does anyone else feel the need to kick the shit out of him and feed it to the little prick afterwards? I do...and then a little torture...nothing fancy...just small cuts on his balls and wire every cut to a battery while i drop lemon juice on them little cuts...

    nothing fancy.

  • @thehornypuppy Wow man go get some help you sound scary

  • Getting mine this week :D!

  • does this kit have to be hooked up to a computer to work and have the sounds

  • @devilray222001

Yep you can. I did. Better snare feel and response. Check out hellfires dm10 mesh upgrade. Just cut the foam to let the wire out instead of de-soldering and re-soldering like he did. 5 min £5 job.

After 3 months of constant playing it's all still in great nick.

Stock heads are single ply Mylar but it's like a real drum shell so you can put on whatever you want. I hear remo pinstripe work well.

  • Hi guys

Check out my alesis dm10 pro kit covers on my you tube channel.

All I've done is a non solder mesh head swap and a little tweaking of trigger and voice settings.

Current vids are on a custom kit as above but using internal sounds as the basis.

    Leave me feedback ta.

Oh and Alesis.....any chance of some gigs or some free stuff for advertising your kit?

Or maybe just ship me 2 more pads and cymbals and some merchandising. Ta

  • lo, the face at 1:12

  • I WANT ONE!!!!!!

  • wait doesn't the e pro live do that

  • @freestylefilmsinc e pro is a rebranded dm10

  • 1:11 jesus he looks pissed

  • so do you use a 1/4 Y-adapter to split a trigger input?

  • they shouldve made the snare a mesh head and the rest mylar. i say tht mesh heads are great for snares but mylars are good for toms and bass drums.

  • @ShadowHero360 You can use your own preferred choice of heads with this kit. If you like the kit, pick one up and put a mesh head on the snare.

  • @AlesisVideo Yeah and to do that you would pretty much much have to Mod the Snare, you cant just put a snare mesh head on and have the same feel

  • @AlesisVideo is it possible to fit mesh heads to all of these drums without damaging any of the internal electronics?

  • @ShadowHero360 heck no dude, mesh heads suck. u can barely roll on them.

  • anyone got this kit? ive been playing for around 4 years, bought a gretsch catalina and then realised at home an acoustic kit is way to loud... a whole lotta money down the drain :(

am looking at saving up for one of these, i cant go much longer without having a kit at home, even tho itll take me months to save for this.. the cymbals look like a great idea, i hate those solid black rubber things on other kits! anyone got any good/ bad words about it? cheers

  • @mishmoshwash Ive had this kit for a few months now and I really like it. I play around an hour a day more on weekends and after 3 mos every thing is holding up well. It plays and feels very good, rockin out with head phones on you forget its not an acoustic set. I had been playing a Tama rockstar custom for the last 12years and I feel ver comfortable with this kit. One problem is its a bit loud acoustically,it prob wldnt be a problem in an apartment during the day but later? bang on books to C

  • 1:11 Look at his face:D

  • this is pretty much a roland kit just cheaper :L

  • im sorry but the guy whos playing the the drums arn't even plugged in when hes playing lol

  • @987654321adam its to make the kit seem less cluttered so ppl would want t buy it more though for such a low price this is remarkable

  • my ddrum 4 loads from a usb connection and i got that 5 years ago

  • does it have mesh heads?

  • @DaDruminator not mesh no but its pretty much yourstandard skin which i think seems better than using mesh heads as they offer more bounce meaning mesh heads can get get you into bad habbits as you learn to play with them rather than your acoustic kit

  • How can i upload those new Sounds to the modul? I think its still not possible !!

  • i just want to know how the drum heads fell.. i got a rolad td9 right now and i like the way the toms and snar fell.. but the simples is kinda wack :/ how anyone how can tell me how the felling on this set?

  • X-TALK on 0:48!!!

  • Wow

  • 3:20 "This is the world's first drum sound module that enables you to load new soundsets from your computer over a USB connection". That's a marketing lie. 2box DrumIt Five came out with that in 2008(!). I am still not sure if I am gonna buy the Alesis DM10 or the 2box DrumIt Five. The 2box is twice the price but every damn person keeps claiming it's the best electronic drum kit in the world. Judging by the audio demos (search for 2box videos) it sounds exactly like acoustic. This is tough...

  • @pulseforce Well, for what it's worth I decided to go with neither. 2box DrumIt Five has the best onboard sounds in the world (no contest), but very flimsy hardware. The Alesis DM10 has average onboard sounds and quite nice hardware (VERY nice for the price, the kit really is favorably priced!).

If I was going to choose an inexpensive, good kit, the Alesis DM10 would be it, but I decided to go right for the multi-thousand dollar kits, since I'm transferring from acoustic and want the best feel.

  • @pulseforce i'm not sure if you saw this after what he said at 3:20, but you can use software drum modules with your computer, and there are so many software drum modules, you're bound to find the awesome kit you've been hearing in your head.

  • @SkooterBush Yeah thanks, when I wrote that comment 3 months ago I still hadn't researched much about electronic kits and just went by their audio demos. I have since learnt pretty much everything there is to know about electronic kits. I've tried all the drum sound VSTs for laptops, hooked up via midi to them, etc. It sounds fantastic and definitely beats ANY module on the market today. Modules have like 128mb of lofi samples whereas software has many gigabytes of extremely good quality. :-)

  • @pulseforce So true about the poor 2box build quality. The drummer in my band has one and has already gone through 2 heads & a cymbal. As for sounds, yeah they're quite nice, but we end up just hooking it up to AddictiveDrums on my MacBook anyway. Which, btw is more hassle than it should be seeing as you can't use the 2box as a USB controller device. You HAVE to us the MIDI output. Pain in the neck. The DM10 seems to be a safe bet. They have all the above covered and for a quarter of the price.

