Technically, the second and third try doesn't count because there was salt in both of the cups since you didn't take off the salt in the hair clips.
@ElastoChild The experiment still worked, even so: even after several trips back and forth, the clips were still floating in saltwater and sinking in the less-salty water. Do you understand why?
