I agree that there should be little to no complaint about free trade. One of the first things that you learn in economics is that there are gains from trade. And America need not concern itself with maintaining supremacy to be economically successful. We can always look to the UK for proof; they no longer run the world but have one of the world's largest economies.

Clinton is a wise man, and a great speaker. But he does not admit or recognize in this speech that we all hold an ideology, philosophy may be a tactic that one employs as force may be a tactic but they all labor under an ideology. No one is absolutely philosophical. The two tools, force or might, and philosophy are employed based on their appropriateness to each particular situation.
