It uses a satellite radar system. Therefor it can target an opposing aircraft and that aircraft will never know. It is the only plane on Earth that can fly at mach 1.5 without using afterburners. Hate to disappoint you, but the Su-30 is in active service and the thrust vectoring systems are now on all modern Flanker and fulcrum series aircraft, save for the Su-34.

@MegaServantofgod No the F-117 wasnt in ful stealth mode,besides the radar cross section was to big for it period.And the little sneaky russian and chinese rats stole that and now brings forth the T-50 and J-20.STealth is more suited to a large bomber such as the B-2.And its proved to be extremely small on radar if not then the size of a small bug.The F-22 is very stealthy to,same with the F-35,and F-15SE.You ASUME the SU-37 is better but russian pilots are poor flyers short and simple.
@1bearcatf8f There is no mode for stealth. What did you mean? Stealth concept is from Nazi Germany and invented by Russians. B-2 bomber is a copy from Nazi Germany aircraft project. F-22 can stay stealthy but cant do any kind of attack. If their radar is on then its a hot target for enemy aircraft. And F-22 cant perform a close combat even with Mig-21.

Gent/ladies, the best fighter aircraft is not just about manueverbility - which is good in close combat. The rest of the factors; how many weapons it can carry, how good it is in seeking the advesaries, can he defend itself from others, how small the aicraft is in the eye of radar (stealthy), how long it can fly in without refuelling.... and many more. Remember, air-to-air weapons/missiles now can shoot you from hundreds miiles away.

@mrbluemagik1 It's not about how fast you lock on to the target, which has no room for improvement since the first generation, but from how afar, which is provided by AESA radars and new long range missiles which Russians have as well. The missile still can be outmaneuvered. Now, considering that there is a limited number of missiles and both being fired roughly from same distance , the one who dodges more of them wins. Jamming is just a joke not worth responding to.
@klin1klinom in air combat jet to reach higher alltitude has bigger advantage to shoot first and leave ,russsia does not have advanced components and outdated tracking radars, they have good missiles but limited amount, they have lots of sam;s and ground based anti air vehicles america has vey advanced components, pilots with more flight hours and bigger air force. russian jets are faster but limited to their fuel range and forward control. america has weapons we dont even know about.
Lets compare the AESA-equipped F-15E to a PESA equipped Su-30M
F-15 has fractionally faster max-speed, has much longer radar range and thats about it. The extra radar range is really useless since both will detect each other at ranges way outside the missile range.
Su-30M has faster, longer ranging (R-27ET/ER/EP) missiles, IRST that can be used like a radar for IR guided missiles, longer range, higher maneuverability, pitch rates.

Contemporary radars are harder to jam but the data-link to missile or radar of a missile is much simpler to jam especially by the modern jamming pod that uses DRFM technology and has ESA to direct the jamming signals. Russians use Sorbtsia-S L-005 pods designed to "cross-eye" jam in both front and rear hemi-spheres so jamming is done from 2 directions by one plane. However the smart missiles have passive modes which use the very jamming for guidance (R-27EP)

OLS-30 can see such plume from approx 30km. The moment AB is lit then that grows to much bigger range.

@mrbluemagik1 When plane goes supersonic, the sonic booms are very hot and are huge flashes to IR detectors. Also from what range are IR seekers meant to lock on? from 30km any missile will see the plume. Especially modern seekers. Once Archer/AIM-9X/Python5/ASRAAM and alike are launched they WILL NOT miss. As for BVR missiles with IR they are data-link guided until within the 15-20km range and then IR guidance kicks in.

LMAO this stupid plane can maneuver all it wants. Russians are 20 years behind the west and even Kremlin knows it, that's why they are buying 3000 Iveco LMV's, Mistrals, and a ton of other stuff from NATO. Maneuverability is 20th century. The SU-37 costs the russians a fraction of the cost of the F22 and what the russians got for their money was the ability to defend their own country. (Rather invading other peoples) The F22 which is a 20 year old design, despite it's astronomical cost already has avionics and radars that are a generation behind and the F35 sacrificed speed and stealth for lower cost.

@normalais lol how do you think a plane evades missiles ? with maneuvaribility :D :D it's called momentum exhaust - a rocket looses it's speed because the plane changes it's direction fast. the missiles's calculation of trajectory's. if a plane flies in 90 degrees infront, the rocket you fire will fly 45 degrees to left or right to catch up the plane's vector. if a plane maneuvers the missile goes in intensive Gs thus lowering it's speed eventually and falling -> it's called missile evasion...
@normalais the long range missiles gain speed untill they use all their fuel so they end up with like 5000km/h but when the fuel ends they use the momentum left, which is not in a small range. when a plane does a certain type of evasion maneuver the missile goes nuts from left to right and up and down it even goes in to the ground if a plane dives hard -> simply inefective against skilled pilots :D so dogfights are still in use a lot today.. good luck with your tin cans :D

It uses a satellite radar system. Therefor it can target an opposing aircraft and that aircraft will never know. It is the only plane on Earth that can fly at mach 1.5 without using afterburners. Whatever aircraft the F/A-22 goes up against won't even know it's there untill too late. Better do some research.

