This is more than great writing lol this is superb writing. Wrods can not describe the script writers etc They just knew what to do and write. Tv is in a very sad state today. I will not even go.

Much better "Family" episodes on the CB show than on the later Mama's Family. Mama's character changed too much to make it play well whenever Eunice put in a rare appearance there.

Carol Burnett is a fantastic actress. This made me tear up at the end. Just like in the TV movie, "Eunice". She has the ability to make you laugh, and cry, and everything in between in just a few minutes. I don't believe American TV was ever as good as it was when Carol, Vicki, Harvey, and Tim got in front of that camera. Makes me sad that all my generation gets is Snooki and brides-to-be competing for plastic surgery. Thanks for the video post!

Not sure why Craig Richard Nelson, who played the psychiatrist in episode 11.24 of Carol Burnett, was never given credit for that performance on the IMDB, but I recently submitted the request to the IMDB, and noticed that he now gets credit for that episode. Parts of this scene also appear on "The Carol Burnett Show: A Reunion" from 1993, which I thought was an excellent compilation of sketches from her show.

people say eunice has all the problems, but her own mama says "youll never amount to nothin" and shes honestly supposed to be okay? i mean yeah eunice is a little wired,but she catches hell from her whole family.she gets on my nerves as much as the next person,but if her mom didnt play favorites with the kids and stomp her down as much as she does,she probably wouldnt be near as bad

@LouBusch Mamas Family made Mama out ot be the "good guy" and Eunice out to be the villain BUT on the CB Show it is clearly the other way around, Mama is a NIGHTMARE.

you feel for Eunice. It maybe true she is a doormat, but when you live in her situation, you cannot blame her. It isn't her fault. Many fail to realize that it is Eunice that does everything for everybody and is never appreciated. She is also in a catch 22. For example if she stays with Mama and continues on the road she is on, she is a "failure" according to her family, but if she up and left Mama she will be viewed as someone who abandoned her.

This sketch would have been the perfect ending to the saga of Mama and Eunice. But there was the "Eunice" special and the "Mama's Family" tv show, which were substandard. This sketch would have been the perfect, perfect ending.

I dont think they were substandard but they played to a comedic sensibility. The show would have gotten old quick if bogged down into complex social retardation issues over and over again. People want to look at something that they can relate to that reminds them of themselves but not necessarily smacked in the face with truth and keep their mind on their problem when they'd rather laugh and forget or at least unwind. What do you think?

well, did you see the clips on here of the movie Eunice? That was a sad ending, also. Really sad for their characters. But they played those characters so well, no one else could have done it besides Vicki and Carol.

Yeah I did, I always wanted to see it end where Eunice and Mama find the REAL reason of their annimosity toward eachother, and where they finally reconcile. It was funny to see them fight, but I wish it could have ended with them finally on good terms.

On a fanfic story, someone wrote a story I LOVED where Mama finally admitted Eunice was actually her favorite and the reason she had a lot of ill feelings toward her was because she reminded her of HERSELF and she was seeing all her own mistakes repeated in Eunice.

It was on an old Mama's Family site I used to be on, it had everything about the show, and even fanfic scripts, I think most of it unfortunatly has been taken down, only the main part of the site remains, just type in Mama's Family site and it'll take you there I think, but the fanfic episodes are all gone.
