  • It has a good beat, and is easy to dance to.

  • Does anybody have the translation to these lyrics?

  • @racerboyGTR As translated in the Norton Anthology of Western Music: As soon as the dawn of the fine day appears, it wakes up the hunters. "Up, up, up, for it's time!" "Call the dogs, you, Viuola, you, Primera, you!" Up high on the hill with good dogs at hand and the hounds on the level ground. And on the slope everyone in his place. I see one of our best hounds sniffing. "Be forewarned!" "Beat [the bushes] on every side." "Everyone, the bushes where Quaglina is barking!"
  • @DerAlteKlavieren (continuing)

"Ai-yo, ai-yo, the deer is coming toward you."

Carbon has caught her and is holding her in his mouth.

(Ritornello) From the hilltop someone shouts,

"Get the other one!" and sounds his horn.

  • @JRNspoof « Tosto che l'alba del bel gioro' appare,

    isveglia i cacciatori: Su ch'egli è 'l tempo.

Alletta il can. Tè, tè, tè, tè, Viola tè, Primiera tè.

Sull'alto al monte co' buon' cani a mano

    e gli brachetti al piano

e nella piaggia ad ordine ciascuno!

I' veggio sentir uno de' nostri miglior bracchi:

    sta' avvisato!

  • @JRNspoof Bussate d'ogni lato

ciascun le macchie, chè Quaglina suona!

Aiò, aiò! A te la cerbia vene!

carbon l'a pres'ed in bocca la tene.

Del monte que' che v'era su gridava:

    A l'altra, a l'altra! e suo corno sonava. »
