  • That was just...WOW. Pretty damn neat.

  • Question: Do 25th century ships all use quantum slipstream drives, instead of warp technology, or is it just a different effect for the warp engines?

    Overall, first-class.

  • Excellent Job, Ladies and Gentlemen! One of the finest examples of Fanfilmming I have ever seen. I hope to see more with this in the near future...

  • i would love to see more. would be wonderful if Paramount would pick up the series =)

last star trek series i watched was the voyager series. compared to the original series, the special effects were nice. Keep up the good work!

you will only get better with time.

  • This was amazing!!! I enjoyed it more than any episode of Enterprise lol, I've been desperate for new Trek and while I appreciate what J.J. Abrams was trying to do, I love my original universe and want to know what's going on there much more than I do the new alternate one. You guys did that brilliantly. I agree with some commenters here that the Captain could do with a bit more gravitas, but every series has some kinks to work out. You guys have done an amazing job, I hope there's more coming!!

  • awesome

  • and please - keep it Star Trek - The things that made Star Trek cool - meaning easy with the radical changes. Perhaps an update to existing phasers as opposed to giving them cheesy little guns (that sound and shoot very cool but they look foreign and fake... its no longer star trek) Same with the transporters - the speed at which they work is cool, but what's with the up down? lol - and the insignia? oh man don't go too far out on the insignia...

  • Awesome - But i'd be remiss to not mention a strange character flaw. Why are the captains acting so compulsive? Captains are collected - head fast smart individuals - Picard, Janeway - They were smart - They were trying to keep the crew collected and the plot set up to where they would have to make the 'rational' choice. It just doesn't seem like they would put some hot headed dude on the forefront of a peace keeping capital ship you know? Make the main guy more like a captain.

  • this is gigaepic i cant wait to see more this is like the enxt generation o fht enext generation all trully a great film and hopefully series im looking foreward for much more.

  • A nice start. Some great graphics & I particularly like the costuming.

A little more naturalistic on the acting, but I liked the projection into TREK future from NEMESIS.

  • awesome

  • an intriging show i enjoyed it

  • I liked it.

  • good job

  • Well made, however constructive crisicism:

    Characters were obvious,

the acting was overdone- espeically with the doctor's english accent and typical cowardice

fight scene was too sluggish- some faster editing would improve this,

storylines could do with some more thought.

basically stop being so god damned american about the whole thing and relax!

enjoy what your doing! it has the potential to be great and like a good deal of fun!

  • @ThePurpleman21 "Don't be so American" makes no sense. American means excellence. They did a good job, and they can improve from there. Some of the acting is terrific, and this is overall better than some shows on TV.

Some of the men always have their arms bowed, as if their shirts are too tight.

  • For a fan production, this was an ambitious project. Fan productions are quite a bumpy ride and its hard to get passed production issues to get lost in the story. To its credit, Phoenix tried to iron those problems out as best it could to make it really feel like Trek. However I really feel like the Captain was miscast. The actor was too young and his performance weak. A captain needs to be a centerpiece. Likable. Someone the audience would want to "boldly go" on long voyages with.

  • This rocks,please don't leave us hangin.Take us to Rehonsu.What happens next?

  • Thank you so much.... !

    @DrMike002 Agreed!

  • Fantastic - one of the best fan made series I've seen - props, effects and acting are all pretty good.

Pity some people feel the need to find fault in such an empressive effort.

Can't wait to see more. Love the uniforms and the transporter system!!

  • Kick ass ! =)

  • Keep it coming.

  • This could be akin to TOS's "The Cage". It's interesting, but not good enough as a pilot.

    Three biggest problems:

    1. Bad effects regarding phaser fire. Not sure if this is the fault of the actors or post-production.

    2. Way too many flashbacks. It's damned near impossible to follow this episode without a map.

    3. The overall space scenery looks like Babylon V, not Star Trek.

(But I do like the transporter effect. It's about time someone got it working this way.)

  • I would love to see this become a full blown series. Awesome cast and writers great job :D 10/10

  • Have to say that this is the best fan fiction film I have ever seen in Star Trek. Awesome! I loved it! Great job!

  • Omnipotent for a fan made serie. d-_-b

  • Excellent job, only area that might need work is the fight coreography. Otherwise, excelent.

