  • Sadly this clip explains one of the main reasons why most of the teens have taken to the streets of London rioting and looting these past 4 nights.

  • I wish the government would just go around exterminating chavs.

  • @TaZ101SAGA Better to put them in work camps. Then they'd be doing something productive for once.

  • Ive talked with Irish Republicans so i know what the fuck im talking about!

  • IRA apologists claim unarmed, off duty members of the British Army were 'legitimate targets', even after they'd retired. I wonder what they'd think after watching Michael Caine's character in this film.

'Yeah, you were right to kill all those scumbags. But you still should be murdered in your home.'

  • @padraic2001eire I totally, completely agree with you re: legitimate targets. Still, do you think Britain has any current, legitimate right in NI (and again, I'm not advocating violence of any kind here - this is an academic question)

  • @Hellfryable Britain isn't IN Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland is IN the United Kingdom. There is a difference. And yes, I would say Northern Ireland's right to be in the United Kingdom is legitimate, the vast majority of people who live there want it that, and the vast majority on the rest of the island (94% of voters in the Republic) support Northern Ireland's right to remain within the UK.

  • @padraic2001eire I actually find myself agreeing with you - I don't think NI should join the Republic until and unless the people in both States wish to do that.

  • Oh course, it's probably best it doesn't happen till the Republic drags itself out of its current economic quagmire!

  • @padraic2001eire BULLSHIT The UK colonized the land and naturaly the Irish fought back and continue to to this day and people like you have the nerve to call the Irish terrorists! So i guess it was a terrorist act of the UK back in ww2 fighting back against the nazis, its the same thing! So are all Americans terrorists? The UK back during the revolutionary war called the Americans terrorists! Look up Bloody Sunday, or Colonial Smyth and what he said, just some of the terrorism by the UK!

  • @StreetPunkism *Sigh* I don't even know where to begin correcting your comment. You clearly know nothing about Ireland, North or South. Unless you are going to write something literate, please stick to discussing your own country on youtube, and I'll stick to discussing mine.

  • @padraic2001eire probebly because you cant! and i`ll do what ever the fuck i want!

  • @padraic2001eire Are you Irish?

  • @Volf99 Have a guess.

  • @padraic2001eire I don't think so, but I don't want to make a false assumption. If you are are you North Irish/Protestant? Sorry if this is too personal :/

  • @Volf99 Frankly, that's an incredibly stupid assumption to make. If you look at my username you'll notice two things; it has the word 'Padraic' in it, which is a Gaelic name (no Protestants in Ireland ever give their children Gaelic names) and also the word 'Eire' in it (which is the official name for the Republic of Ireland). So, no, I'm neither 'North Irish' nor Protestant. That you would assume I am because I loathe terrorism shows how out of touch Americans are with the people of Ireland.

  • @padraic2001eire I guess I'd feel sorry for the police if it wasn't for the MASSIVE IMPERIALISM that Britain is well known for. However if you think I'm being biased, you could ask a third party like India, China, or Argentina. Ask them if they feel pity for British Army personal, because I can guess what their response might be.

  • What is a chav ?

  • @zleverette A chav is Council House And Violent

  • @Cinimod237 Council House Antisocial Violent.. pls get it right..

  • This is actually true IRA had a reason but for all of the gangs in the world they just kill for fun

  • Who thinks that this movie should have ended when the two snipers are trained on Sid, and he is aiming at Harry? The screen would go dark and we'd hear a gunshot. perfect cliffhanger.

  • @darktigerwizard

No, that would wreck the film's ending.

  • @wastedproperty Yes that's right try telling that to an Anglo-Norman nobleman 800 years ago, good grief wise up and stop looking at it with such a black and white perspective.

  • @wastedproperty - Well, its all history now, innit?

  • Watching this film, desptie it being a very good film makes me sick to my stomic watching these "chavs" and "hoodies" abuse people for no reason more then just a fuck around with some friends and to waste time, if i could, belive me i would get every god for saken "hoody" and "chav" of this fucking planet

  • logicopositivi - I don not disagree with you. Some pretty horrid things were done on both sides, no question. However, I do not believe that terrorism is the answer to any problem, and the targeting of civilians by the IRA with their bombing campaign was the worst thing of all.

    Here's to peace.

  • Comment removed

  • @bgibb101 I know. Both sides were savage and some utterly horrid thing like Enniskillen occurred.

At least there is a peace now and it is a fair enough system. There will never be a Unionist hegemony again. I agree with you about that

  • Logicopositivi - as a former soldier, I can attest to the brutality and cowardice of the IRA. Do you think it was heroic to blow the arms and legs off women and children? Or to use civilians as cover when firing obn British soldiers? you were NOT there to tell me differently, nor were any of the authors or investigators of the Saville Enquiry. The IRA were terrorists, plain and simple.

  • @bgibb101 No you fail to understand the repressive state that Northern Ireland was. No one could vote if they didn't own property, they had limited access to jobs and houses. It was an oppressive failed state. The northern Irish civil rights association tried to campaign peacefully on that issue and they faced loyalist mobs lead by Paisley and their ilk. It was a failed state and I would have been on the side of the Provos. Force was the only thing that got the message through.

