An interesting clip. The halter applies discomfort or pain to the pressure points on the head if the horse pulls away. Soon it learns the only place where there is no pain is next to the handler. It can do nothing to stop being pulled over because one of its front legs is tied up. Where in its natural life does a horse stick so close to another animal, following it wherever it goes, turning when it turns, stopping when she stops? And, where is it brought to the ground, unable to rise?
I approved of all the methods used except for the lying down one. I have never used it. However I do see an amazing relationship between horse and man here. A "broken" horse, trained in the old cowboy way, does not follow his master, he does not rest his head on his masters shoulder, or "groom" or "play" with his clothing. This man does have a beautiful connection with his horses. And as all Arab owners know. You can't "dominate" an arab like you can a QH. Only mutual friendship works
The gray that was pulled down was actually done so in a HUMANE way compared to what people do to wild mustangs here in the states.
You're ALL IGNORANT whom complain of this method, and stupid.
It is a way of showing the horse, I am your "master" in that the human directs the horses movements but at the same time installing trust by reassuring the horse in situations that are stressful. The horse - if done probably - will trust the human to death.
To the IGNORANT americans or canadians, dumb-ass europeans, that complain about this you have NO IDEA. You probably don't own a horse at all. I own a desert bred arabian mare - a return favor granted my grandfather and which I inherited - she is both intelligent and extremely loyal very much like a dog. She was raised in this fashion... SO SHOVE A SOCK IN IT JACK ASSES
making a horse lay down in this way is using brutal force, scaring him into submission - this is archaic! There is no magic in this! This is not an equal partnership based on mutual respect, confidence and trust. This is appalling.
@michellesolstar this most human way can horse understand it, compared what other trainers do, this one the bedouin way and believe they treat horses better than anyone in the world. or do you prefer a horse that can kill his owner when he get scared.
@ahmrou82 I agree there are many brutal and inhumane ways that people the world over are using to train horses, but a horse will NEVER attempt to kill his owner if he is treated equally with kindness and respect. Horses are prey animals, there autonomic nervouse system will respond in ways to fear through flee, or freeze,
very unlickly to fight. Developing relationship through confidence building and understanding their inherent language.
Awesome, I wish the Arabs keep the great Islamic culture alive in their day to day life. I wish they keep the reputation of the great personalities like Umar and Abu Bakr and Ali(RAnhum)
I thought of something I want to ask you. Don't get me wrong, I see nothing bad in the way of teaching horses shown in the video. I strongly believe that making the animal lie down and making some noise is incomparably better than mistreating it for its whole life. And "mistreating" is what I call demanding obedience from an animal who doesn't trust you or understand you. However I would like to know if (and how) you can avoid doing it by bringing the horse up to trust you from its birth.
Watching this video almost made me cry. It's amazing to see how a person can bond with an animal using their language. It's the same with all animals: horses, dogs, cats. People always want them to understand human language and do what they want them to do without understanding what the animal is telling them. And it turns out, if you use the animal's language all you have to do is ask and they'll do anything for you, even die.
beautiful!! i have an arabian who is previously abused. my arabian is great with our family, but not so much with our adult visitors. i would love to invite this man to meet my arabian.
@jett888 well grass only grows sometimes in winter and little bit in spring too....the original diet was harsh, camels milk, dates, dried camel meat too....so only the strongest most tough horses can survive it
