hey m13. in the start of the video you say "intelligent people should wait for the motorcycle to be warm before you go hard on it." know i think i know why your supposed to do that, but everytime i talk to some one about it they always tell me im a moron.
so i want to hear it from the legend rider himself, tell me why i should wait to go on hard on motorcycle with carbs.
erm one question which bike is like better Honda CBR 600rr 2003 or Yamaha R6 2006 :) please response to this question will be like totally helpfull :) and ur great :)
@buggy223 A 250 would probably be uncomfortable for you stock. But you could always get adjustable rearsets. They aren't cheap though. I'd either go for a ninja 250 or a GS500.
Mordeth, i guess its to late to write a comment, because I think you won't watch this vidoe comments anymore. But if you are reading this, so... You're doing really good job and I wanted to ask you... Could you do this bike comparison to like yamaha or suzuki 250cc?Ofcourse if you have a chance to ride them... Thanks for your vids, I really like them. I already subscribed you with my acc tho :)
@MrPrepboi NO. The bike will not work for you. Not because of the size o whatever. It isn't good for you because you're a big faggy loser that isn't cool enough to have a motorbike.
How bout you just go ride a tricycle wearing a miniskirt you fucking lame ass mother fucker !!
In Taiwan you have to drive carefully.traffic lights are so intensive and traffic jam . I somewhat like NINJA250 . Its cheap in the heavy motercycle but also own good power! Im still a student so that I cant have a taste on heavy motor =(
The green neutral light stays on when the bike is off so it must have been in first, also thats pretty cool to have a temp gauge, mine has a fuel gauge there but is really inaccurate.
250 would be a good in town commuter, or weekend toy.... A 250 where I live would get ran off the road by a semi doing 80mph... That's why I'll stick to my r1 and 675...
Personally I'd much rather have good old fashion gauges than digital. You can see where you're at with a gauge, vs a mostly arbitrary number with the digital. Although for $4k I'd expect some flash too, so I unno.
is riding a 250 ninja like riding i dirtbike in a sense of if u give to to much gas when ya start will the front end come up real quick into a wheelie most likely causing new bikers like me to fall
@BrettGingy its effectively impossible to do a wheelie on a 250 bike (street anyway). even some of the best riders cannot do a wheelie on a 250, mainly because of the lack of torque and/or lack of strength.
Not sure Mordeth but it looks like the neutral lite wasn't on. I know on my 09 250R it has whats called a positive neutral finder. As long as you're stopped and shift up the bike will hit neutral. I think your turn signal lite was blinking but I didn't see a solid green lite in the upper middle of the dash. The bike will not start in gear if the kick stand is down. Additionally the bike will not keep running if you put the kick stand down in gear even if the clutch is in.
The bike turning off when you put it on "the leg" (I don't know how to name it differently xP) is sort of nonsense safety feature. Some scooters have it but I didn't really think bikes have it too...
Anyway I had that on my scooter and all I cant tell you about it is "Get rid of this shit" its totally useless and forces you to turn the engine on again if you for example go to open a garage door or something.
Mordeth, you are so popular because of your openness and fearlessness in explaining yourself... your openness inspires thought [your old video about the curse on attractive people changed my life]...so I'll speak for all your fans by saying thanks.
Also, I was hoping you could explain (either in your review or as a reply) how you obtained the unreleased '09 Ninja ...sounds like an interesting story...
I know right? I went into this expecting it to have some real quality. I mean, for a 250 entry level bike this thing is no GSXR or ZX... wtf is up with that? I mean, the least they could have done is put.... oh wait... let me check again. That's right. 250cc entry level bike. What was I thinking. Oh yeah... I was thinking stupid thoughts.
is there anyway to see the comments that have disappeared due to too many people thumbing them down? Im curious what some of the haters say, to get such a strong reaction from us normal people.
I'm jealous of the temp gauge. My 250R has a fuel gauge there, which they use in place of the reserve switch on the fuel tank. I would so much rather have a physical reserve and a temp gauge.
I haven't started the review yet. Video description says that. Video annotations have said that. The fucking video title doesn't have the word review in it does it.
hum well.. You're right, you write in the beginning that your opinion will come later, but there is some guy saying in the video, that "the dash is good.. I'm not very good at reviewing.." Don't know who that guy is, but it sounds like M13.. That was the point where I wrote the comment, but the rest of the video was funny.. Calm down man..
super green M13. ;) (well, so far haven't seen anything super yet; too fast of a start... step on it! :P it's only green at wind speed. :P expect to see some action after M13's got his power drink. ;o)
something ain't right, i took my friend's ninja 250 out after this video and putting the kick stand down in neutral did not turn it off. she also commented by saying he use the kick stand at the red light everyday
It is not true, that it goes off on neutral with the kickstand. It goes off when u have some gear in it, like 1st, 2nd etc. It is for case, if u forget to hide the kickstand and give it 1st gear and after releasing the clutch, it dies. That's all.
Haha, I agree with rsx123. You should do a cruiser vid. It would be strange for your viewers to see you on one, but being that you had one back in Canada i'm sure it wouldn't be so strange for you.
Btw, do you actually read all of your video comments or do you just skim over them?
