well i have a 820 x4 at 2.8 and a fairly average GPU and i run this game on ultra, and that desk top is a hell of a lot better than mine. if your buying it pre built id say its around £900-£1000?

might be your processor which is the intel dual core thing. If you watch the cutscenes in the begining of the game it says runs great on intel pentium 7 i think so look more into it

first of all you should use your own cavlary to take care of the enemy's. If your out of luck and dont have any take advatage of your irregular units and set stakes in key areas. And if you have the battalion square ability you should use that to your advatage to fend of cav.

always before the battle starts try to have two line infantry standby on your right wing and your left wing don't use ur cavalry to counter them cause sometime ur cavalry may lose just use a line of infantry and when u see them coming, charging towards u just tell your infantry to attack them so they can embrace the impact.

I think your problem is, and I had this trouble, is that the display driver that comes with the graphics card might might not be in the computer, because if a graphics card does not have a display driver then the graphic card will display a low quality.

another thing might be is that the place empire is stored on might be to cluttered for you to work it. as you know the game has alot of files like steam, so the game wil need alot of space

RAM wise I guess that means you have Vista (Eurgh...), you might need to get a little bit more than that but it's very cheap, other than that I think your PC should run it nicely on low-mid specs.

first of all, if your 8800 GTS runs in your computer now then there is no need for a new motherboard, secondly, the 7xxx cards are pretty dated, so i would say go with the 9800, those are quite reliable cards :)

Ranged combat looks excellent. HtH looks like crap. Half the guys are standing around looking at each other. One guy was surrounded and he and the enemy just kind of stood there looking at each other until he lunged forward all of a sudden and then just fell over. Nobody got knocked over or ended up fighting from their backs. I hope they have done a lot more work on it for the release version.
