@rscottwhite I guarantee you volume on the final cut is almost entirely determined by mixing done at the end, I wouldn't usually say that volume corresponds to familiarity with a part very much either way.
the chords were delicious and wow you have a fantastic range! my only complaint is that sometimes the diction makes me cringe but 5 stars, etc. great job!
Love your sound especially at the cluster on "eyes", as well as the "opens" that follows. By the way, I have the music to sleep my child, so if you ever want to do that... let me know.
Though I very much applaud your range and effort on this, I will say you need just a bit more training as a countertenor in the topmost end of your range. It's rare that the sopranos are so important in whitacres music but this time you really need them to come out above everything except the basses.
Personally, I'd like to have heard more tenor from 3:19-3:24. And although I really like what you do with Whitacre's pieces, I feel that your suspensions on chords are just a little long. Otherwise, I love it! :-)
So i think this is completely ahmazing. And just utterly perfect. Although my stepmom seems to disagree. She thinks that the microphone is making all the different parts and that you aren't singing them all. Just to prove to her that im right, this is genuinly you... right?
@KaTiErox4ever1 The only editing to the sound that happens is adding "echo", and I turn up the volume on certain tracks I want to bring out more. Not even sure how a microphone would "create" all of the different parts . . . O.o yeah, its me.
@Barbershop666 Exactly what i told her, but she seems to think she knows everything about music just cuz she graduated from college with a music degree. Which was prolly i dont know how many years ago? haa. Thanks though for proving me right. Lol.
Wow. Wow Wow Wow. You're vocal range is fantastic for a male! It is incredible! I would love to hear more of what you do, I've watched all your videos and you know, you have a life ahead of you in singing. I believe in that and you. (: Please! Keep it up! This puts a smile to my face to see such wonderful talent. (:
I like it. Slightly robotic sound and video does Max Headroom weirdness, but I really appreciate that all parts can be heard without the typical distortion you usually get with a traditional choir. I know the bass I and II parts... it must be so cool to know all. Which do you usually "follow" when hearing a choir do it?
FUCKING INSANE RANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is very very impressive!!!! this is fabulous.. this takes a very veyr trained ear to sing with.. u must hear those chords of dossonence.. and u do.. this is amaing.. wow!
Hey man... This was amazing. I started the video, not sure of what I was about to hear, and I listened in silence. When the song ended, I broke out in laughter. Not because it was funny or anything, but because hearing this peace performed like this filled me with sheer joy. This is my favorite Eric Whitacre composition, and to hear it performed like this literally brightened my entire day. I watched this video many more times afterward, and downloaded your recording. I loved every second of it!
excuse me while i weep in the corner. that was amazing! i haven't heard good choir music like that in a long time! listening with my headphones was a great idea :) i did have to laugh at your intense expressions, but sometimes that what ya gotta do to get those high notes out!
I like this a lot. And im not saying i could do this... So no one say amything to me.. As an opinion and musician who has heard this song hundreds of times.. I think your vowels are to bright in the beginning.
I love how when there is only one guy doing everything, the blend is near perfect because he sings it the way he sings with the same vowels every time. There are no bad vowel people in the mix haha
i know each way you sing is different for each webcam recording you do, but dang your choir voice is good, u must put so much effort into recording each one of these, i just wish i could have a clear unjumpy voice like yours
It's a shame this hasn't gotten much views. I've been listening to this and Sleep over the last week over and over, and both are extremely relaxing and very well done.

@such3000 Hey man. Yeah, as far as the HIGH quality stuff goes, this is near the bottom of the line. I dont even have to use an interface with it. And yes, nothing but eq and reverb goes into my recordings. No aid of any kind.

I can tell you prefer the baritone range (those are the loudest parts), but the sync of photography and sound alone really makes this a must see.
I think Whitacre is doing a worldwide virtual chorus of this piece; you might want to take a peek; the invitation is on YouTube somewhere.