2:46, thats IT??? These videos are like crack to me, and if you started charging to view them, i'd be infuriated the whole time typing in my credit card information, damn it.
What's the liklihood of making a minor mistake as a beginner that could potentially be a big one? Like the guy a few comments down that wrecked cuz of somethin he did. Does things happen often? Just curious.
I have the 2008 version (american) which is the exact same as the 2009 and rather tha a temperature gauge there is a fuel gauge. Its not the most ACCURATE one from my exp but its good enough. I kind of prefer it over the temperature which I mostly guess on. I just let it warm up for a few minutes if its cold out and test the responsiveness of the throttle until its fully responsive with none of that sputtering delay.
Hehe and you didnt put it in nuetral :P Light never came on.
I bought a 750 for my first bike, best choice I ever made. Someone who buys a 250 will be wishing for more in about 3 to 6 months. Out growing a 750 doesnt happen nowhere as soon as it does with anything less than a 600. 600 and up is the way to go!
That depends on how responsible the person is. I know people who started on a 125cc and had enough responsibility to start on a 600. I know people who started on a 600 but their level of responsibility is so low they'd be better off on a 250.
I started on a naked 250 with no more than 21hp, it was 4-stroke. 11 months later I bought a 750, granted, it's a Katana, but it's still a powerful bike. The 250 was a good starting point for me, it might not be for you.
Yeah I just wanted a bike that would be paid for and I wouldnt mind keeping for a while. I'd hate to buy a bike and out grow it and feel the need to turn around and purchase another bike. So I bought a 750 and took my time with it and learned its level of performance and enjoy it. Plus I live in upstate NY where there is plenty of open roads so a smaller bike didnt seem the way to go.
Sigh....don't listen to this guy anyone. All the BEST riders in the world Valentino Rossi, Nicky Haden.....etc......ALL started on less than 250cc. Every single one of them. Only an idiot starts on a 600 and more. And just because some people do and are fine......that just makes them lucky idiots...or boring idiots...because they never give their bike any gas.
I totally agree with you, M. Every single respectable rider started out on even less than 125cc, most started on 50s or 80s. And yes, I'll admit I've had a LOT of fun riding my 250 in the city, but a top speed of 90 on a 70mph speed limit road is not fun, especially with morons behind the wheel who don't respect motorcyclists. Oh and not only idiots start on 600s, old idiots with too much money and not much sense as well.
My first bike is a Honda Magna 750, I am also glad I didn't get anything smaller, but I wouldn't say that everyone should be.
I already dropped it twice by letting the clutch out too fast and falling over, and if there is one way to learn fast it's having 400 pounds of metal on your leg. Starting small and building leg routines is a good idea. If I ever buy another bike it will be a smaller sports bike, for zipping around town.
You don't know this. And you can't now. But you missed out on so much fun by skipping to a big heavy slow bike (slow handling). Anyone who has owned a small bike will tell you they had more FUN more honest FUN on their small bike.
Yeah you're right, and another thing I was thinking about, you are totally right about starting on a smaller racing bike, I heard you talking about how if you roll the throttle a little too much you could flip over? I haven't felt that on my cruiser, but if I had gotten a 750 Ninja or something, I would definitely be regretting it.
on a small displacement engine they simply dont have the power to just flip if you just roll on the throttle, that being said if you tried hard enough you can definatly get the front end up but youd have to get a 250 up near like 9k rpm and pop the clutch ive popped it at like 6k on a 600 and i dont get the front wheel up much if at all. cruisers arent likely to wheelie just because of the way theyre laid out i started on a 600 even and its not bad at all you just gotta respect the power it has
I agree with you there! There are plenty of people who start on 1200's and 883's including woman. Harley sells a lot of those sporters to beginners especially the 1200 because they are lighter than the 883 (use the same block). Enjoy it man!
seriously? 2 videos of a review that say absolutely nothing about the performance of this bike. I want to know how quick it is and if its highway usable.
Let me repeat myself "Read the video description". I knew there would be idiots complaining about the lack of any true "review" so before anyone even complained.....I explained why in the description. And then even with that you still have people like you complaining. It's a series.....like 10 videos or so. If I did the whole review in the first video what would the other 9 have?
I'm a decent guy. I just don't have patience for complaints about things.....when the explanation is in the video description. Oh....and I think I made an annotation as well in the video. So I already "apologized" twice.....and you still complain? Who's the dick?
lol nice, have you noticed that if you try to pull the throttle too fast, that it will cut out or get close to that. i just bought a 2009 250r and i have noticed that.
On my first motorcycle, I wrecked it. It was the absolute first two wheeled vehicle I'd ever ridden that had different gears. So when I went to change gears, I forgot to push the throttle down and the bike did a wheelie and I slipped off. The handlebars bent back and there were grind marks on the front brakes. The headlight was also busted off.
hey m13. in the start of the video you say "intelligent people should wait for the motorcycle to be warm before you go hard on it." know i think i know why your supposed to do that, but everytime i talk to some one about it they always tell me im a moron.