Thank you for demonstrating that allowing your horse to demonstrate affection is not an invasion of space but a sign of mutual respect and should be treated as a hug from a child rather than an offense.
Arabian Horses are my favorite breed of horses, though I love all horses (and animals). It's not just their looks or their physically ability that makes them stand out, as this video should have pointed out, it's their loyalty. Arabian Horses are more loyal than some of the most loyal breeds of dog; they're the equine version of "Man's Best Friend."
I read this somewhere..Allah picked up a handful of sand thru it into the wind and the arabian horse was created. Surly Allah picked up another handful of sand thru it into the wind and created Ali Al-Ameri and the third handful of sand was the Afghan Hound. Absolutely beautiful the 3 of them. Thanks Allah.
Ali you remain true to your culture and character. Thank you for this movie as record and history which is valued and remembered. Until we meet again.
i love your videos more videos please, cheers from australia. i would like to know what you feed them and how you groom them . we all have different methods. if you can please do a video for all of us. thank you . can you show us inside your stables.
I adore Arabians. I used to own three little fillies but after working with them and several others on an Arab ranch I decided paints would be better for me. Either way, Arabs are still beautiful and I would love the opportunity to take one on as my trail horse. It's true that Arabs trust more, but I must also add that they hold grudges too. They are intelligent beyond belief ;)
I love this video, it is a lot like american indian training, my arab mare is 3 and I have been training her to follow me on line and have almost graduated to no lead, she follows me without any tension on the line as his does but mine has a regular halter, It's trust not the halter! Conditioning is fine but if your horse learns to trust you, there is no limit what you can do.
Notice how he said " how the native americans did" The old way. They have done DNA testing on american wild mustangs and some of them are of Arabian descent.
I love arabians they are such flawless horses the way they move the way they trust they way they are their own horse people can never find a better looking horse and a better trusting hrose than the arabian.......
But don't get me wrong, he's a good trainer with good insight into horses, and he works very well with them. And I'm sure he has a good bond with all of them. I'm just saying that the "bridle" he uses has a lot to do with the behaviour of the horses after having been trained with it.
Regardless, it was a great video to watch, and the Arabians are beyond stunning. =)
When the horses follow him so closely, it's not just 'cause they're besties. That "bridle" he puts on makes it painful for them to back up (due to pressure on the poll), and when he's leading the horses around with it, the horse HAS to follow and not back up or stop, otherwise he feels that pressure. So, naturally, the horses learn to never back up or stop. Try to do the exact same thing with a horse in a regular halter or bridle, and I guarantee you - or even he - wouldn't have the same result.
I'm not saying horses won't. They certainly wil, and it's great that your mare does. I'm just saying that that halter they're using pretty much forces the horse to follow him, which is true.
If I were a horse the best I could hope for would be, Ali Al-Ameri, as my trainer he builds such trust and rapport with these animals it's amazing to watch. Where does the horse end and the trainer begin they are like one together.
Horse Whispers are amazing and come from all places but the Bedouins are quite likely the first and best. I have watched this a couple of times because it is so inspirational and interesting.
i would like to learn about horse language. i want to know what body language to use for my arabian horse to come to me. i think im learning from her, but i still want to understand more.

