I'm happy for you, even if I'm not mormon. I go sometimes but I don't beleive in a lot that they do but they do so thats fine with me. I just follow my heart and beleive what is best for me.
I believe you feel led by the Holy spirit. So with that being said, I beg you to read and pray about Galatians 1: 1-10 . Don't ask someone's opinion or get someone else's view, simply and truly pray that the Holy spirit will guide you and give you an answer
Unless she can go back in time to the church in Galatia, this has zero to do with her or anyone else alive today. The mindset that says all the things written by Paul to the early church is in direct context with everything today is totally absurd, and sectarian drivel. If that was the case, any church but the one Galatia would be false, All protestant sects included. (Baptists, evangelicals, etc)
If that was the case, any church but the one Galatia would be false, All protestant sects included. (Baptists, evangelicals, etc) Paul was talking about the gospel delivered by the Holy Ghost, not some books written long after paul was gone. Paul's letters came before the Gospel books!!
Hmmm... I'm not sure exactly what are all the "bad choices" LDS saved you from. I'm not LDS and not really a "believer" in unseen forces and people as defined by the various Christian sects. However I'm happy to say I've steered away from the bad pathologies of life. How can you know you would not have done the same anyway without the LDS?
That's wonderful that you've steered away from the bad pathologies. I agree, you don't have to be a member of a certain faith, or any faith, to live a moral life. For me, it was easier having the conviction that I would not do certain things like, drink alcohol, smoking, drugs, and premarital sex. I don't know if I would've made the same choices without some kind of moral compass in my life. Maybe I wouldn't have resisted peer pressure as you have. Thank you for sharing your comment!
Whatever it's basis, the Mormon culture of abstaining from as you cite "drink alcohol, smoking, drugs, and premarital sex" does lead them as a group not to suffer from the problems these habits sometimes cause. Having less druggies, boozers, lung cancer victims and teen age pregnancies is good for all society - so thank you Mormons. However as I and many I know avoided said problems without taking on LDS beliefs and customs, I'm not signing up! *wink*