What's the liklihood of making a minor mistake as a beginner that could potentially be a big one? Like the guy a few comments down that wrecked cuz of somethin he did. Does things happen often? Just curious.
triviumt0401 2 years ago
On a small bike the likely-hood is small. On a big bike...the chances are big.

Out growing a 750 doesnt happen nowhere as soon as it does with anything less than a 600. 600 and up is the way to go!
jet79637 2 years ago
That depends on how responsible the person is. I know people who started on a 125cc and had enough responsibility to start on a 600. I know people who started on a 600 but their level of responsibility is so low they'd be better off on a 250.
I started on a naked 250 with no more than 21hp, it was 4-stroke. 11 months later I bought a 750, granted, it's a Katana, but it's still a powerful bike. The 250 was a good starting point for me, it might not be for you.
marcellon2003 2 years ago
Yeah I just wanted a bike that would be paid for and I wouldnt mind keeping for a while. I'd hate to buy a bike and out grow it and feel the need to turn around and purchase another bike. So I bought a 750 and took my time with it and learned its level of performance and enjoy it. Plus I live in upstate NY where there is plenty of open roads so a smaller bike didnt seem the way to go.
jet79637 2 years ago
Sigh....don't listen to this guy anyone. All the BEST riders in the world Valentino Rossi, Nicky Haden.....etc......ALL started on less than 250cc. Every single one of them. Only an idiot starts on a 600 and more. And just because some people do and are fine......that just makes them lucky idiots...or boring idiots...because they never give their bike any gas.
13mordeth 2 years ago
I wish wouldn't have gotten a 600 CBR as my first bike.
Num1shark 2 years ago
I totally agree with you, M. Every single respectable rider started out on even less than 125cc, most started on 50s or 80s. And yes, I'll admit I've had a LOT of fun riding my 250 in the city, but a top speed of 90 on a 70mph speed limit road is not fun, especially with morons behind the wheel who don't respect motorcyclists. Oh and not only idiots start on 600s, old idiots with too much money and not much sense as well.
marcellon2003 2 years ago
My first bike is a Honda Magna 750, I am also glad I didn't get anything smaller, but I wouldn't say that everyone should be.
I already dropped it twice by letting the clutch out too fast and falling over, and if there is one way to learn fast it's having 400 pounds of metal on your leg. Starting small and building leg routines is a good idea. If I ever buy another bike it will be a smaller sports bike, for zipping around town.
Stradlverius 2 years ago
You don't know this. And you can't now. But you missed out on so much fun by skipping to a big heavy slow bike (slow handling). Anyone who has owned a small bike will tell you they had more FUN more honest FUN on their small bike.
13mordeth 2 years ago
Yeah you're right, and another thing I was thinking about, you are totally right about starting on a smaller racing bike, I heard you talking about how if you roll the throttle a little too much you could flip over? I haven't felt that on my cruiser, but if I had gotten a 750 Ninja or something, I would definitely be regretting it.
Stradlverius 2 years ago
on a small displacement engine they simply dont have the power to just flip if you just roll on the throttle, that being said if you tried hard enough you can definatly get the front end up but youd have to get a 250 up near like 9k rpm and pop the clutch ive popped it at like 6k on a 600 and i dont get the front wheel up much if at all. cruisers arent likely to wheelie just because of the way theyre laid out i started on a 600 even and its not bad at all you just gotta respect the power it has
jhardy66617 2 years ago
I agree with you there! There are plenty of people who start on 1200's and 883's including woman. Harley sells a lot of those sporters to beginners especially the 1200 because they are lighter than the 883 (use the same block). Enjoy it man!
descibeinfull 2 years ago
yeah i think the kick stand automatically turns the bike off when its down
diablo210 2 years ago
no it doesnt, ihave a ninja 250r, the kick stand switch only works if your in gear. its probably a false neutral light at that moment.
biglandfarm 2 years ago
oh, i thought i saw a review somewhere that the new ones have that feature
diablo210 2 years ago
with 3 gauges I'd rather have a tach, speedo, and fuel guage rather than a temp guage. (in that order of preference)
jibjibjub 2 years ago
seriously? 2 videos of a review that say absolutely nothing about the performance of this bike. I want to know how quick it is and if its highway usable.
jezuzfreek777 2 years ago
The speedo says 200 at the top so I'd say it's easily highway-able...and it's a ninja so it kicks ass of course!

