  • beautiful... does anyone have the sheet music? the piece is pretty obscure...

  • This aria could have been written for her... Such a wonderful rendition!

  • WHAT AN ANGEL YOU ARE CECILIA! love you to death!

  • cecilia you sing this so beautifully. i love you!

  • For the ones that dint´t know,The King Pedro, demand that everyone kissed the hand of his beloved Ines after she was dead and crowned Queen, some say assassined.

This is one of the most saddest tales in the almost 1000 years of this beautiful Kingdom by-the-sea planted called Portugal.

Long live the King, long Live Portugal!!!!!!

We still waiting for the King Sebastião,lost in the sand os África,to save Portugal from the Tyrans...

  • absolutely fabulous!!

  • Thanks savean22 for sharing this track of the Opera INÊS DE CASTRO about a tragic love story between Inês and Pedro, the heir Prince to the throne of Portugal on the 14th century.

I did myself the translation of the sad words of Inês that Cecilia Bartoli sings so beautifuly:

    "My dear, quiet days

    My dear, quiet days

    of innocence and virtue,

you were short, you are no longer,

    nor return to shine.

    In pain, deep pain,

    my life dawned,

my day with twilight in pain will dusk.

  • Thank you very much mrimready for this lovely transation.

  • Anyone can help me to find this lyrics in English? I really wannt to know what she sing about ...such beautful, I listening again and again..

  • Exquisite beauty. Thank you.

  • Incredibly perfect.

  • this is bartoli's best. so pretty for her.

  • I would appreciate any further information on the opera or the lyrics to this wonderful aria. I can't think of another operatic diva, male or female, that I have learned more about new pieces of operatic arias than I have from Bartoli, who revived Mozart, Rossini, Handel, Gluck, et al. Brava, C.

  • I can't believe no one has commented on here! I adore this song. I'm so glad it's been uploaded the beginning bit is my default ringtone.

    I love Bartoli!
