Personal carbon trading is essential - the sooner the better. So is the development of renewable energy systems. The other guy is misguided. The two systems have to work hand in hand. We need government and whole society to develop renewable power plants and greener vehicles etc fast - but individuals also have to recognise the need to cut their own personal energy use. Sadly the destruction of the planet isn't a good enough reason for most people - but financial reward or penalty is.
the destruction of the planet? are you joking?! there is no such thing as man inflicted global warming. temperature fluctuations are normal and have ALWAYS occured. the temperature on the earth is determined by solar activity on the sun, not because of industrialisation. the amount of people locked into this scam is unbelievable. politicians like al gore are only pushing this movement to make money from it. educate yourself!!!
Incredible thou it seems now it's likely that one day Carbon Rationing will be here ... but only after a major national energy emergency, there's hardly any point in talking about it now.
lol climate change schlimate change. Bring it on I say. I think all these climate activists have done themselves a disservice by banging on about it so much that people are prepared to die in a heatwave just to get away from the constant drone of carbon this and rationing that.
OMG The Troll on the left says this is the "ONLY OPTION FOR THE FUTURE OF MANKIND"?! HOLY SH*T!!!!
Anyone with any aspirations of making this world a better place or even perhaps inventing an engine or a way to heat your home without using Fossil Fuels stop trying! There is nothing in the God-made Universe that can save the planet but THIS RATION CARD!
This will not reduce the use of carbon based fuels. It will simply be a way of redistributing the wealth, oh wait, that is socialism. I suppose if your a socialist you are in favor of this.
Anyone who truly believes that the planet is in peril will focus on reducing carbon based emmisions, but the socialist solutions always seem to boil down to me giving them my money.
Yeah I know, I actually read an article in I think it was The New York Post about some congressman wanting to tax people for breathing as it's carbon. I mean how much more of this insanity do we have to take before we just say 'Enough!!'
Yes, and don't forget about farting! taxes on toots....and we will need to tax the trees as they too emit co2:). They are already putting farmers in Australia out of business by charging a tax for the cow farts. hmmm, not good!!! famine and food shortage, here we come!

Why dont you do some research on the issue of climate change before vomiting your verbal garbage all over the internet.

sounds like food rationing - I doubt that will be a real solution to our environmental problem

How much more F*ck off politics and complications do people have to put up with in life?? It'll probably include rationing on toilet use also!!!!

The government will probably ration exhaling, too. That's carbon dioxide.

Unfortunately supply side changes in energy production alone will not reduce emissions below 1 tonne of CO2 per capita per year.

Woudhuysen states here that, "climate change is not as serious as World War II, it is not at that level of danger"
This is the presumption underpinning his argument but, as I understand it, the majority of climatologists disagree with him.
Hillman seems to be working with better information.

Thanks for this, Nico. It's always good to see and hear JW countering green pessimism and authoritarianism with a dose of reason.
