  • great

  • I don't know why but the chord change from 3:29-3:33 is my favourite part! It's like a Beach Boys California pop song that washed up on the Jersey Shore! I love how there's heartache and yearning beneath the sunshine and daylight in this tune.

  • Great post.

  • Thank you!

  • Fantastiko....la dedico ad ONIRIA amica dolce e forumista di PIR ITALY :)

  • love the song

not crazy about the "production" but not really complaining

  • "Love's a fools dance; I've got no common sense, but I've still got my feet"

    what a great lyric

  • What a great hook!

  • I haven't paid any attention to Bruce Springsteen for so many years, and then I heard this song on the radio yesterday. I thought it had to be an old 1970's nugget that I'd never heard. When I heard it was a new song, it blew my mind. This song is so good and Bruce sounds half his age. Good on him!!!

  • what a great song title : P

  • can't understand why this doesn't get the air play it should!!!!!

  • thats why hes the boss !

  • It´s summer here. A sunny day today and there's a lot to watch at. They´re passing by....

  • i agree this will be a classic....simply a great song

  • Great song. Always puts me in a great mood. Beachy feel but not too "pop" like Lets Be Friends.

  • hahahahahaahahahahahahaha

  • I pick so many girls up to this song..just cruise up next to them with this going and it drives them wild..

  • Thanks for the biggest bullshit I've heard all day!

  • Me too man, me too.

  • Ironic, its kind of a sad song.

  • beautiful, breezy song that also has a little heartache. awesome.

  • Underrated classic

  • classic?? its only a year or two old!

  • at 2:33 & 2:43 you can tell he is in ocean grove NJ......the little fish & bait shop on the edge of the pier...

  • the best of bruce!!!

  • super........bruce.........

  • le grandi canzoni hanno pochi accordi... ma solo se sei un "grande" non risultano banali.!

  • Wildwood, NJ? Ocean City, MD... and Rehobeth Beach, DE... and Virginia Beach, VA... and Topsail Island, NC... it's timeless and without boundaries.

  • Don't forget Ocean City, NJ. I love that beach town.

  • è bellissima. quante cose mi ricorda questa canzone! mi vengono le lacrime agli occhi *_*

  • inarrivabile.................. il più grande!

  • Hardcore Springsteen fan since I was 14. My older brothers turned me on to him when The River came out in 1980. I'd like to think my Bruce creds are in order. This is one of the best songs he's recorded. I love it. How can this song have gotten no radio airplay?

  • The radio station are full of shit and play Boston 24/7. Forget about, put on your earphones and dream away......

  • It got the award for BEST ROCK SONG of 2008! I love it! Wonderful memories of all our summers down in Wildwood, NJ! Rock on Bruce!!!

  • The song got a little action here in michigan...

  • Love those wildwood, nj days

  • just love this video. reminds me of all the generations we have had at wildwood, new jersey. Gotta love us girls, baby, kids, moms, gramoms

  • FUCK ALL THE HATERS bRUCE ROCKS!

  • Bruce wouldn't appreciate the way you worded your sentiments.

  • The Great American Poet

  • Cross over the lost and found........ Haven't thought about that since Catholic School 45 years ago. I love the way this guy writes.

  • Yo escucho Manacor International!!

  • I just love watching his video . If you havn't seen him Live you really must go. Bruce and the E Street band good heath the rest of the tour Love you guys

  • loveit

  • Can't wait to see girls in their summer clothes :-)

  • never say never

  • Springsteen remains relevant, remains a musical genius. How lucky we are to live in his times. Rock on, Boss!

  • Musical genius?

  • Without doubt mate. For yrs i had John Lennon as the greatest ever songwriter. But Springsteen's form in the last ten yrs coupled wit his amazing back catalogue has him overtake the great Lennon for me.

  • Love this song. Its my favorite from the magic CD. I saw him last friday and am still in a haze. AMAZING performer. I have been a fan since i was 10 years old and first heard Thunder Road. AMAZING talent.

  • Your probably in a haze because the mass quanities of weed you toked.

  • never have, never will.

  • The Boss...He's one of a kind, for sure :)

  • Bruce is the Boss! And we all dream about girls in their summer clothes.

  • Yeah, and eventually they pass us by.

  • great boss , choot fad song hai

  • RobertMurph hit it right on the head.

  • This song is a Rock classic. Just like Roy Orbison's "Pretty Woman", it is the instant panacea when you're down.

  • You're so right!! That's a perfect way to describe it! Thanks!

  • Good sir, you are too kind. ;-)

  • Good song.

    Nice.

  • He looks like Johnny Cash when they show him holding up his guitar.