  • love the story, and arguments , aptain acting looks kind of forced, tow thums up for the dr. i will give a 10 to the story, a 6 for the cast in general, captian behaives to much like a 1990 marine.

  • Bloody Fantastic !

A whole new era to explore. Very high qualty and for those who moan about such fan films, If you can do better DO IT ! Put up or Shut up.

I for one hope this will be taken up by the big boys, May the adventure continue

    well done. I want more...

  • @linspire185u "Put up or Shut up."

    That's pretty childish.

Most critics, even the basement variety, know their own limitations. Working on a project does provide insight on the effort involved, but it's entirely irrelevant when it comes to determining how good something is. Any one of us can, and should, do that.

If something sucks, the people who made it usually DO want to know, from the audience.

This doesn't suck, but it isn't "bloody fantastic" either.

  • very good stuff , hoping for more , but plz , bring back warp drive :P

  • Keep in mind, if a big station does pick it up, they'll probably replace everyone and make it more to Trek standards.

  • ...i thought you couldnt go to warp on red alert?

you couldnt create a stable warp field while the shields were up??

not to mention power requirement at red alert power drops from the warp drive the weapons and shields

  • That was so cool! I hope CBS picks them up!

  • It looks like it had a very small budget but was a waste of a lot of money. These kind of cheap knock off star trek episodes only damage the over all image of trek. I'd rather trek die than be carried on in such an amateur way.

  • P.S. In regard to some other commentors: This is the 1st ST series PERIOD that IS taking a new approach, yet staying within acceptable ST guidelines. It sort of mixes a feel of FarScape, Battlestar Galactica and Star Gate in the ST mythos. For fellow ST fan/critics: this taking place on the FAR side of the Neutral Zone. This is Vietnam in space. You do what u are trained to do in a place where ur training means NOTHING. ST:Phoenix if THATS what ur going for... To me u got the right start.

  • As a strong fan of the Star Trek franchise, I hereby off my criticsm. Of all the web-based Star Trek shows, Star Trek: Phoenix has the potential to be recognized on par with the flagships standards: TOS and STNG. The overall direction/acting/ premise starts from a higher intent not yet fully fleshed, but I put the potential from what I saw as to be able engrain itself as strong as any main franchise. 1st time I am truly surprised and impressed by, and anticipating, a ST web-based show.... kudos!

  • For a fan made episode...i'm impressed. Could use some polish, but there is definitly a LOT of potentional. Noteable things would be sound. the first half lacked enough music, and you can hear echo in the room or something when people talked. Secondly some of the actors seem too forced. still pretty damn good. just seems like they are forcing the lines. doesn't seem natural with some of the dialect. but overall i still would love to see more of this! Props the t'von though. he rocked!

  • The danger is too much going on storywise, other than that best one out!

  • Not bad... I think you got better as you went along. My comments would be

    - It's a bit wooden in places... might benefit from actors loosening up a bit

    - Needs more background music throughout. Scenes with music near the end seem far more realistic.

    - Get a bigger room. Particularly in the admirals office its all far too close up. Remember movie sets are far bigger than the rooms they portray using cut away walls etc.

But yeah, good effort. Next one will be closer to the real thing I'm sure :)

  • Een erg vet filmpje. Bijna op echt star Trek niveau

  • The special effects were awesome and the costuming as well. Unfortunately, excellent special effects and costuming are not enough. The acting was spotty. Good performances were given by, James Lyle as the doctor , who took some kitchy dialog and made it seem natural and amusing. Lorrain Montez put on a believable performance as the intimidating Maj.Ulti Natyra. I wanted to see more of Roy Stanton. Ben Andrews performance was stilted and the rest of the cast were obviously enthusiastic amateurs.

  • is there going to be another one of tese because this is really good

  • It was good, but it plays more like Farscape than Star Trek. Star trek is more of a "period piece" where actors have to play people living in a culture completely different and evolved from where we currently are. The characters feel like present day humans transported to a star trek setting. It's a very good effort, but it's just not Star Trek.

  • wonderful! love every moment of it. you really muuuuust continue! <3 please!

