We watched this part in Social Studies today,I thought it was rather interesting,

This film is very well acted but it is not that historically correct. I remember reading that the American war of independence came about due to the establishment of a US bank. A family in Britain wanted to control the finances of the new world, but the British dissidents living there had other ideas. I am not sure how true all that is but the lost of the American colonies must have really been a blow to the British crown.