  • @bgibb101 By the way i know many people who's families had to flee from the north in the 70's because they were burnt out of their homes by loyalist gangs. Where were the british army to protect them.

  • @bgibb101 they might have been terrorists, but maybe it would never have come to that if they british hadn't invaded ireland, or simply treated people like equals from the start . But it's obvious you are the type of person who can't admit that both sides were at fault

  • "It's not Northern Ireland, Harry."

Your right you naive politically-correct, guilty-coddling, fish-faced enemy of the people (the decent law-abiding folk). It's worse, at least that is the impression I get from Harry (Michael) concerning his foes. Can't wait to see this! It looks to me like the British version of Death Wish (1 and 3) and Gran Torino. Old men teaching disgraces to my generation what is. Actions have consequences. The world owes you nothing. I could go on.

  • @JReed 1985. The IRA were nothing more than a bunch of murdering thugs. They used civilians as cover when shooting at British soldiers, and bombed civilian targets, blowing men women and children to bits. Freedom fighters? Why do you think so many civilians were killed and wounded on "Bloody Sunday?" it was the IRA, shooting from the rooftops at British soldiers, using a civilian parade for cover. Needless to say, when the soldiers returned fire, the civilians were caught in the middle.

  • @bgibb101

Using army for police actions is A L W A Y S a mistake.....unless their is an MP on hand , at the scene, at the time, to call off every shot.

    (And take responsibility)

  • @bgibb101 The Saville Inquiry has proved you wrong.

  • really shows the dark side of england :D

  • We need more movies like this.

  • The IRA were fighting to take back land that was stolen from the Irish people by the british and free Ulster from english rule.

  • Loved this movie.. and i saw it for free at Ace Free Movies . com ... really great stuff.

  • this film kicks first bloods arse :P

  • I have to find me this movie and watch...Michael Caine is awsome!

  • Spam Spam Spam.

    GOD STOP IT.

We dont care about your god darn sites.

    Awesome movie Btw

  • @TheLemonsaur DONT THUMBS DOWN THE MAN! HE SPEAKS THE TRUTH!

  • stop advertising website u cheap bastards

  • i agree, scumbags like that are just hoodies with guns

  • @killerproduction1976 can u explain the term hoodies to this American. your english is a lil diffrent than ours

  • @nitewolf89 like trailer trash or white trash or rednecks but without the male rape lol.

  • @Edd731 oh ok u guys have them too

  • @Edd731

and they aint just white. In fact, the whites bought into the whole immigrant "yob gangsta "cool" culture and modified their "traditional gangs" accordingly.

Perhaps "young brainless losers with weapons, but not with any social conscience, brain, empathy or feeling of responsibility!!"

  • In Northern Ireland the IRA wanted Northern Ireland to be reunited with Ireland and they used violence. The British forces were there to make sure that people would be safe.

It was hard to tell who were the good guys, at the end of the day the IRA and the British forces were fighting for a cause.

Gangs especially football hooligans just fight for a laugh.

  • Yeah he said that.

  • @JReed1985 thanks for the description. muppet

  • You're welcome

  • @JReed1985

Well The idea that British forces were there to keep the peace, is a lovely bedtime story, but not particularly accurate.

  • @SiMags you have an interesting point of view the same could be said about Afghanistan and Iraq.

  • @JReed1985 wrong the british army came over because the catholics asked them to then the IRA started to fight the british and protestants

  • @kidri0t I've heard about that but still the British were trying to protect the people. That's what I was saying, the IRA did have the right to unite Ireland they were simply like the French resistance in World War 2.

  • @kidri0t Originally the british army were sent there to protect Republican areas from loyalist attack. They failed and instead interned many Republicans without trial and started colluding with loyalist paramilitaries. Thats why the PIRA came to strength; mainly to defend Republican areas from loyalist attack and to reunite the country. Also the IRA never killed anyone due to their religion. Loyalist paramilitaries did.

  • @Logicopositivi "Also the IRA never killed anyone due to their religion. Loyalist paramilitaries did"

DUH?! the provos were catholic and the loyalists were protestant - -you are splitting hairs indeed, that I suspect you may not have....!!!

  • @JReed1985 The IRA were and almost certainly are now a bunch of bored and uneducated angry young men.

  • @Talbot6832 yeah things do change within groups. It could be possible that if Nazi Occupation in France lasted longer than a decade the French resistance could of moved into the drug smuggling business. Some people just look for something to be pissed off about like not all the IRA fighters were patriotic like in the beginning.

  • @JReed1985 ira killed my fucking uncle there noting but dicks

  • @xREECEo I'm sorry to hear about the death of your uncle. Some of the IRA members have probably become corrupt and are using any excuse just to be violent and achieve their own personal goals. Some of them have moved into drug, weapons and other trading instead of fighting for British occupation in Northern Ireland.

The same could of happened with the French resistance if Nazi occupation lasted for over a decade. Corruption happens everywhere at some point.