  • I got to say very good job the people at CBS/UPN should look at this as a next step in the Star Terk series. A new look a good storie line is what is needed to carry on with Star Trek!!! Where on Man has gone before!!!!

  • This was'nt half bad.. the story arc was pretty good. compared to other trek fan episodes this ranks up there as an 8. would have liked to have seen the bridge. Well done guys

  • Criticisms: I didn't like the Doctor-vulcan stuff. Too much a parody, or just cringe worthy copy of Doctor McCoy and Spock. I would like to see some classic looking Romulans (with hair at least!). The aliens with distorted voices need to go. Too many new species in one crew. The feel is more like B5 or even Farscape, not Star Trek.

Compliments/What was good: Production value. Costumes. Worm holes for transport (given safety issues) and instead of warp (given damage warp was doing to space).

  • I like the quality of the sets. Very nicely done. I'm impressed.

  • a second one is needed. thumbs up if you agree

  • This shows promise, but the execution is lacking.

As a rule of thumb, let people settle into the setting before throwing so many curve balls at them. A bridge between the last time we saw Trek and now would be nice.

The SABRE uniforms don't look suited for ground combat, at all. Add in helmets and maybe a darker color. Or an earthy one.

I did like the security team securing the beam in site before letting the captain down.

  • I was there when this scene was filmed!!!! And i met both those actors and the director, Leo Roberts!

  • I was there when this scene was filmed!!!! And i met both those actors and the director, Leo!

  • Overall, it was good and interesting.

    Criticisms:

    -Fight with Romulan was terrible.

-Some characters were iffy (too many weird aliens, you need more classic federation species). Also, some acting is a little forced.

-Captain seems a little too overly Jonathan Archer like...

-Romulan make up was horrible- I hated the new Star Trek.

-Grumpy doctor is a little cliche. You need an engineer with that sort of personality or something. They are usually boring.

    + Viewers= + pressure on CBS=new series

  • Rihannsu? Isn't that Romulus? Didn't their sun go supernova?

  • @azbacnikorange romulus' sun did go supernova but the romulans relocated to another planet that looked like romulus

  • I think it has real potential. Yes the acting was a little melodramatic at points, but Voyager's pilot was the same. Janeway was very irritating in the beginning.

I love the teleporter technology. No more Heisenberg principle issues to speak of. Creating worm holes for teleporting and "warp" is awesome.

    However, I hate the uniforms.

  • Very good for a fan-made series! I could see this becoming an actual star trek series. Keep up the good work!

  • A little more work with the camera angles and little more work on some heart with the acting seemed not too serious in some of the film. But was real good I would say. Keep up the good work will keep watching.

  • Unexpectedly good.

  • I feel like I'm watching a bunch of 7 year old kids playing star trek in the back yard. WHY? Story is lame and overly complex... way too much political background nonsense. Star Trek is about exploring the galaxy, not diplomacy and cloak & dagger. Star Fleet Uniforms do NOT come in evil black leather. The phoenix looks like the love child of a klingon battlecruiser and Voyager. The men are all short and the aliens are defined by eyeshadow... the fight scene was pathetic and fake.

  • @JETEYE2012 Sorry, but whenever I hear someone state that Star Trek equals Exploration, I get massive headache. The Franchise moved beyond that singular premise long ago and personally, I think it's a good thing that it did. Delving deeper into the aspects of the already defined universe, conflicts and politics between races we already know and like are - for me at least - much more interesting, than stories about one "problem" per episode that we don't really care about once the episode's over.

  • -The vulcan guy and the doctor were pretty good. They seemed to be in-character more than everyone else. Had a natural feel for them. Many of the others had a forced approach and it took away from the overall production.

-The captain seems to have little control over his people.

-I wish the planet scenes were more vibrant in color.

I watched all 3 parts in a row. So there must be enough potential to keep interested.

    I'd give it a 6.5/10.

  • damn this was awesome lol this would make for a great addition to the series of star trek.

  • I'm confused... what are the dept colors? The doctor and captain seem to be wearing the same uniform.

  • Overall nice job! Love the original look and the attention to detail and full realizations of character.

Only criticizm is the characters being a little too melodramatic at points. And haven't we seen enough of complaining doctors? Especially ones that argue with Vulcans - or near-Vulcans?

