  • Poor kitty.

  • 23 dislikes, haters!!!

  • Oh poo on cruelty... I have a Cornish Rex and she gets yeasty if she doesn't get a bath every couple of weeks. Oh and she hates it and makes the most pitiful noises..... it is cruel not to bathe your rex.

  • That cat doesn't seem really happy about being washed.... Now the other cats I've seen on here really do enjoy bath time! I just think this cat wants out as soon as!

  • That's it. I am so getting this cat.

  • I love Cornish rexs

  • Aweee!!! Thats so adorable!! That just made my night :D

  • Aaaaawww, what a good baby!!!

  • ITS A WET PUSSY!

  • Awwwwww..... She looks like my cat! She is a cornish rex too!

  • sound like he says im wet!!!! then help!!! then go awayyyyyy!!!!!

  • People need to know that rex cats need to be bathed in order to remove oil buildup on their skin most effectively. He is doing the cat a service.

  • just watched again. if my cat did that I'd call a priest for exorcism. and I'm not even Catholic. yeeesh. I have the heeby jeebies.

  • kitty says"I'M WET"!

  • It sounds like it is saying "HELP!!!" xD'

  • At certain points it sounds like "Go Away!"

  • no matter how much you cry and struggle, kitty, you are having a bath and that's final.

  • I think he's wet...

  • None my business but I've read that when you bathe a cat you aren't to wet their heads.

  • When I give my Cornish Rex a bath, I thank God for medical insurance...right after I see my life passing before my eyes.

  • My cornish rex does the same thing! Sometimes she can sound like a man screaming, its unreal!

  • Poor cat IM WET!

  • Aww, cute lil Kitty. Well behaved under the circumstances

  • when i give our cornish rex a bath or try to she starts spazzing out and meowing so loud and try to claw me with her back nails to death so then we give her treats and she is all better same with ears and nails :)

  • dear god thats annoying

  • hehe! That cat seemed surprisingly well behaved while having its bath. I would have expected it to be getting a bit more upset! Seems like a nice cat:)

  • @funkycatglasses01

From what I can tell, it probably is bathed frequently, and isn't scared of the owner's business-like bathing routine. The cat's very unhappy, but not panicked.

  • @DTownzz awwww! The cat even got praise at the end for being so well behaved during it's bath!!!!!

  • There are a couple of times where I distinctly hear him saying, "I'm wet, damnit!"

  • Hahaha. to me, it sounds more like its enjoying the bath. i have a neighbor who owns 3 or 4 cornish rex cats. heard they were terribly expensive.

  • I love how he says, "I'm wet". He sounds like a kid. It is so cute. I love the sound of cats meowing. I can listen over and over. It is just so cute.

  • Awwww, poor kitty. I'm sure he'll forgive you for this terrible indignity...eventually. :)

  • @Nefer1769 Not really you know what is cruel though... when people purposfully kill maim drown a cat a dog or anythong other living thing.. giving a bath to something that probably is dirty is not Animal Cruelty... and get off your high horse...

  • @Nefer1769 You've obviously never owned a cat before. A cat can have a bath every once in a while, not as much as dogs but every now and than. It's good for their fur and gets rid of dander. If this is animal cruelty than every groomer that deals with cats has to be arrested.

  • @Nefer1769

I understand you being upset, he sounds so pitiful but truly this is not not cruelty, Cornish as well as Devon rex have very short hair therefore they must be washed or they end up smelling like a sweaty dog, Because their sknin become so oliy, if they are not washed, they can get a skin infection. , also their ears must be clean ed weekly as they get a rapid wax build up.ask any vet, they will let you know this is a normal periodical for Rex cats as well as Spinx's

  • @Nefer1769

    ALL CAPS SCREAMING!!! ON YOUTUBEEE!!!!

Seriously, lighten up. This is a very good bather, IMO. It's no more cruel then a mom combing her child's hair. Cats are nasty and should be washed.

  • The most pitifully adorable thing I have ever seen. It defanatly sounds like he is saying "I'm wet"

  • this doesn't sound like the cat

  • Some dirty minds might find a way to make this into some obscure joke lol.

  • I've always wondered why cats aren't fond of water.

  • @promagnum Cats dont like water because their ancestors were desert animals.. This is also why they bury their feces in "sand" to hide their scent from predators.

  • Awwwww D: the cat sounds so mournful. Must be very well-loved because any cat who isn' tbeing treated well would've started fighting. You must be very turstworthy owners :)

  • I liked the part where the cat said "I'M WET!"

  • Kawaaaa

  • If I wasn't actualy watching the video and just listning, I'd think it was a human child yelling.

  • Oh my, he's really talking! x3

  • hes not really sayin im wet BTW

  • @zip152

We know. But it sure sounds like it.

  • I've never had to wash my cat. He always cleans himself and never smells unlike my dog.