  • This song is about an old man ogling young girls. Bruce Springsteen may be an entertainer first, but he's also a person. And as a person, he feels obligated to do what's right, ESPECIALLY after the Born in the USA fiasco. Either way, if you have a problem with his politics, pick a political song to complain about.

  • agreed but I think it's about aging

  • Why should Bruce Springsteen stay out of the political arena? He's a citizen and has as much right, and obligation, to stand up and make his voice heard as any of us. And if his voice is louder than most people's because of his celebrity, well, we all use the tools we have.

You're free to disagree with his political opinions and argue against them, but I'm not sure why you think he just ought to not express them.

  • schlechter klang aber sehr gutes lied

  • The "Edge of Town" was mentined in this song? What's the relation Bruce??

  • this song sounds like the song "Goodbye Girl" from the band Bread. I bet they are going to sue Bruce on copyright violation.

  • Who the hell would sue the Boss.

  • anyone who would be jealous enough of him.

  • That would be like Vanilla Ice trying to sue the Beatles.

Get a life, you freaking loser.

  • greatest legend music has ever seen

  • love this xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • To my Dear friend Daphne, you left to soon.

  • i love this song it make me feel happy

  • Bruce, you're simply the best..

    From Italy.. :)

  • Davvero una bellissima canzone!

  • grandissima!!!

  • great video

  • he really deserves the title "the boss" truly a great musician

  • One of the best...:)

  • bruce springsreen music will always be much better then today music.

  • dude, this song is recent...it is part of today's music...but I know what you mean...most of today's stuff sucks.

  • new and old songs by bruce springsteen are great..i do have working on a dream and magic cd.

  • nah I love todays music just not whats popular or on the radio but I mean really as Bruce fans can attest when has radio=good music?

  • fantastic song

  • Could this be the best song he's ever recorded? Brilliant in my book

  • Better than Long walk home? Anyway, it' s hard to find a Springsteen's song better than others.

  • god bless the boss!

  • I aspire to be as cool as Bruce...someday.

  • How nice and beautiful. He understands women well. He knows why us girls wear pretty summer cloths. To get your attention : )

  • I agree, what a tasteful change from that whole rap-girl nonsense.

  • America at its best...he is one of em...love him forever....can't get enough of him....Bruce we love ya...

  • Hey, amysauers, you're so right - this could be a Magnetic Fields song! i dunno, something about the melody..and i guess, the vocals, too, come to think of it, that all seems vaguely familiar...

  • This one is so Magnetic Fields, Bruce.

  • Love those Jersey girls

  • $50MM on Climate Change? Dude, Bruce would get a better ROI if he bet it all on red in Atlantic City.

  • Well, given that it's a "donation" (i.e., money you are guaranteed not to see again) versus an "investment" (i.e., funds you expect to grow), I'm not sure that "ROI" is really a relevant concern of his.

  • killer vid! *****!

  • I love how they showed young girls and more mature women in this video. The 'beautiful loser' character here is democratic, and wise, and best of all, content.

  • One of my all-time favorite Springsteen songs

  • Comment removed

  • bruce springsteen ="THE" boss !

  • Boss yang sangat baik, tidak ada yang lebih besar di musik sekarang

  • It's a great song, but it doesn't sound like his voice, does it? It sounds like either his voice has changed or it's been doctored up.

  • What is with you people? Why does politics have to come in to it at all?

    Just listen.

  • Beautiful song, Bruce. Melody has nostalgic shades of "Kids Are Alright" and drones on with a glorious melancholy bringing a tear to my eye.

  • if its so shit y did u search 4 it??

  • omg!! you can smell the hate....sorry u guys or whatever you are, jus go back to listening to ur Jonas Brothers an jus enjoy life...this isn't really that important...

  • great song great album

    Magic is a Fantastic Album

  • bruce springsteen is the greatest singer and songwriter of the wold

  • there just songs, songs for everybody! yer all dip shits!!!

  • não dá para copiar para o HI5 é pena queria que todos os meus amigos ouvissem o Bruce.hummm não gostei desta atitude!!!Lol mas adoro esta pessoa

  • Radio Nowhere won the grammy. Dipshits.

  • Amazing. Only the Boss. Can't stop listening to it. Well said, not for kids. Brilliant.

  • You folks need to calm down. Why are you so hostile over a pop tune? Now, about the song: if you're young, you may not have the perspective to "get" this song because it addresses the bittersweet experience of aging. If you don't understand, no explanation is possible; if you do, no explanation is necessary.

  • Yeah, this is one of Bruce's sweet bittersweet songs and I'm glad it got a Grammy. I love the whole MAGIC album, but this is the song I put on "repeat". Peace!

