@louie12ph i know, but when i looked i think there was just written "I usually just use the DS-1 pedal" but i dunno if u mean you just use it for "some" nirvana covers and covers on other bands aswell. Sorry if im a bit anoying, but im about to buy my first pedal, so i would really like the right sound, also becuase i need to be able to afford a new amp... and i was told the DS-2 was good for in Utero, but i think i should ask someone who knows for sure...^^

you asked the right person. you can buy a boss metal zone if you want a wide range of dist sound from "muddy banks" sound to a heavy metal setting. if you want simplicity, go get a boss ds-1. but jimmy eat world uses an MXR distortion so i think it sounds nice too. the best way is to go to a guitar shop and let them try those pedals that i've told you. don't get a ds-2 coz ds-1 sounds fatter and it's much cheaper. boss mega distortion is also good, but it's more expensive than a ds-1.