the Bedouin Story It may give you the clues to unlocking your horse trust box. email me andI will send you the keys to the trust box ( it is similar to the vidio about two brains, bu horses have a nothing box which if you do not know the combination you will never get in (trust is something you have to learn not the horse
"The Arabian Horse Whisperer" These are the Arabians I grew to love and remember not these coiled springs of dangerous nervous energy! A joy to watch. Kudos!!!!
I wish all horse owners would treat their horses with the respect and love that you provide. You are an amazing human being and I wish you many many more years with your horses.
him putting the horse down is similar to what I was taught we call it sacking out..Ali has a great technique for sure.I dont believ in the whole horse wisperer idea but like him I do believe in the ability of reading a horse an understanding them..Great vid glad another on here sent me the link..
I love this video,Arabs are the sweetest horses. It's amazing how attached they can get to you. They're so loyal to their owners! I'm leasing a horse I might buy, he got so attached to me soo quickly that I didn't need to use a lead rope with him, he'd just follow me!
One of the best clips I'v ever seen. Yeah, in the heart of the arabian desert, there you will find an oasis of arabian horses... If you`r ever down in Texas, look me up.
This is really an excellent clip. It's something for all arabs to be proud of. As a 7'leejee girl, it brings joy to my heart to see this clip. I was wondering if this was broadcasted on any American channels? I hope it did. Thanks for sharing it. Maga9art o ya36eek el 3afyah!
Simply breathtaking. I get tears in my eyes just watching your videos. I own an Arabian and he owns my heart. If you ever come to the USA I would love to have you stay with us.
Your an amazing man with a kind heart and your horses know this.
i just wish i cold buy another arabian and take it to work with that guy. he gets the horses and i love his respect for them.
it's true the loyalty they have to their owners. my first arabian, Toi, was wonderful to me. very safe and easy to ride we could go anywhere and he wouldn't scare. and once he mad me real mad at him but he understood it and it was like he was trying to say sorry, he wouldn't leave me alone until i was okay.
Your training methods are wonderful. It's nice to see people appreciate and respect the Arabian breed as you do. My first Arabian was destined to the killers, but a kind lady took her in and sold her to me. She was extremely Loyal and I loved her til the day she took her last breath in my arms. Her name was Nyte Flyte, and she taught me much about the breed. I now have 3 Arabians that do endurance racing. I really love this intelligent breed
I have no favorite horse breed because I see beauty and importance in each breed. But Arabians are special because my best friend is an Egyptian Arabian. I think that Arabians are generally the most versatile breed and once you have it, they are extremely safe and loyal. Unfortunately, most ppl (in US) don't know how to befriend them and all they see are crazy hot bloods. The QH craze and stock prejudice makes showing with Misty very difficult here in America. I use the same method w/ my horses.
My sister is married to a Saudi & has lived in Arabia for about 35 years now. Was able to go visit two years ago-it was lovely. Got to meet their herd of camels, and they had a couple of horses they had rescued. This man understands horses & what is natural for them. Thanks for sharing! Will have to show my nephew this video- he is here in the U.S. for 2 years now going to college. Will go home in June back to the Kingdom.
Trained, raised and bred many, the easiest to work with, they bond easily! Must be able to "read" them and understand their language. Some people just don't and ruin these wonderful loving animals.
This was so ... beautiful. It's nice to see someone else train and love the arabain horse... Not everyone can understand the arabian horse's mind. I've always thought when I was reading a horse book about arabians what would happen if some tried to bring the desert horse back to the desert? looks like I don't need to wonder about that anymore!
I am an arabian horse at heart, the wind of the desert is my playground inside my head , i feel the power of the horse legs in my nerves, that power run through my blood giving me energy to stay alive.......
if you can breathe the spirit of horses you will understand in deep who am i .... i understand how you work with your horses i do the same with some of my horses. is so important to give time to trust us. i was in Morocco in october and i ride the arab stallions from that area i wish i could visit your area too.
This was fascinating! Is it from a longer documentary? Do you know where I can get the full thing and what it is called?

the Bedouin Story It may give you the clues to unlocking your horse trust box. email me andI will send you the keys to the trust box ( it is similar to the vidio about two brains, bu horses have a nothing box which if you do not know the combination you will never get in (trust is something you have to learn not the horse

Ali, you are a physician in horsemanship. You got your doctorate in the desert.
Your horse Satin is a god.
How long were you with LionHeart before you laid him down and cracked the whip over his head?
Gaining respect as their leader, providing safety and teaching loyalty is what you have done.
If I had a teacher like you....
Great video!

Maga9art o ya36eek el 3afyah!

i just wish i cold buy another arabian and take it to work with that guy. he gets the horses and i love his respect for them.
it's true the loyalty they have to their owners. my first arabian, Toi, was wonderful to me. very safe and easy to ride we could go anywhere and he wouldn't scare. and once he mad me real mad at him but he understood it and it was like he was trying to say sorry, he wouldn't leave me alone until i was okay.
anyways, wonderful video and thankyou for posting

I've always thought when I was reading a horse book about arabians what would happen if some tried to bring the desert horse back to the desert? looks like I don't need to wonder about that anymore!

riding arabian horse in a deseret is a different sensation for both, the rider and the horse.
