Thanks savean22 for sharing this track of the Opera INÊS DE CASTRO about a tragic love story between Inês and Pedro, the heir Prince to the throne of Portugal on the 14th century.
I did myself the translation of the sad words of Inês that Cecilia Bartoli sings so beautifuly:

I would appreciate any further information on the opera or the lyrics to this wonderful aria. I can't think of another operatic diva, male or female, that I have learned more about new pieces of operatic arias than I have from Bartoli, who revived Mozart, Rossini, Handel, Gluck, et al. Brava, C.
