  • I love chicken with garlic sauce, how would you make it a little More spicy?

  • I really like the way you pause and list the ingredients. Sometimes I don't pick up on the audio or the exact works or can't spell them. Also I like the fact that you use simple and only a few items. Please continue keeping it simple and straight forward.

  • Lila, I was recently at a store called HyVee out of iowa and they had a Classic Garlic Chicken. It was just like the garlic chicken of my youth at yu's mandarin in Hoffman Estates, IL It contained slices of chicken breast, whole straw mushrooms, water chestnuts and this dark sauce I think someone once told me it was a black bean sauce. but it was garlicy and it was exactly like it here at this Hyvee location. Can you please offer this recipe for the Classic Garlic Chicken Please?? thanks!!

  • This looks nothing like what I had at the restaurant. Their sauce was much darker. They also had it spicy with red chili flakes but it tasted so good.

  • NOW IM GOING TO SET EVERYTHING ASIDE JUST TO MAKE THIS DISH!!!! and you are hot, are you married? :*

  • Nice easy recipe. I'm going to make it using Chinese broccoli tonight.

  • Yeah is there another sauce to use beside oyster

  • I hate oyster sauce and replaced it with a heavy dose of chilli sauce. DE-LISH!

  • i like your video ang recipe but its to long.... getting boring

  • i like food little bit spicy! do you have any suggestions to make Chicken with Garlic sauce a bit more spicier?

  • @peacevan27 I love to spice up my food too! There are several things you can add to make this spicier - crushed chili pepper (for heat), hot chili garlic sauce (for heat and flavor), chili oil (for heat), crushed szechuan peppercorns (for numbness- not really hot though). I also sometimes add a hot sauce to my own portion called "Dave's insanity sauce" -just a little drop of this adds tons of heat without really changing the flavor :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy

thanks alot for the video. i made chicken with garlic sause, using this recipe, it was awesome, everyone loved it!! P.S. please dont stop upload more recipes!!!

  • @peacevan27 Thank you so much for trying this :)

  • i love the way you do things i want to marry you

  • This recipe is awesome!! Thank you so much..i will definitely try it^^

  • 1 question i forgot is light soy soy sauce or is dark soy wat u call soy sauce ?

  • @willyham72 light soy sauce

  • Thank you that's great to know. I love mushrooms, so that will work for me! :)

  • Hi, I want to make this one so bad, but unfortunately neither my husband or myself like any kind of seafood, and it calls for oyster sauce. I would just leave it out, but then I know it wouldn't probably taste anything like how it's suppose to taste. :<

  • @Mojosfire The oyster sauce is the main base of flavor for this recipe. They do make a mushroom oyster sauce which does not have any seafood in it that you could use as a substitute. You could also leave out the oyster sauce and just add an extra tbsp of soy sauce as well, but the flavor will be a bit different :)

  • Hi is peanut oil the origional oil used in china and is this oil high in fat/colesterol . you make everything look easy :) do you have any duck recipies ? thank you

  • @avmr81 Most Chinese people that I know either use peanut oil or corn oil, and sometimes vegetable oil for their cooking. The peanut oil that I use has 14grams of fat and 0 Cholesterol in a serving size of 1 tabelspoon. I will be posting some duck recipes soon and Peking duck too. Thank you for writing and watching :)

  • WHAT CAN I USE INSTEAD OF PEANUT OIL? CAUSE I LIVE IN MEXICO AND IT'S REALLY HARD FOR ME TO FIND IT

  • @ldmao010878 You can use regular vegetable or corn oil as well. Thank you so much for all your comments and for watching :)

  • Hi Lila! I combined this recipe with the chicken stir fry recipe (without the cooking wine) and it came out delicious! I loved it! Thanks so much for posting such amazing recipes.

  • You are definately amazing cook! I love all of your recipes!

  • This looks delicious. Can I make it in a large non-stick skillet?

  • @ArchieLovesMe Yes that should work fine :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy I made it last nite, and it turned out absolutely delicious. A definite keeper for my family. We all loved it. Thanks so much! :)

  • @ArchieLovesMe Thank you for trying this and posting. I'm so glad you liked it :)

  • can you minus hte oyster sauce without changing hte flavor

  • @MrVparekh The oyster sauce in this recipe gives the sauce its main flavor. If you left it out it would be missing quite a bit of depth :)

  • is there a substitute for garlic salt (e.g. garlic paste and table salt) as I can't seem to find it anywhere? I live in UK and have tried oriental supermarkets as well.