@eretuev the F-22 is not"cancelled",cancelled would imply giving up entirely the F-22 and scrapping every F-22 we have,but we ARNT we just arnt building anymore because they are expensive.and it took the russians 21 years to come up with the T-50 after we made the F-22,and the Mi-28 is NOTHING compared to the AH-64D(i actually just taught another ignorant person that using hard facts),and even the Ka-50 looses in many categories(even though it took another 25 years for that to come out XD)LOL!!!

@MegaServantofgod The SU-30 is nothing to the F-22,India relys on good planes not good pilots.Thats the problem with air forces.The US has top notch pilots,many are combat vets and know a thing or two about fighting.The F-22 would easily dominate the SU-30 because of its stealth.If the EF-2000 faced the SU-30 it would win because the EF-2000 is a simble of British engineering at its finest.

@1bearcatf8f Stealth as a tech has failed my friend, even the base series of s 300 can detect and bring her down, proof of it was in kosovo, s75 brings down the stealth, its become obsolete with the invent of stronger defence and awac shields, the rest of the comparisons are on BVR(which i,m sure both planes do have), maneuverability, Its fact that both the su 30s and su 37, forget the FGFA, are much better than the f22, indians use better pilots(eg, red flag, cope India exercises)

@MegaServantofgod No the F-117 wasnt in ful stealth mode,besides the radar cross section was to big for it period.And the little sneaky russian and chinese rats stole that and now brings forth the T-50 and J-20.STealth is more suited to a large bomber such as the B-2.And its proved to be extremely small on radar if not then the size of a small bug.The F-22 is very stealthy to,same with the F-35,and F-15SE.You ASUME the SU-37 is better but russian pilots are poor flyers short and simple.

@1bearcatf8f There is no mode for stealth. What did you mean? Stealth concept is from Nazi Germany and invented by Russians. B-2 bomber is a copy from Nazi Germany aircraft project. F-22 can stay stealthy but cant do any kind of attack. If their radar is on then its a hot target for enemy aircraft. And F-22 cant perform a close combat even with Mig-21.
You are the only one who find Russian pilots are poor!! Even USAF accept that Russian pilots are highly skilled and professionals.

Gent/ladies, the best fighter aircraft is not just about manueverbility - which is good in close combat. The rest of the factors; how many weapons it can carry, how good it is in seeking the advesaries, can he defend itself from others, how small the aicraft is in the eye of radar (stealthy), how long it can fly in without refuelling.... and many more. Remember, air-to-air weapons/missiles now can shoot you from hundreds miiles away.

@radzey966 therz is no stealth technology as such..if ur referring to the F22, it is easily detected by the NAM bar radars in the su 30 , su 37 series..plus also the s 300, s 400 triumph..SAMs..forget russia..evn indian Su 30s, can detect stealth..AAMs can be easily jammed with powerful radars from the Su 30, 37 series..they can refuel..not ure about the payload..but the plane looks huge..so it all boils down to a dogfight..i,m in it with the ruskies..

@mrbluemagik1 It's not about how fast you lock on to the target, which has no room for improvement since the first generation, but from how afar, which is provided by AESA radars and new long range missiles which Russians have as well. The missile still can be outmaneuvered. Now, considering that there is a limited number of missiles and both being fired roughly from same distance , the one who dodges more of them wins. Jamming is just a joke not worth responding to.

@klin1klinom in air combat jet to reach higher alltitude has bigger advantage to shoot first and leave ,russsia does not have advanced components and outdated tracking radars, they have good missiles but limited amount, they have lots of sam;s and ground based anti air vehicles america has vey advanced components, pilots with more flight hours and bigger air force. russian jets are faster but limited to their fuel range and forward control. america has weapons we dont even know about.

Lets compare the AESA-equipped F-15E to a PESA equipped Su-30M
F-15 has fractionally faster max-speed, has much longer radar range and thats about it. The extra radar range is really useless since both will detect each other at ranges way outside the missile range.
Su-30M has faster, longer ranging (R-27ET/ER/EP) missiles, IRST that can be used like a radar for IR guided missiles, longer range, higher maneuverability, pitch rates.