  • great !!!

    grazie Alberto

  • If you think this is "crap"...the songs you mention is "shit"

  • The song is fucking great. Are you suprised that not every winner will be by someone you get

  • Critics murdered this album when it came out but I love it. Its a shame people can't get passed politics, you would think we live in some communist country where you aren't free to say something.

  • Love this song--a very reminiscent quality to it. A bit 80s, a bit oldies...beautiful, fun, and happy. Simpler times and simpler ways.

  • babadoo, what a ridiculous comment.Just because Bruce hated George Bush and all he stood for didn't mean he hated America. He has always written about the lives of people that Bush and his cronies despised not the rich bankers who have ruined the american economy.

  • Joe, rich bankers have not ruined America. Government mandates that everyone get a govt secured mortgage bid up the price of homes into the bubble that burst causing our current problem. Bush gave the most $ to international aids relief, no-child-left-behind, biggest perscription drug bill, etc. You've been drinking the liberal koolaid. Born In the USA isn't a proud anthem. It's all about complaining.

  • You have a problem. Are you one of those uptight "liberals ruin my life, kill them all, and hand me my money while your at it" people? Cause' you sure sound like one.

  • Thank you, I agree completely. :)

  • He has made some rockin' songs, but this is not one of them. Cliche production and sound. Too bad his hate America politics get in the way of enjoying his work.

  • Ahah, he never claims to hate America. It was George Bush's polotics and views he hated. It's really sad when someone comes on to a video on Youtube just to post a comment on a video of an artist they want to complain about.

  • There is NOTHING more American than Bruce!!He stands for all that is positive about America, & the things he's against are corporate greed, endless war,& the elite wealthy sticking it to middle America. This guy has had the same play book since he first hit the scene in 1973!!!Don't get it twisted:Bruce Springsteen has the type of credibility, substance & character that represents all of the greatness of the American people.Where as the religious-right,& neo-conservatism have sank this country!

  • yep i agree with you an im from the uk lol but well said you guys should av put him in the whitehouse maybe ? anyway great song great artist end of !!

  • Great song! i wait for Bruce in italy.

P.s who is the fantastic black girl in time 1:13 to 1:15 i am in love for her ...please help me.

    thanx

  • Great song, great album, tottaly deserved grammy award.

  • Awesome song! Glad the Grammy's got it right for once!

  • bruce springsteen rox! but this stuff is way overrated

  • cubansensation: Sensational insight there my strength in numbers friend.

I suppose U think Madonna can sing!?!

  • Yes all the tens of millions of albums sold, sellout shows for 30 plus years, legions of fans worldwide and countless awards are all based on his mediocrity. Right. You have a right to your wrong opinion.

  • You are clearly an idiot. When people like mick jagger and bono say they wish they had what he has on stage then you know mediocrity has long since been left behind. Like 1972. Loser.

  • congrats on the grammy bruce!!!

  • Just won "Best Rock Song"

  • I seriously think i'll cry the day this man dies xD

  • True he must never die

  • What a beautiful song..he's still got what it takes with the lyrics!

  • Nice Song Bruce......

  • one of my favourite songs of 2008

  • The snow will melt...and summer will be here soon.

  • Love this! Listen to this every time I do my "mile walk" every morning on the Magic CD!

  • Great theme

  • This song seems to be more about growing old than it is about being a young buck enjoying the sights- remember they "pass me by". I see an aging man, past his prime, strolling in the twilight hoping to rekindle the past, but all the pretty girls pass him by. What he realizes is that his Summer is over, yet Summer still ignites those past memories and passions- but most of all that life goes on without him. I think this would be a perfect song to play on repeat as you commit suicide.

  • lifeinapod: Nice take on the song. I understand it to be about a soldier who is about to be deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan.

  • thats also an interesting take. I see it simply as nostalgia. I'm gonna keep this cd till im 55, and play it whenever I need to remember my youth

  • I Love Bruce (and I dig this song, for the most part)...that said, no one should EVER use the cliche "she cut me like a knife" in a song lyric, not never, not no how. It's an automatic crapola indicator, especially someone of Springsteen's stature.

C'mon Boss...you know better than that. You're the Rock and Roll Poet "Laureate".

  • so what is acceptable to you? give it a break--how could anyone write a song with you being and editor and a critic-silly person!!!

  • get over yourself!

  • OMG 4:07 is sooo cute!!! :D

  • and a little bit cheeky!

  • Another great one!

  • make me feel nostalgy from my strange but strong pass

  • Fantastic song from this ICONIC legend.

  • this song was playing during my first kiss.

And i was actually AT the Jersey Shore at the time

  • wow i am jelous of you

  • no joke, best night of my life

  • I love this man. He can do no wrong for me.

Saw him in Dublin last Summer and he dedicated it to all us Irish girls in the audience.
