  • dame it man that"s sound is way more than sexy

  • I'm no pagan, a muslim actually but i will declare jihad on any smartass motherfucker who comes between me and Eluveitie.

  • @MegaPoone bravo, bro! from a daughter of Odin to a son of Allah! *')

  • @claudichameleon Thank you kindly, I love folk music from all lands, folk music is of ancient origin and so evocative of the landscapes it emerged from, reflecting the times when we were living closer to the Mother Earth. Add in the hard rock sound like Eluveitie's, it's a combination made in Valhalla. :)

  • I recall the band making a statement about losing beauty through translation.

As far as translating it goes, Gaulish is an extinct language, so translations are hard to come by. This is based upon a particular tablet, it is mentioned in the Wikipedia article on Gaulish (Corpus section) which says it's a "magical incantation of women, their special magical infernal names, the magical incantation of a seeress who fashions this prophecy." Google "Gaulish - RIG L-98" for more on the tablet itself.

  • I wish people would realise there's a difference between 'Celtic' and 'paganisim' and that they never always go hand-in-hand. Although, obviously Eluveitie have a pagan vibe - I mean look at the image of Cernunnos as the album cover. But, that's what should be discuss. Eluveitie's pagan vibe, not Celtic'isim and Pagainisim. They are seperate entities, and never ALWAYS go hand-in-hand.

Celts made their own type of Christianity.

  • This sounds sooooo amazing and mind-blowing on shrooms, it's like having the most beautiful goddess speaking directly to you.

  • Is there any chance somebody got a translation of this song?

  • @LadySilvyr Any luck? I've been looking for it as well, couldn't find anything in google yet!

  • @darklynn Unfortunately not. I'll let you know if I find something.

  • @LadySilvyr Thank you so much, I'll surely do the same. I've considered registering Eluveitie's official forum and asking the band members... the point is: will they answer? Do they still check the fans messages there?

  • @darklynn I don't know if that will help. Let me know if you find something.

  • Anyone care to translate?

  • some people say paganism is a bad thing... Inquisition was what?

  • Paganism for ever....

  • @GreeceHoplite7 paganism is never going away XD

  • @vampirichild

    :))

  • i understand there is an argue about religion here

im jewish and i think we jews are pagans just as everyone eles

  • I can't find an english translation for this song! Anyone knows where to find it?

  • Szeretlek!

  • Has anyone noticed that the words are often repeated 'brictom' 'severin' 'cetobi' 'cu allat' They have a small repertoire, they don't know Gaulish. It's dead, sadly. Stupid romans... stupid...

  • @Ghostshepard ; check out Omnos , it's one good song for a band with a supposedly small knowledge of ancient Gaulish!

  • @Ghostshepard Uh...you might wanna think on that one...They know Gaulish and they use it in a lot of their songs, with different words instead of repeating the same words as you say.

  • @ForsakenThirteen honestly, the lyrics repeat. Anna told me herself that they don't know most of the lyrics of Ne regv na, they know only the gist, from repetition and intense similarity. They're not linguists or scholars, they're artists.

  • @alitzuu the lyrics are- Yo dudes, so whats up? I was wondering if you wanted to go grab some lunch? I have work off tomorrow so I'm free to do what ever. Hold on I have another call. Dueche ah... -and it goes on saying things that dont make sense.

  • Hail Enki

  • @SuperLegitGuy Hail and long live Enki!

  • Could anyone translate the lyrics of this, please?

  • i adore that language, help me, where can i learn it? i really want to learn it

  • @csassz Lol.. Its Gaulish. Very few people speak it.. ;)

    Wish we all could learn.

  • blessed be all.

  • they are speaking Gaulish...which is different from Gaelic and all those other crazy languages you find up there...itis a dead language now of course :P

  • What kind of language are they speaking in this song? I also heard songs where they spoke French, I think that that was French ;)

  • @MetaldragonNakayoshi That's no french at all xD

  • @MetaldragonNakayoshi

Some words may sound similiar as france was part of well the Gaulish land so to speak :P

  • Disappointing to see people debating beliefs here, paganism is what it is. You don't need a label or a book, or a pantheon or a god to be a pagan. Being pagan for me is being free of all that, I live by my own definitions not other peoples.

  • @SeraiNephthys good sayd "I live by my own definitions not other peoples. "

  • @SeraiNephthys They very clearly say that they are politically and religiously neutral. The faith in the bands are very different. There seeme to be 1-2 christians, some atheists/agnostics and some who do not comment their faith. Chrigel the front singer often stated that he thinks that there is little exact knowledge about the pagan religions that the celtics had. (and he doesn't seem to like the word pagan as it originally just ment "not jewish").

  • @Sandermatt87

Pagans are just common people, everything without a defined religion can be considered pagan or of the people, it's not a religion though some like to label it as such. I'm not saying they (Eluveitie) are this or that, my comment was about what paganism is to me, sorry if there was some confusion. =)

  • @SeraiNephthys Sorry, I had misunderstood your posting. I understood the first sentance as saying that eluveitie is pagan, therefore my answer. Rereading your posting I see I understood it wrong, sorry for that.