But good job! Can't wait to see more!

  • @cuttersboi08 I would agree for the most part. I do think the Captain has a little bit of a cliche bad ass renegade attitude. and as someone else stated earlier there are a few too many new alien races.

Aside from that it was really well done and I enjoyed it. I would say better than Star Trek of Gods and Men, or at the very least on par.

  • ugh that guy looks creepy.......no stun settings for you!

  • @claudiatannahill aaaah he's ALIVE....

  • OK i agree it looks like any other fanmade pice of crap but i have been a huge fan of

STAR TREK since 1991 and when STAR TREK:enteprise ended i felt like shit i watched stargate and stuff like that but the best of them all was STAR TREK so pleas im asking you all who still whant it to go on to gather up and make 1 grate series not tens of thousends other things like STAR TREK:the second phase or STAR TREK: phoenix!!! But STAR TREK phoenix is a grate start!!! good job guys!!!

    Use positiv colors!

  • One of the best fan films I've seen to date. Waiting for the conclusion.

  • This is insanely good. I even like the new uniforms. You should sell badges like Farragut does.

The only downside is that the D/Ls from your site seem to all cut off prematurely. Thankfully youtube works well.

  • Not bad, fight choreography needs work though. Other than that, most impressive.

  • I have seen dozens of Fan films and this is by far the best! I proves that Sci-Fi can be successfully created as fan base. The story was intriguing and captivating. This is not a backward production, that's for sure. Even the acting was believable, something rarely found in such productions. Your writer actually gave a plausible continuation of the storyline. The new beaming is a great twist. Great work to all of you who made this possible.

Gene would be proud of you all!!!!!

  • A really good start - I'm impressed by what you've accomplished here!

  • If that is what is meant to be the next Star Trek series, I am surely going to kick some ass, hopefully hitting one of those "actors" and the story writer....

  • I like how great the Romulan looks....but he keeps acting like a Vulcan. But besides that, great fan production! Has a few flaws, but hey, what doesn't? Great work guys!

  • I agree with the WolfmanG.. I did like the story though.. I like the way that this was filmed too..Hey!!! Star trek Phase 2 started out crappy and now they've gotten better. I guess Beggers can't be choosers...So, enjoy!!! Long as it's Star Trek I'm fine with it..P.S. Andromeda SUCKED!!! And so does Star Gate !!!!

  • worst fight scene ever.. Captain is definitely holding out on his punches. Too scared that he might hit someone. Ever think about doing the scene more then once... and taking the best one. Still no emotion. Too fake/cheezy.

    Battlecry was half decent.

  • -Nice braces Captain..lol

-Visuals are good. Uniforms are different but nice.

-Actors are poor and uptight. Their acting don't seem real. Seems like they're forcing the act. Feels like their reading from a script. therefore theres no ambition or realism to the video. Cheezy.

Has more of an Andromina feel, not a star trek feel.

    - 6/10.. poor but worth watching

-Stop being so nerdy. Get some real actors. Looks like a play by a bunch of nerds.

    -Keep up the efforts.

    -Room for improvement.

  • Wow! This is amazing! Everything I've always loved about Star Trek is here. Please keep it up!

  • if there`s any borg left i wonder how well starfleet can deal with them

  • It was good! Different but good. Now you gotta give us more. It's KickAss!!!!

  • More please! This is really well done.

  • Usually web based shows are total crap and the acting is equally crap. While the acting in this show is not the best it is also not too terrible, except for that tattooed Romulan.

These people need to bring this stuff to network TV.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow!!!! This is really done very well. I like the overly high-tech design of the Phoenix. It's a logical step as Star Fleet advances through time. The script is well thought through and there's enough in the story to want you to see more. Well done to everyone on this. This idea could go straight to television or even the movies. Outstanding!!!

  • Keep rolling, loved it!

  • Awesome!!!! Really well done. I want to see more!!!!!

  • Classic trek action. Relly well done.

  • I hope there's going to be more uploads of this to YouTube... It's the only place I can watch it. And these episodes are mad good. =D

  • The plot thickens... I'm diggin' it. =D

  • 'What do you think of my brothers?'

Well if they're as good an actor as you, I'd say not terribly well
