Yeah the horns were absolutely excellent. They really make the song ^_^ This was before the CD was out too so I was really happy to be hearing new TMBG at the time. Just for that reason it became one of my favorite songs on the new album.
I was at that show... they were fantastic. Too bad it was in the center of the casino and you could hear this constant blue hum from the thousands of slot machines. (Can't really hear it in this video though.)
Yeah true enough, though working in a casino I think I've gotten so used to it that I don't even notice the slots sounds and such =P Still fun though!
I really like this song as well :) Even before the album came out. I also like "Climbing the Walls" and "the Mesopotamians". Great album...can't wait to see what they do next!
Those are awesome else. The album is great with the exceptions of Upside Down Frown, Withered Hope, and Take Out The Trash. They just don't seem to fit and sound like another band made them.
Upside Down Frown isn't that great I'll admit (though it can grow on you) even though a lot of people actually do like that one a lot. Take Out the Trash is fine by me, though it's a bit too radio-friendly to be TMBG to me :) As for Withered Hope...I seriously LOVE that song, so I guess that's the one place we disagree as far as the album goes. Still, I own two copies of the album now (one iTunes version and one CD autographed by the Johns hehe)
true enough. I'm impressed is never one that I'd go out of my way to play in my iTunes or on my CD player, but when it's on I do enjoy it and often sing along, so it's far from a flop. It'd probably be more fun live though.
Disregard my earlier comment, I'm Impressed rules. Now I can't imagine this album without it. I pretty much warmed up to every track on this album nowadays.
The crowd was only about 300 people anyhow. Not much to see, but yeah I wish I had known at the time that my camera is clearer if I zoom in before hitting the record button. Doing it afterward means it's digital zoom which is slightly blurrier and more pixellated. Oh well =P
People were dancing around and having fun at different points. This was just a more somber part because it was a new song and people were trying to actually listen to it =)
Well to be fair they do have like HUNDREDS of songs :) and this was while the song was still being worked on anyhow (nearly a year before release) ^_^ Note that the last verse is different in the CD / iTunes version. But yeah, it is pretty funny still :)
Obviously that Marc guy's never listened to the Live Flood either, hell they forget a whole song at first lol. Goddamn I love TMBG. Such great stuff.
Very good songs indeed. I absolutely love every song on those albums. Good times indeed =) I was able to see them two times after this show but didn't record as the casino and show places are getting more strict about video-recording. Too bad though, really, really fun shows.
You're very welcome :) I recorded about 90% of the concert (then my cards were full) but only posted this one. Maybe some time I'll post more. Thanks for watching.
Thanks :) I actually put it at the top of the new songs, but that may because I listened to this one so many times. I just wish it was a little brighter in there and that YouTube didn't compress so much. Did you know TMBG are returning to Mohegan Sun's Wolf Den on July 28th? You can be sure I'll be there ^_^
Yeah I was so happily surprised when listening to it ^_^ I'm glad they kept the song the way it was and adding that extra verse was so cool =) I absolutely love it. I really recommend all of you go buy it on Itunes if you haven't done so. I still may buy the CD when it comes out too, since I have all the others.
This is wonderful news! Thanks so much :) I had no idea that it was released yet (I've been so busy with work and such). I'm going to go buy the album right this second ^_^
hm.. i love the irony of John saying that he wants people to record this and ruin their careers, and no it is on youtube. Im super-psyched about The Else, though... only about 87 more days
As I said before, I don't intend to hurt them at all but rather promote them. It's not like I'm uploading their MP3's or sending out pirated copies of their new cd (wish I had it, but I wouldn't pirate it anyway). TMBG has always been good at promoting themselves with free giveaways anyway (emusic for a long time had free MP3's this was a free concert (they do a lot of them) and their podcast is totally free. Again, I'd never post this if I thought it'd hurt them. It is ironic though I'll admit.
they might be giants, does anyone know where to get their song alarm clock catastrophe, you know the one heard in the dunkin donuts commercial, I love that video screen
I've heard this song at the Hedgepeth in Twin Lakes Wisconsin first then I heard it again at Jammin' at the Zoo in Chicago. Somewhere down the line of the Chicago concert, they played Careful What You Pack too. It's another new song to their next album.
The first time I heard this song, I wasn't terribly impressed. But now that that I've heard it in a somewhat better sound quality (and with horns, too!), I've come to like it a lot. Thanks for posting it!
Hey no problem. This was actually the first time that I had heard it myself so I'm happy I had my camera recording at that time. I agree it sounds better with horns :) Hope the final version on the CD has them. I know I'm pre-ordering that new album ^_^ Can't wait!
I really do love the new tune. As for the seat, I was very happy with it thank you very much =) I was just happy to be there honestly. Thanks for the comment though ^_^
Yes, but if anything I'm helping to promote them. I hardly think posting a song and telling people to buy their CD will hurt their amazingly diverse careers :)
3 views and I am one of the first comments. Nice video, I might have to invest in a camera that records movies longer than 3 minutes. I saw them perform again at Tulipfest in Albany NY in May but the setting at Mohegan Sun looks fun. Gotta Love TMBG.

I kind of like Upside Down Frown better than before but I'm Impressed could've been sung with more energy than what was given.

No, I was replying to another comment that said the crowd wasn't danceing ora anything. And I agree, pixellization is very annoying.
