@hydraz06 handle them everyday, and train them to go on your finger and get used to being handled at the very least. don't force it just be gentle and work at it over time. it doesn't happen overnight usualy takes a long time, but after a year then they pretty much stay tame without having to be handled as much. but of course they'll never be as tame as if you got just one if they are in the same cage because they'll bond with each other first and foremost

You took care very well of you lovebird - 10 years is a long period to create a lovebird in freedom, out of cages, without accidents ( like the mine ones ). These birds are very fragile, one moment of our distraction and they get hurt themselves, sometimes severely.

Yes, you are authorized to call me an idiot: last week I stepped on my favorite lovebird, unbelievablely.( I had 3 in that moment ) My birds started to sleep out of the cage, on the floor, under leaves of newspapers which we set there to protect the floor from their excrement. I Forgot it for 1 second and stepped full on the female. She passed away 15 seconds after in my hand. And I am very careful with my lovebirds - but that really happened.

Concerned to lovebirds gotten by the cats, I didn't have any guilty. My parents or relatives sometimes came here,when I was absent , took the birds e brought them to dangerous places, as garden and other opened places, when neighborhood cats could get them , ( and didn't take care of them there.)
