I can't even see Iqbal through far away distances, when I think of Mirza Ghalib. To me poetry should be a mirrior of the common mistakes, address the issues of a day to day life, it can't be political, religious nor arising. And this guys poetry is all about that. Its so well said, "Hain aur bhi dunya, Sukhanwar bahut achai Kehtai hai kai Ghalib ka hai, andaz bayan aur".

Bachay, I am Afghan and I can speak the language that every classic urdu poet would be famous if he could do poetry in, the Persian. And I hope you know that Urdu comes mostly from Persian, so Persian is like mother to urdu. And if you know Iqbals most poetry was in Persian. I know more about poetry because I understand the mother language to urdu, and this poetry of Shikwa/Jawab, is nothing more than the poetry you see on every ugly dirty looking bus in Pakistan, which i call truck shairy.

In my opinion he was the most ardent separtist whose very teaching (European and Germanic) and indeed proaction was led to creation of (responsible) Northwest frontier region in todays Pakistan. When i took alama iqbal in high school i didnt realize the impact or intensity of his work but now when i'm all grown up i would study his work pretty much 7 days a week. Its amazing, imagine what must have gone through his mind to come up with work like this? God, look at the level of SINCERITY in his work.
