  • I love this strange work. The hall's acoustics threaten to tear apart the symphony sound, but it stays JUST this side of mysterious.

  • One of My favorite symphonies, I was able to preform it once my senior year in high school...with some of the best young musicians from my state. Such a great experiences

  • Wonderful music!

  • Gonna hear it in a nice theater (São Paulo Municipal), together with an arrangement for orquestra/violin of the Franck Sonata for violin/piano. France is honoured in 2009 here in Brazil ! Will keep you posted (but won't shoot any film)

  • premiered on february 17, 1889, in Paris, perhaps the most known page written by belgian-french Cesar Franck, he used a kind of leitmotif to connect the themes along the score, nice symphony

  • this symphony is truly amazing. i got to perform it once with a group of truly talented individuals and it was a wonderful experiment.

  • Me too...i found the sheet music for it if anyone is interested in seeing what the instruments are doing when.

  • I have the Orchestra de Paris of this with Karajan Conducting from the '70's. It is their first recorded performance. This piece of music was written by one of the most peaceful of men with a "Harraden" for a wife. He voiced his passion thru his music.

  • fantastic piece, I agree. However the reverb is too much: the snappy bit doesn't work well.

  • It might be the recorder.

  • Great to see this on here. For me this is the finest piece of music ever written!
