Tobin Sprout's songs are the best thing on the album in my humble opinion. Tho I have only listen to it about 3 times. The over all sound is great though, I love all the lo-fi half song collage stuff. Didn't know there was another album out in the spring, sweet! I'll get the bong primed for that one!

The Album is a disaster. Cyclone Utilities and We Won't..., The Big Hat And Toy Show, Imperial Racehorsing and Either Nelson ranks amongst the worst songs the band has ever recorded. Tracks like God Loves Us, Waves, Doughnut For A Snowman, The Unsinkable...and The Room Taking Shape is fairly enjoyable.

You should definitely review something from Guided by Voices or Robert Pollard again, because You did a great job here! And yeah, I agree - this is basically material for the fans. Mostly because Guided by Voices is a cult-band, but not that much mainstream. Not a lot of people know this great band. Where I come from, I know NO-ONE who would have heard them or heard of them. Oh, and yeah - subscribed! ;)

That was a good, honest review. You get your thoughts across well. Let's Go Eat the Factory is a real grower. It gains more color and depth with each listen, and I feel it fits as a great progression from Bee Thousand, Alien Lanes and Under the Bushes Under the Stars.

"Old Bones" was definitely the highlight of this LP for me. I'm a sucker for Auld Lang Syne, though, probably due to that bastard Frank Capra. I liked the last track on the most recent Tom Waits album, too.

Anyway, I liked this album OK enough, but I don't think GBV is going to make a better record (for me, anyway) than Mag Earwig.

I'm personnaly a hardcore fan of GBV, but I don't think they wanted to go back to their 90's sound or anything, the sound quality, construction and instrumentaion changes they made were details, I think what's really important in GbV is the songwriting skills, and I think this is something that never go away...tho I didn't listen to the album yet....(sorry if english mistakes are made)
