Over here in the UK we have just started the restoration of our WW1 2'0" gauge Baldwin 4.6.0T. Its needing a new boiler but the chassis overhaul has started. We hired a working one recently and it proved a big hit with our museum visitors.
Nice! Five stars. I get some NS traffic, but 99% of the trains seem to be boxcar, boxcar, boxcar, flat car, covered hopper, box car, box car, boxcar. You get the point. Boring. What ever happened to unit trains?
Excellent footage !! . Still can't work out how there's complete control of something so long when the two ends of the train must be in different sections/states !!!. Top stuff .
Thanks for posting this high quality footage. I'm surprised to see so many old style box cars. I thought they were phased out with the inter modals. Nice Cascades catch too.
I am impressed by long freight trains in your country, I guess that's why carrying a number of machines, on the other hand I have found that the passenger train that crosses the goods is the Spanish Talgo Cascades, named therein is well?
we sat at a level crossing waiting for a train...have not done that for quite a while. btw, if we could get long haul semis from the interstates, that would save them from rapid wear and tear, give the railroads some profits and the truck drivers could sit in their cabs and enjoy the ride...for once :)
