Post-rock must be one of the hardest genres to make music. Technical music, very little repetition and you can't hide yourself behind noise distortion. Everything has to sound amazing and pure.
@Marseille5 I do love them, but I don't think you can compare them to this sort of post-rock. GYBE are more like a film or a story in sound form, whereas Explosions In The Sky are a more traditional band approach with actual 'songs'. They're both awesome, but I think they both do different things and approach the genre differently.
@RossWildish Yes, you're actually perfectly right. Musical classifications, like "post-rock" or "jazz" are absolutely pointless : Pharoah Sanders has nothing to do with Dave Brubeck, same with Ulver and Mayhem, and with Van der Graaf Generator and Genesis. Even if post-rock doesn't mean anything, really, I just think it looks more accomplished than EITS, even if I'm an actual fan of EITS.
their frontman (i dont know if he's actually the frontman, but the guy that introduced them) is the most awkward guitarist i've ever seen. epic song none the less
I don't know, what do you want to do? Let's hang out and play guitar. Sounds cool, let's do that. Great, I'll bring a drummer, you grab a guy with the bass. Awesome.
When I saw them live I was so caught up in their music, losing myself but feeling complete, eyes closed, I didn't even know what they looked like untill now.
I think basic reading skills should be mandatory before using YouTube. Honestly, if that were implemented, three people would never have made that egregious error of mistaking the "dislike" button for the "like" button.
this had always been one of those like-but-not-really-love explosions songs for me, until I saw them open with it a couple days ago... now it's one of my favorites.
@BaezMedia They say that Earth is Hell. I don't believe that as long as we have EITS. Their music doesn't need lyrics to envoke such strong feelings in a person. It's amazing.
@saripkin I agree, I loved the crowd here. Thank you Bonnaroo, and thank you Explosions. You guys have provided me with the best music of all time. This was my all time favorite show.

I prefer when they perform it a TAD slower, like in the video I've posted as a video response (recorded by myself in Madrid, earlier this month).
Anyway, this song is utterly beautiful no matter the tempo, the venue or whatever. Thank you EITS for giving us such beauty ♥