  • @pulseforce Exactly, so far an affordable edrum with features like multizone cymbals and 3 zone snare doesn exist. It is either the awesome sound but limited hardware of the 2Box, or the crappy sound and awesome playability of Roland or Yamaha.

  • @pulseforce i'm going to buy the alesis DM10 but i've played on a 2box kit, i can't even express how good it is, its is more than good, it is by far the best electronic kit i've played, and i've played the roland td-20..

But i dont have the money to buy a 2box just for practice.. if in the projects you are in no1 is against u playing an electronic kit on the stage, buy the 2box, dont even think about it, just buy..

  • didn't Pearl just do this, only more stylishly?

  • @xMinorLydianx Pearl ePro is just rebranded Alesis stuff. The RED module is just a rebranded Alesis DM10 and the Pearl Cymbals are rebranded Alesis surge cymbals, which are rebranded smarttrigger cymbals.

  • 3:21 wo wo wo....please recheck what you said

  • @JiTiAr35 hahahaha. That's what I was thinking.

  • I want a drum line kit for my dm5 can I get some tips on how to do this? Also the pads are to small and my "snare" drum [see acoustic drums] keeps rotating down. HELP!

  • what do u mean by a drum line kit?

  • If it was a bit more Id go td12 but even used they are still $2200+ (retail 3295.00)the dm10pro can be had for $1199.00 new(ebay) with warrentee so its still almost double the price w/out a warrentee. Ive read the reviews on the dm10pro and they are a bit mixed but almost all say they are great for the price so who knows. They look pretty good to me a guy who just wants to rock out at home just for fun. I did play the td20 the other day and although it was impressive the rebound is way 2 much

  • I love the Alesis products. I am using, for example, their Alesis IO26 external audio interface for recording and it is absolutely superb. They have done an incredibly good job with electronic drums, too. Their quality is at least as good as Roland's, if not even better, but for a lower price. As for the product speacialist in the video, I just love the fact that he is very clear in the way he expresses himself, both phrasewise as well as dictionwise. Great job, man! Congratulations!

  • I really like what I see here. Some say they broke the heads soon after they bought it but I figure they just use some cheap heads for starters. Its nothing to just replace them with better heads problem solved. I dont see anything out there close to this for $1199.00 (ebay)

  • I want this kit...

    Regards - Dennis

    Children of the Mushroom 1967

  • Dwumpad!

  • I really liked the cymbals & was very surprised how much better than any other cymbal controller they were. Hated the snare sounds and the machine gun effect, but it is the best thing Alesis has made in electronic percussion in years. I wouldn't mind having the module separate but can't find it yet. Alesis is also not very clear on inputting sounds through USB, and I don't think that part wasn't thought out very well or implemented, but again the best showing for them since the DM PRO module.

  • Can I trade in the plastic stand from my usb pro kit 1st generation for the new aluminum one?

  • This looks really good to me. Great job Alesis!

  • income tax check comes in about 2.5 weeks i'm ordering the DM10 Studio kit which isn't even out till March. I will definitely post a good video review for you guys. :)

  • 1:10 hahaha THAT IS SERIOUS FOCUS!!!

  • @ShadowHero360: The Roland TD 20 may Beat this Kit but cost more than the Dubble. So this Kit is for 995Euro real deal^^...The Roland Td20 cost about 2299 Euro...So now you are Speachless????

  • @KINGxMANIACx i have the dm5 and yeah it will but mine cut out when i did it so id recommend getting a proper double pedal

  • i hate how this guy talks, he treats like we're all stupid, nice kit anyway, but don't have the money 4 it

  • @gibson00000000000000 If you look at the price tag you'll figure out why he's talking like that. They're targeting amateurs and people who haven't got much clue about proper drumming. Decent kit, in all fairness.

  • @awesa wasnt my comment like a year ago? and im lovin this kit:) best value for its price

  • @gibson00000000000000 I only watched this video last nite, for the first time.;) God knows why I even posted anything ;) Anyways, yeah it does sound surprisingly well for this price. I was always just checking out the Roland td kits, but here is a true contender. And much more affordable. Still, I'm broke right now, I could even afford the poster with dm10 on it :);) cheers.

  • @awesa I meant- could NOT afford

  • no hi-hat stand?

  • you need that hi hat stand. i agree with u

  • Very very nice for the price !

  • The DM10 Module however sounds pretty cool. Its got a good range for capability and the USB upload feature sound very convenient for recording at home. I have a custom built Roland Kit (around the TD-9 module) that in the end cost me about $3500 all said and done. It Has USB but very limited functionality.

  • I think its too loud, the acoustic sound.

Still not bad for the price

  • I would add another 10in floor tom and I think it would be a pretty sweet set especially for the money.

  • looks like a cheaper roland td-9+

    to me

but actually it sounds pretty great :)

and the price!!! awesome compared to roland!

  • i would like Alesis to provide the end user with a conversion program that would allow me "the end user" to upload any audio file i want into the sound module...i create my own audio files...i would like to use them as i choose...wen i play....THAT WOULD BE SWEET..!

  • It looks fine, but i don't like 8 inch pads...

  • wow alesis just announced today that its going to sell the DM10 module standalone, i can finally do a decent upgrade on my dm5 pro kit with surge cymbals

  • Isnt it a beauty ? XD