  • My cousin developed a cat allergy after owning her cat for six months. She's had allergy shots and he is neutered, (which may help with cat allergies in addition to preventing unwanted litters). She keeps a clean home but she still reacts to his dander & saliva. She bathes him regularly to help with this and in turn, she keeps her health and he keeps his loving home. Bathing a cat is not the worst thing in the world folks. That is all.

  • LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM WET!

  • IMMM WWWWEEEEETTTT!! LOL i LOVE IT!

  • He's really quite reserved, even if he is yelling for help! That was a fast and efficient bath - just the way it has to be with a cat. Good Job!

  • Cats are surprisingly able to learn things like diplomacy and gentleness from the humans whom they own. It seems like Gustav understands that those crazy humans aren't really trying to harm him. Thus, he chooses the path of voicing his concerns while not attempting to harm those who are dear to him. For something that's got those four sets of claws and sharp teeth behind a powerful jaw (20% more leverage than a dog's), this is quite a bit of self-restraint!

  • So Cute! Sounds like my friend's cat. XD

  • I'll never get tired of this video. xD

  • Poor kitty!! But, yes, this breed does need to be bathed frequently. The look of disgust on his face is classic!

  • 0:07

    I'MMMMMMMMMMM WET!

  • Thats sad, yet extremely hilarious XD

  • stackarn!!!

  • LOL "IM WET"

  • LOL FUNNNNYY mai cat only gives out "feel sorry for meh" anoyying meows

    X3 XD

  • From what I see, the cat is being treated kindly by the person bathing it. He isn't being doused with water or splashed in the face intentionally. Plus, this breed needs bathing fairly regularly as they tend to be a bit oily. I have a Cornish rex too.

  • @sydco10 arent rexs great?

  • @sydco10 I agree with everything you say except the "He's not being wet in the face intentionally" yeah he is. The guy is taking the shower head and pouring the water over his head. Washing a cat, like a dog, you're not supposed to pour water over their heads. Especially not the way he was doing that

  • @sydco10 OMG!! LOL - every few times he TRULY sounds like he's saying IM WET!! LOLOL -

and yes cats get baths too - and the person bathing him is doing it nicely and just trying to get it over with for the little fellow -

some cats actually LOVE baths - i had a manx and he would get in the shower WITH me! LOLOL -

ad i've heard Turkish Vans love water too -

  • My cat used to sleep under the hoods of cars, for the warmth. He'd come home covered with engine goo, ao I'd give him a bath. I'd use the degreasing soap that I kept in my shop. I'd rub a bunch of it into his fur and then take him into the shower with me. He HATED it the first time, but after that, he was cool. The first time I used the hair dryer on him he started to freak, but, as soon as he felt the warm air, he was alright with that, too!

    Norm

  • ahahahahaahahhah so funny!!

  • GrapeSoda, my girls have a bit of a skin condition so my Cat vet told me to use Nizoral dandruff shampoo (I got it at the grocery store). They really cleaned up well and it even removes the black gunk that builds up on their nails. For fleas, Adams is very good and love the way the cats smell afterwards.

  • Dawn, these cats are drama queens when it comes to bathing. But this breed do need baths. I bathe my 3 every 2 months, except in exceptionally cold weather.

  • What shampoo do you use? I have a Cornish Rex too and she stinks.

  • sorry, meant to give you a thumbs up. I'm new to YouTube. You had a valid question. And they do stink when they aren't bathed. And my husband loves cats, but dirty cats causes his allergies to flare up. This breed isn't for everyone, they are higher maintenance than other cats. There are a few things about this video that I don't like. I bathe my cats in sinks, 1 for washing and 1 for rinse. Bathtub is too big, scares them. Washrag for head and face. Cotton swabs for ears.

  • amazing! is this real? he clearly says, over and over, I'm wet! I'm wet! I'mmmmmm wweeetttttt! that is so cool! thanks for sharing!

  • NO! I'M WET!

    I lol'd so hard.

  • Cornish Rex cats can use an occasional bath, especially the almost hairless ones that are almost hairless... like a Sphynx. These kitties can get a cheesy smell.

I do recommend not letting water get on their faces or in ears. A cotton ball lightly coated with vaseline can be put in their ears during the bath.

  • I don't know why all these comments about torturing a cat. The cat is being waterboarded? lol come on people it's just water, besides I know cats clean themselves but they still stink. This is not hurting the cat at all. You guys are so sensitive.

  • i'mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm wettttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @realisticHomeboy

I'm sorry to say some cats like their Cornish Rex do need baths regularly, because of the buildup of sebaceous secretions. All cats produce these normal oily secretions, but Cornish rex don't have as much hair to absorb them as ordinary cats. Allowed to collect, these oily secretions can make the coat look greasy and can even cause skin problems.

and this is to everybody who says this is "cruel and tourture" its not. even vets wash cats. So learn something before speaking.

  • "even vets wash cats."

I think you need to think a little yourself.

Just because a vet does it, doesn't make it any better.

