I mean, I grew up with a veteran emt and he's told me how people with injuries like that have told him you can feel the blood pumping out of your body and yourself start to get weaker as it's happening. heartofice666, he actually could have bled out in little more than 2 and a half minutes. with that type of cut and his rapidly dropping blood pressure he would have started to pass out around the 2 minute mark after losing 40% of the blood in his body. only reason he didnt bleed out and die right there was the guy that came in and stuck his finger inside his neck and pinched off the nerve. he was a field medic in the army

Well, not instantly. It takes a while to bleed to death, even if your juggular vein is sliced wide open. If his trachea had been cut, he could have died much quicker, but still it wouldn't have been instant. If the nerves in his vertebrae were cut, he might have died, but that depends on the angle of the pick when it hit. Either way, he didn't die, and I'm glad :)
