In USA my bill for 1 night hospital stay was... 40 000 dollars. As a person coming from Europe, I was SHOCKED. That amount is simply absurd and unpayable. I am not paying a cat scan that costs 8,000 dollars. Would you?!?

Americans should stop comparing obamas proposal to canadian health care. Two different governments, Two different economical states, and Two different population of people. If they get universal health care it would never be anything like the canadian health care system.
Universal health care is not American dream, it is part of socialist ideal and it will cost rich people. American dream is more about individual getting rich through all kinds of means. So, universal health care is actually against American dream.

Our healthcare is better than yours, our doctors are better than yours, our medical schools are better than yours, we have approx 75 more nobel laureates in physiology and medicine than you do. RagnarTheNerd Actually, my bff from high school spoke to me last year about her experience in Canada as an American tourist. She experienced acute abdominal pains & was taken to ER. Canadian ER triaged & diagnosed her with early stages Ovarian Cancer, and cured her with complete hysterectomy/oophorectomy surgery. She was allowed to recover in hospital until she was able to fly back to Oregon with her husband. They left Canada with NO MEDICAL BILLS.
