i have an 04 gt did the exact same thing. i can vouch for the power boost as i had had mine for a year before i did it and knew the car how it launched shifted etc and i noticed a difference. heavyghost is right though, my wife has a gto i did a full exhaust on and it sounds good but you cant beat the way a ford sounds going down the road.

Its only in the low end torque range where back pressure can be beneficial, its a fairly complicated concept, but theoretically as back pressure occurs, a slight vacuum is made as the exhaust exits, allowing the exhaust to be pulled from the cylinder head on the next explosion...Again, this concept only applies to the low end power band.

its more than just "backpressure", but yes this is correct. On a two stroke with a correctly tuned exhaust and expansion chamber, the previous exhaust charge pulls exhaust gases from the cylinder, without pulling fresh gas vapor into the exhaust as well. remember there are no valves on a 2 stroke, so you can't just simply close them at the correct time to stop this from happening. Its a very complicated subject that is difficult to explain in 500 words lol

I have an 03 mustang gt.. The exhaust is dumped before the axle with 2 borla s-type muffflers spliced in.. It doesnt sound all raspy like flows do... Mite try that, i get compliments all the time.. I just ordered an offroad x to see if it will make it louder without making it raspy..
