32X fail! OH NO!!! That's okay, something to fix :)

my sega 32 x keeps on freezing in the middle of knuckles choatix and when i put a sega genesis game on it the only thing i that can move is the title screen the genesis game freezes when i berely play the 1st level

@RetroGamer10 Have you tried cleaning all the contacts on the inside of the games and both sides of the 32X and Genesis? That would be my first thing to try.

To test the 32X, DON'T use the cable that connects the Genesis 1 and 32X. Just use the AC Adapter. I have the 32X's rare cable to the Genesis 2, and I tried it and it didn't work. I tried it without the cable and it played Genesis games fine and the 32X games worked fine too. Take Doom for example, it showed the status bar and music, but no gameplay. That's how I found out that my 32X was working but the cable was faulty.

I have been finding that there are lots of bad capacitors, they should be checked first (checked =replaced with most capacitors).

I love Virtua Racing Deluxe. I think its the best version of the game. Also many say Virtua Fighter 32X is the best home version. The graphics aren't s good as the Saturn, but I hear the gameplay is the best.

I also agree the 32X as a whole, was a failure, but the games were actually pretty good. Knuckly Choatix is a very good Sonic spinoff game with a different style of gameplay.

The whole thing could have been done differently. Vtech went from disk to cart and they still work well (V.Flash to V.Smile),

When I get it working it'll definitely be a great part of my collection.

I have a 32X (just the unit) that does not work either. I can send it to you for free if you are interested. Maybe with 2 of them combined you can make a working one.

Oh no, indeed! Lol. That's really too bad. On the other hand, though, in like note as my Saturn comment, it looks to be the perfect candidate for a "Sega Neptune" mod. Lol.

32X is a fun console, a good amount of Arcade action to be had! I love it, I have around 9 games and I enjoy them all (well not so much motocross).

i have SS. i heard it's one of the best games for the 32X. but as i said b4, my av out won't work on the 32X. everything else is fine. it will play it but there won't be any sprites.

No sprites, huh? Check the cable, see if is okay, connections like to break in these things right where they bend, at the connector. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I hope I can get a working one, too. Since this one has broken plastic I was planning on re-casing it, but not if it doesn't work. Not yet, anyway. I get to fix it, and I actually do like that.

I hope you get a working 32X it's a pretty sweet add on to the Genesis. I really like the Star Trek game myself. I've actually got a review of it. :D