  • @hidimb You can use a mix of garlic powder and regular salt - I usually just do 1/2 and 1/2 :)

  • thx for ur recipe.i will use this for my baby..baptismal day.....thx

  • Yummy!!!! i can almost taste it from here--lovely

  • came out great, very delicious, thanks for putting so much detail into your video small things like chopping the garlic and microwaving the carrots really help a newbie cook like me.

  • I'm making this chicken titty stir fry in 20 mins, I hope it comes out as good as yours

  • i made this today YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  • i understand your voice clearly.. nice video and nice recipe.. gonna try it later...

  • what can you replace oyster sauce with?

  • @thankfulandblessed Oyster sauce has a unique flavor that greatly adds to this dish. There is not really anything that can replace it that would not change the flavor quite a bit. They do sell a vegan oyster sauce that is made with mushrooms which is pretty close in flavor and would be the best substitute :)

  • hmmm.... pretty, sexy... and a good cook???? waaaah!!! what else can u ask for in a woman????

  • @mslittlegirl23 brains!! lol

  • I'm sure you get asked this constantly, but I just subscribed to your channel. How can I get a printable version of this recipe. I made it the other night and liked it a lot (after increasing the sauce amount by 50%). Not exactly how I've had it at local restaurants, but it doesn't matter, because it tastes great!

  • I'll send u the link to this recipe through youtube mail. Thanks for watching :)

  • This was a great recipe, thanks for posting, I loved it, only complaint was the garlic smell that lingered on my hands for about 2 days after, next time I'll use a mincer. THanks for posting!!!!!

  • I made this yesterday...it was wonderful....thank you

  • quite concern about your nails, too long for a professional cook. I also have seen your show for preparing dough and could not finish when you have difficulty mixing the mixture by hands because of your long nails. Actually You produced quite good presentation (clear cooking show). Anyway you have good show

  • The average person can have good nails and cook too :)

  • @coldenia can u please worry about your own nails please...if she had problems with them, don't you think she would have addressed that herself already?

  • I'm sitting down to eat this recipe for the first time right now and I must say it is fabulous! I was a little worried when I added the sauce, the smell was a little unlike what I was expecting, but you can't argue with results! :)

  • how can you vary this to spicy schiwon

  • Just use 2 cloves of garlic, and to the sauce, omit the oyster sauce and add 2 tbsp rice vinegar, 1/2 tbsp sugar, and 1 tbsp crushed sichuan peppercorns. If you can't find the peppercorns, you can just use hot chilis :)

  • is a yellow onion the same like any other onion?

  • No, there are many different types of onions. Yellow onions can usually be found in most local grocery stores :)

  • This specific dish has been my favorite for years, but I was never able to go to restaurants very often; so I was always looking for the recipe. Sadly, all of the ones I had tried were horrible.

I decided to give this one a try last night, and to my surprise it was absolutely perfect!

Eureka, I've finally found it! For this, I shall pledge my love to you for all eternity =P

Your videos are nice, simple, and easy to follow. And the results are even better.

    Thanks so much!

  • How delish, bravo!

  • amazing vid...

can we use anything else instead of the oyester sauce?

  • The oyster sauce is the base of the flavor for this dish. If you were to change it it would taste different. If you are vegetarian, or don't like oysters, there are vegetarian versions of this sauce - I think they are mushroom based. These would work well in this dish :) Thanks for writing and watching :)

  • The oyster sauce may sound unappealing at first, but it really does make the dish. I bought some just for this dish, and although the label put a frown on my face, one smell turned it into a smile.

  • Great video as always Lila,

Question for you...for a spicier kick, could you add something like hot bean paste to the sauce when it's being prepped?

  • Yes you can add a little to the sauce; either the bean paste or some hot chili garlic sauce. If you want just heat in the chicken, you can add a little chili oil to the pieces when you mix in the garlic salt :)

  • great and yummy

  • looks great!

  • my favorite from take-out restaraunt!

  • I steam in the mircrowave also beforehand. but I use a glass container always.

  • looks so good and easy:)

  • Hi Lila, I have a question how many does this recipe serve. Thanks.

  • This makes 3 to 4 servings :)

  • This looks real tasty Lila! I'm definatly going to make this. Glad to see you put the list of ingredients at the end of the video or others put it under the description. Some other channel videos you have to watch and always pause to write it down. Again thanks for another tasty dish!

  • This looks very delicious. I'm getting hungry and my mouth is watering while watching you cook. LOL.

  • Lila, thanks so much for creating this video. I will definitely make this over the weekend and let you know how it turns out. Thanks again.
