According to Guiness, this is the 8th largest concert in the world and the 3rd largest in Central Park with 500,000 attendees. At the time in 1981, it was the largest gathering in Central Park and 3rd largest in the world! I listened to it on radio at the time...it was fantastic!

It's funny, I think Paul Simon is maybe not into this song in the beginning. Maybe calling it in? Shame the camera cuts away from his only vocal solo at starting at 01:24, that brings a lot of people to their feet.

Then the horns kick in at 01:52, bringing more of the crowd alive, and Steve Gadd gives his two-crash climax at 02:15.

When we come back to Paul, he is a man transformed. His eyes are dancing, has a huge grin, he's loving it all. It carries the rest of the song to the too soon end.

Some of the best music ever composed. Simon and Garfunkel are wonderful together. In response to wildcatter63, the Graceland album couldn't have been any better. Its a different style of music; world music. Theres deffinately not any "shame" in any of the music Paul Simon puts out.