  • so you would want a cat that has fleas, dirt, grime and skin infections when you go to a buy one from a ASPCA, pet store, or anywhere else. Cats do need a bath, some more then others. If you pick up a cat from the streets, would you want him to stay with fleas and ticks that might carry a harmful virus? Vets need to wash any animal so it doesn't spread anything it might have to other animals. They might even have to wash it because it has a infected cut. Just like people who own cats might need

  • wash their cats because of the cats gentics like the Cornish Rex or a elderly cat who cannot clean himself anymore. Or a cat that had gotton into oil or something harmful that they cannot lick.

  • You seem to already understand that it's only in special circumstances that a cat would need a bath (or for very specific breeds). So there's really not much to argue. The problem is all the people who thinks that their cat needs to be bathed regularly, when they don't need it AT ALL, and puts them through this terror for no reason (except the few cats that actually like the water).

  • Thats what I was trying to say in the first place in my first comment. And it wasn't just towards you either. I'm not saying to wash a cat everyday, I say maybe two times a month to get rid of the grime and build up he might have. But even though it might seem like its tourture, its not. It not like the cat is flipping around trying to bite and scratch(even though it trys to leave but all cats try to escape) and the guy isn't hitting or forcefuly grabbing it to make him stay still.

  • Wow, now you are just being ignorant.

Cats generally NEVER need a bath.

What the hell does this have to do with picking up a stray cat form the street?

Are you retarded. I already said that it's only in very rare circumstances that a cat would need a bath. So your examples of these circumstances where a vet might need to do that are COMPLETELY irrelevant.

The point about what is wrong with your thinking is that you think that just because a vet does something, it must absolutely be good.

  • I 'am not be ignorant, your the one being ignorant. All I said was that this cat does need baths regularly because of buildup. A simple fact. I'm not saying its a everyday thing they have to do.

So what are these rare circumstances that a cat would need a bath...tell me

  • No, what you said was "even vets wash cats", as if anything a vet does must for sure be good.

It call you on that false statement, and you start going off about all kinds of irrelevant stuff.

As I said, you seem to understand that cats don't need baths.

  • yes I said that even vets wash cats...but like I also said its not all the time. when they usaually get a cat in that was a stray or even a house cat not wanted any more, they wash it to make sure its clean(and with and after check-up) its ready for a new home.

I've seen cats from some homes being brought in and they would have stuff stuck in thier fur and if they had white fur it would be gray from lack of care.

  • Like my dirty aunt and her black and white kitten she use to have. She let its white fur turn a grimy gray.

  • Then it's a sick cat!

I grew up with several cats. They never got a bath in their life. Not one ever had any kind of health problem. They did not smell, they were not dirty and they did not have flees. Only thing they ever needed to see a vet for, was to get castrated/steralized and one time one had gotten a cut.

They were cats that got to go in and out as they please, so it's not that they didn't get exposed to the outside environment.

  • it wasn't sick, my aunt was just dirty. And I know what your talking about with your cats. My sisters mainecoon goes outdoors, but then again she lives in the suburbs. Were I live we are infested with feral cats that have fleas and if a cat that we own goes out will contact fleas or some how get into the auto repair shop across the street and get oil on them or brick dust.

  • I grew up with cats too, none really needed a bath, but then again none went outside. They didn't smell or get dirty...unless they explore the dirt room in the basement...(this was at my parents house/ I live with mt boyfriend)

  • a cat never needs a bath!!! thats terrible for the cat....... asshole!

  • lol he enjoys it so much he tries to get away

  • Oh my God! This cat looks just like my Penny cat!!!!!!! Penny passed away a yr ago and she was a cornish rex. Thanks for the smiles and the memories ....20 ys of memories...... I miss you old cat

  • Doesn't look like he enjoys it, but cats need baths too. *Shrugs* Love it! I remember seeing a clip on TV, where a cat was saying "DOOOON'T" when he was being put in the water. LOL

  • Very funny! This is the best cat bath I have witnessed and he's so good about it too.

  • aww so cute^^

  • "im wet!" hahahah how weird!! animals can make the weirdest noises sometimes :)

  • "enjoys?" i see no enjoyment in there LOL

  • I love her Cornish Rex with the velvet coat and lovely temperment. Your cat is the best! After that bath I bet the kitty is smashing!

  • hah, so funny, to those ppl saying that your shouldnt bathe this cat should stop because you are supposed to bathe cornish rex's once and a while. believe me, my rex protests when i bathe her too, but trust me, she smells much better afterwards :P

  • Best youtube comment EVER.

  • I heared several times ,loud and clearly: "GO AWAY" So please listen carefully again!

  • Great!!! But it doesn;'t look that Gustave only enjoys))) As if he's protesting - I'm wet! take me out of the bath))) And can he say other words?

  • hahahahaa so cute, ROFL

  • hahahahahaha it actually says it hahahaha

  • Yeah he really seems to enjoy it, about as much as mine does.

  • i have a question. Do you think that it is a good idea to get the face wet? When I bathe my cats I never get their faces wet.
