Out of interest, does this tape have the full length Thames Video Collection ident at the end? I have the other Children's Summer Stories video(with The Wind In The Willows on it) and that does have the full ident on the end

@lisaglitters Thanks for confirming that. Must be one of the few tapes from that era that did have it. I've always thought it quite a disappointment the way the Thames Television captions all got removed on the VHS releases of Rainbow, Sooty and Button Moon with the still of the Thames Video ident replacing it or with the credits either being removed from individual episodes or freezing on the copyright slide.

The only exception was on the end of the first Rainbow and the end of first Sooty video(well some copies anyway) and on the Biggest Ever Party video.

For some reason the earlier releases of all these TV shows did have a full length ident at the end of the tape. Wonder why they decided to change it to a still?

On some of the rainbow and Sooty videos, the episodes don't have individual credits. Would this mean that songs at the end of the episodes got left out?

Sometimes on some of the earlier Rainbow and Sooty videos, they used to cut the end credits off and just have the last episode in full. I'm not sure why, but I found this usually happened on the videos where Geoffrey or Matthew talked in between episodes.

I loved that steam-powered boat! Especially the fact that it carried a water boiler for making tea with! :D

It sort of reminds me of "Ivor the Engine", and the way that Jones the Steam always made a cup of tea from Ivor's boiler!

It was hilarious when Matthew kept falling over when he was trying to row his boat. I loved the song 'Messing About In Boats'.