Contemporary radars are harder to jam but the data-link to missile or radar of a missile is much simpler to jam especially by the modern jamming pod that uses DRFM technology and has ESA to direct the jamming signals. Russians use Sorbtsia-S L-005 pods designed to "cross-eye" jam in both front and rear hemi-spheres so jamming is done from 2 directions by one plane. However the smart missiles have passive modes which use the very jamming for guidance (R-27EP)

@mrbluemagik1 94% IR reduction? please give me the source. IR is IMPOSSIBLE to meaningfully reduce as the F-119 engines hot end has temperature of at least 1600 degrees C. To use your numbers then the exhaust temp becomes 96 degrees C. I tell you as an aircraft tech - your figure of 94% is a load of bull. Plume of hot gas can be seen whether you like it or not. OLS-30 can see such plume from approx 30km. The moment AB is lit then that grows to much bigger range.

@Spetsnazovets correct plume can be spotted, but F 22 and other newer engines are able to use supercruise, a term for speed of mach1.82, 1,963km/h for sustained times and 30% less fuel is needed, with onboard computers that are classifide,inferior radars are useless, usa also has e.m.p technology wich has been in service for at least 10 years.ir detection works but missiles cant find the source of heat. skin of F22 can also be applied on other jets making them 30 to 40 % undetechtable.

Also from what range are IR seekers meant to lock on? from 30km any missile will see the plume. Especially modern seekers. Once Archer/AIM-9X/Python5/ASRAAM and alike are launched they WILL NOT miss. As for BVR missiles with IR they are data-link guided until within the 15-20km range and then IR guidance kicks in.
EMP has to be directed to avoid frying own electronics. 10 years? source?

@mrbluemagik1 actually only 1 plane was reverse engineered (B-29), AIM-9A was and the rest was all Russian own design. Don't even try to talk about F-111 and Su-24 cos I'll roll you on the spot. T-50 and F-22 are vastly different.
US has used more then one part of MiG-25 when they got it. They also stole tech of Zaslon radar, T-72B and T-80U MBTs, got a sqn of German MiG-29s
Russia still has faster missiles(R-27ET/EP/ER), torpedoes (Shkval), ASMs that US can't surpass to this day for 15 years

X-band IRBIS hybrid ESA radars range is a match to APG-77.Once AESA is installed on IRBIS back end then it will beat APG-77

Russians are 20 years behind the west and even Kremlin knows it, that's why they are buying 3000 Iveco LMV's, Mistrals, and a ton of other stuff from NATO. Maneuverability is 20th century. Right now it is 2010. F-22 and F-35 make maneuverability irrelevant. And even if it was the best (which it is not) what have the poor Russia people gotten from all this military bullshit? Nothing.

The SU-37 costs the russians a fraction of the cost of the F22 and what the russians got for their money was the ability to defend their own country. (Rather invading other peoples) The F22 which is a 20 year old design, despite it's astronomical cost already has avionics and radars that are a generation behind and the F35 sacrificed speed and stealth for lower cost.

Russia went into South Ossetia which wanted to break away from Georgia and Join Russia as it is populated by Russians, Just like georgia broke away from the Soviet Union in 1990. Strangely Russia didn't fire artillery shells at Georgia when it broke away but Georgia decided to shell Tskhinvali.

@normalais lol how do you think a plane evades missiles ? with maneuvaribility :D :D it's called momentum exhaust - a rocket looses it's speed because the plane changes it's direction fast. the missiles's calculation of trajectory's. if a plane flies in 90 degrees infront, the rocket you fire will fly 45 degrees to left or right to catch up the plane's vector. if a plane maneuvers the missile goes in intensive Gs thus lowering it's speed eventually and falling -> it's called missile evasion...

@normalais the long range missiles gain speed untill they use all their fuel so they end up with like 5000km/h but when the fuel ends they use the momentum left, which is not in a small range. when a plane does a certain type of evasion maneuver the missile goes nuts from left to right and up and down it even goes in to the ground if a plane dives hard -> simply inefective against skilled pilots :D so dogfights are still in use a lot today.. good luck with your tin cans :D

Russian MRBMs with cluster munitions take out Airfields in Europe in case of NATO attack, Russian RSZO Smerch outranges MLRS by more then double, Russian tanks fire missiles and immobolize opponent tanks, S-300PM/VM with ESA radars are proven vastly superior to MIM-104, VHF (NOT X-band) AESA radars can see F-22 and can data-link with fighters to swarm F-22s as well as take them out with S-300 missiles. US Navy? Tu-22M3, Tu-95 use anti-ship missiles that beat all defenses