totally agreed...
bunch of mindless bullshit has been uploaded lately...

Can any of you morons read the description? Or if not...how about the fucking title of the video? Notice how it doesn't include the word "review".

jezuzfreek777 2 years ago
Let me repeat myself "Read the video description". I knew there would be idiots complaining about the lack of any true "review" so before anyone even complained.....I explained why in the description. And then even with that you still have people like you complaining. It's a series.....like 10 videos or so. If I did the whole review in the first video what would the other 9 have?

I'm a decent guy. I just don't have patience for complaints about things.....when the explanation is in the video description. Oh....and I think I made an annotation as well in the video. So I already "apologized" twice.....and you still complain? Who's the dick?
13mordeth 2 years ago
keep at it; your providing a free service in my opinion, many people will watch your videos regardless. cant wait to see the rest of them.

^^ dont get too pissed off >:)
its their fault x'd
heideroosje555 2 years ago
lol nice, have you noticed that if you try to pull the throttle too fast, that it will cut out or get close to that. i just bought a 2009 250r and i have noticed that.
iphonereviewer3 2 years ago
your bike must be running lean. Thats not how its supposed to run. When properly tuned it shouldnt do that.

Can anyone compile all the illegal moves from the people in M13's vids? That would make a pretty sweet vid to send to a taiwan news station..

Not sure why you are getting thumbs downs. He means people OTHER THAN me. And I agree someone should compile that.

I have a 2009 kawasaki 650R. It also turns off when u put the stand down. Even in neutral. It's my first bike, so I don't know if it's new or not.

oo c thats y lol does it snow/get cold in taiwan in the winter cuz this is a good way to consistantly have videos for ur viewers. pretty cool,
take care

On my first motorcycle, I wrecked it. It was the absolute first two wheeled vehicle I'd ever ridden that had different gears. So when I went to change gears, I forgot to push the throttle down and the bike did a wheelie and I slipped off. The handlebars bent back and there were grind marks on the front brakes. The headlight was also busted off.