  • @Sandermatt87 Well "pagan" comes from the Latin word paganis which means "country dweller". It is when the Christians grew in popularity in Rome that the word pagan was beginning to be used as a derogatory term. The Christians of that time and some after and some today see the pagans as a threat to their religion. Naturally the Christians, because it is an organized religion, lashed out against and attempted to destroy any other religions as it grew and spread for its protection.

  • @RobertPekrul Well, that is a little bit strange view of history. I mean the roman religion is a pagan religion and they persecuted christians heavily. You cn't prevent people that share your faith from commiting crimes, not even from commiting crimes in the name of your faith may it be pagan, christian or something else. Just don't blame a whole religion for the actions of a group among them.

What I said about its meaning of "not jewish" was mainly citing what Chrigel Glanzmann (their singer)

  • @Sandermatt87 said in interviews, and it made sense with my gistory knowledge. Altough the word he used may have been "Heide" which is the german word. Maybe this has another origin.

  • @Sandermatt87 I was not blaming an entire people. That is why I used the word "some". Now, indeed the polytheists and "pagans" of that ancient time persecuted Christians; indeed it wasn't all of them. My comment was based on the history of the word opposed to the history of the conflict. I believe Chrigel must be using another word to represent "non-Jewish". "Pagan" would make no sense, especially for Eluveitie who is knowledgeable of these things. They could just be rewriting things as well.

  • @Sandermatt87 I have to respectfully disagree with you that it means "not Jewish".

  • Odinism is merely another name for heathenry; Asatru is a reconstructionist religion based upon the Norse mythology.

Heathenry/Odinism (normally referred to as heathenry, as many consider Odinism to be a term that sounds like they only follow Odin) is a spiritual path (read: not religion) for those who follow the Norse pantheon.

  • This music is amazing and as far as religion goes lillith is right witchcraft is actually centuries older than christianity, not to put chritians down or anything, but it's sumthin that i believe to kno as a fact

  • The most common practice of Wicca today (atleast in America) is a variety of 'Gardener Wiccan', which wasn't actually around until the 1950's. Paganism is centuries old yes, but don't be tricked by most of the common day Wiccans you run in to.

  • @Tw1ng3

You're right...alot of people think common day Wicca is somehow a direct descendant of Druidism or Ancient Pagan practices. When in fact most of it was lost and what we know today, largely came from the hippie movement of the early 60's.

  • @GyroscopeOfThyme That's because all of the "Wiccans" or "Pagans" these days have built their entire "spiritual" "ideals" on internet-based 'research.'

  • @inventiveinsanity That is a pretty lame statement, I have you know I am a Celt, and have never depended on the internet for my research of my Ancestors I own over 50 books on the Celts alone, not to mention the other 950 on other Ancient religions....

  • @TheCauthBodva So, can you cite where these books get their information? Because as any historian knows, we have little to no knowledge of original paganism.

  • @inventiveinsanity Funny how you use paganism as a term for one Civilization of people, original paganism came from Sumeria, and all pagan gods were based off of their gods.......any real historian would know this.......further more my books are history books and are required to cite their information......either way I believe what it is that I believe....who are you to go around telling other people that they do not know enough to be whom they are?

  • @TheCauthBodva You just used 'whom' in the wrongest context there can be.

    Congratulations, you've lost all credibility.

  • @inventiveinsanity Look here you conceded little boy my entire point was that not all "Pagans" depend on the internet.....I really do not know what makes you such a cocky miserable little shit but it is not cool, it pathetic.....if you choose to believe in nothing than that is you own loss..... and to be 100% honest even the greatest of Scholars used words out of context time to time......good luck in your misery...I wish you the best of luck with that

  • @TheCauthBodva conceited*

  • new album = touring

    ^^sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

  • There will be no generalising Pagans as fluff bunnies. Wicca is a modern Pagan religion. Witchcraft is way older than that. It came around waaaay before Christianity, as did many other Pagan-ish religions, such as Odinism, Heathenism and Asatru.

  • What's the difference between Odinism and Asatru?

  • im going to buy this album and the first too !! WOO JAdore ce banc Vive le metal Celtic !! (stop waistin time to Think about ur ideas and just Listen this greatest Music From Eluveitie ! )

  • Reli..What..?????

  • nice voice

  • Why is femininity being under-valued? Isn't paganism setting and valuing the balance between man and woman? God and Goddess? Right and Left?

And yet not many payed attention to this song.

  • two words: Reli...gion

  • And very correct ones, I should mention!

  • You're thinking Wicca. Do not generalize all pagans this way.

  • No I`m not generalizing anything. It just happens that both cultures are quite similar!

  • @Toiletcat27 You sir or madam, are absolutely correct.

  • @Toiletcat27 Only Wicca

  • @Toiletcat27 it depends on what you understand about "paganism", if you think is all that wiccan crystal healing stuff the yeah, but if you are talking about the "fake idol worshipping" (for judeochristians, i dont believe thei are fake) religions before christianity then you cant say that there is a balance between sexes since there are many diferent religions, in greek mythology men is obiously delcared superior to women for example

  • @Toiletcat27 couldn't have put it better

  • @Toiletcat27 Paganism, historically, has not. There is no reason why we can't change that though. :)
