@PlaneGuy10 : It ran off a single 3 cell 2200mah lipo. The engine mounts are from an old P-38 kit. Just cut the wing a little and glued the nacelles on.
@cgrisetti87 : Couldnt really tell you. I built it from parts laying in the garage. Part of a Hobbyzone Super Cub, part of an old Phase 3 P-38, some foam, servos etc. I didnt invest any extra money to build it. I was stuck during a tropical storm and needed something to do. It was a fun project.
@johanbipbop : I sure didnt. When I built the plane, I had no power because of the hurricane half the time. I dont think I even thought of doing a build video back then when I made that plane. It was just something to pass the time during the hurricane.. Thanks man!
:21 I have a modified super cub with an out runner.. very fast.. I also put in HS-55 servos in my cub but the problem I have is that those servos don't seem strong enough to turn the plane under power. I mean sometimes I have to jack it hard right to get it to finally come around after a sec or two. I also have a stock supercub.. totally different.. you go hard right, it goes hard right!! I use a dx6i on the mod'ed one.. any ideas?
I can tell you exactly what you need as we've been doing that mod for several years now. The super cub has dihedral in the wing, this makes the plane able to turn using rudder only. To compensate you need to do one of the following, either flatten the wing, or the better solution, simply MIX Rudder to Ailerons. Put about 70% rudder movement with Ailerons to start with. From there you can add more or less depending on how you like the new feel of the turns! You Will Notice a HUGE difference!
H baron! i just got a Futaba 7c. im a super new in the world of RC. i only have 6 Flghts under my belt. you can tell by my videos and the lack of piloting skills..lol. but im addicted. thanks for your wisdom and any guidance will certainly be greatly and sincerely appreciated. i love my supercub! but rudder steering leavesa lot to be desired. even though im a newbie i need ailerons!

Depends on the Transmitter. But, if you have a programmable TX, there should be a setting for MIX. should be AIL to RUDD, then put in about 40%. This is for the Super cub. I do this for the Cub because of the Dihedral in the wing. You'll notice a huge difference in turning ability of your ailerons with the Rudder mixed in. If you let me know what Transmitter you are using, I might be able to give exact directions. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Click the Video Response above for flight video. I flew it once, it was acting wierd, I landed, my son started recording, we knew it would be interesting footage. Turns out, one of the motors was bad so it got ugly quick. But it was fun to try and fly with the bad motor.
The Dx6i can mix rudder with aileron. It helps in turns especially with high wings that have a lot of dihedral in it. I put about 60% rudder mix in.
If you mod the super cub with ailerons, you really need the mix!!
Flaps add lift. so when you slow down or lift off or land, the flaps help keep the plane a float at slower speeds. It helps lift the plane off the ground quicker and for landings, you slow down better and yet keep the nose up.
Spoilers reduce lift. Spoilers arent used much on RC planes. However, I did use them for one of my experimental Float Cubs. I had to come in on approach and then drop quick so as to not run out of water runway. Once I cleared the obstacle, I flipped on SPoilers, the plane drops quick, apply elevator and throttle, and you get a nice reduction in lift quick. But, spoilers arent used a lot in RC planes. I still have about 3 planes with them, but I rarely activate them.

You need to use a Foam Safe Paint, available at most Hobby Shops. You can spray paint it, tape it out for details, and even brush on.
