  • Lol at the guy who thinks anyone gives a shit about his opinion :) and who thinks that posting bad comments on someone else's YouTube vid will make his virtual penis bigger.

  • its a line 6 program, probably pod farm or summit

  • whats the name of the program hes using to tweak the tones and shit. someone answer pleae.

  • dejen de tirarle flores al ponja che¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡no sean tan chupa culossssssssssssss

  • Would you ever be willing to give Guitar lessons? I Love playing guitar but I just like.. Can't get good because i have sorta a bad memory and I don't really like the style I play..

  • This is why you have the best covers on youtube, the time you put into them. Great job man, Hopefully one day I can do covers like this

  • i don`t give a ,..... for your recordings ...

  • ROFL

This retard is plugging his interface into another one, what a fucking dickbag.

  • @KoolKluxKlan666 Yeah, just being an idiot does not entitle you to spread bullshit around the net. Toneport has many limitations, which can be averted by using an additional sound card/interface. Tweaking with your gear will get you far, listening to morons like you will get you nowhere.

  • You're a dipshit, if you're spending extra money to use junk piece of shit hardware you may as well buy a sound card and a mixer, what is the fucking point of putting a soundcard through another soundcard.

  • how come you have a fucking white supremist group in your user name? racist prick...

  • what software did you use in the battery video for the camera thing!

  • What version of Cakewalk sonar are you using?

  • wait, what? you have to listen to the drums yourself and transpose it by ear into a percussion score? that sounds impossibly time consuming...

  • What are you saying sillydilly? A good result can happen without putting work into it?

Oh ok....thats possible everything that happens is just a random good thing. I don't think so. I think it takes work and dedication to make things happen.

But if you can get accomplish better things with no effort...how about doing that instead of talking about it?

  • Time consuming ,yes. Impossible, no. I do my own drum tracks on Reason and it does take hours upon hours to get something the way you want.

  • @sillydillydokieo thats because you suck at it... its called skill

  • Hey, which video editing software do you use??

  • Sony vegas

  • Hey that was great. nice to see how you get your projects going.

  • for the sm58 when u buy the bundle with the stand, lead do u need anything else like a speaker/where do u get it?

  • Not too bad of an explanation. Reading between the lines helps a bit though :-)

    I gave it a +5 :-]

  • what porgram is that at the last scene where there are all those recordings????

  • sonar i think

  • dam dude u have good english great video thnxs for posting

  • nice english

  • your english is perfect man.

  • I've really tried to make my own backing tracks from mp3s like you do, but i did not not go too far...i tryed with EZDrummer, fuck it, i suck at this..

  • nice english man

  • hahahahahaha

  • with all the reverb, you sound like you were "God" and talked down from heaven...:=)

  • Is there a good freeware program to transcribe the drums? I take it you just feed it an mp3 recording and it will extract out the bass rhythms?

  • if you find a good freeware program for drums let me know please

  • could you record yourself playing drums and add the guitar too?

  • hey im a huge fan of all of your pantera recordings, i as well use the line 6 products n i also u gearbox to record as well but i never have a nice sound quality like yours when i record, i have some videos of my recordings up on my youtube page, and if u listen to them, the quality is not a nice as yours, could you mabye give me some tips on what to do to improve my quality

  • I have the tone port ux1 w/gearbox but Im still useing the LiveLite Line6 recording software it came with. Now that I can see how much easier Sonar is I just may try it out, Do they have a free demo version for download?

  • im still using live lite too. i have protools and it's supposed to be a killer software but the interface confuses me lol so i havent gotten around to using it yet

  • How do you record the video though?

What program do you use to edit the video segments?

  • neat-o

  • oh, and wats that software called that u use to transcribe the drum parts?

  • wats that big silver box at the start at the vid

  • dude. you are THE MAN

  • dude you're awesome

    thanks for uploading.

think im just gonna stick w/ Digitech rp500

lol dude you've got to be like supper smart to understand this

  • Adobe Audition now runs in wine/linux PRAISE JAH!!!!!

  • Lol i use that shit.....:D great and easy to use

  • Awesome...all clips from this boy! 5+

  • halycon- you're gonna work for NASA one day! you could be a General.

  • Hmm, I may want to invest in a POD now. Would you mind telling me the audio program you use on your computer that has all the seperate tracks?

  • your moms a rhythmic pattern..

  • thats what she said

  • I was not sure about this product, NOW I'M SOLD!! I have a bass does it matter?

  • @bostonmisfit: it doesnt matter... for more info, visit lin6's main webpage. and they ahve seperate preamps for bass

  • Yeah it is. He's using the line6 ux1 for simulating amps. Just like I'm using a line6 pod to my computer. As long as your soundcard got a "line in" you can connect your pod to it.

  • sweet vid! what was the thing behind the toneport? looks like something i'd want/need

  • its an audio/soundcard.not sure what kind it is or anything though

  • cool and all that but i think guitar playing should just be the amp the guitar and you when you start getting into all this technology it starts defeating the purpose of playing guitar..just my thoughts.

  • "start getting into all this technology"?!? what, so electric guitars and amps have been around always then? when you don't live near anyone who can form a band with you, this is the next best thing and just as much fun as you don't have to deal with anyone's BS. it's hardly technology. do you think your favourite bands release their stuff without 'technology'? come on. most bands do endless takes these days. the hunger for perfection will always be there. but there's a fine line!

  • well this IS the bare minimum actually :)

you should see a friend of mine - he has all these racks +10 equipment i have no idea what for..

  • Duke7193 , yes you can. at least if you have a line6 pod that much I know. But the quality on you records depends on what sound card you have.

bloodymarriage, just google line6 UX1. In sweden it costs around 240$.

  • OK thanks.

Whats that behind the POD is that this audiocart or what?

Sry I dont know much about recording.^^

  • how much does that line6 caught

  • I've seen one in england for around £60-£80, i think it may have been £63

  • 129.99 at musicians friend 169.99 for the one with two guitar ins and an xlr in as well

  • Can I record the guitar if I have juste the POD?^^

  • First I must say that your videos is amazing! Second, I got a question. I'm going to buy a "Terratec Phase X24 FW" soundcard. Do you know if it's possible to connect a pod to that sound card and play through the pod? My amp is broken so I can't play through that :P

  • I've found an interesting thing..

When you sing, you sound like mustaine very much but when you speak, like hetfield,, You thinks so too? :)

  • he is their ethnic love-child!

  • me personal think this is way to much work for a recording for youtube.

    anyway your amazing man

  • much work indeed but this dude is skilled :P

  • Awesome stuff Mark. Thanks for the 3 park of vids.

  • Awesome dude, Goodluck with the shreder search i hope you win.

  • Forgot to ask... what cab are you using? Cant read it from here! Thanks if you can be arsed awnsering mate. \m/_

  • Good tips in there man. Think i'll go try out your tone with my les paul. \m/_

  • hey halcyon im gettin a "M-Audio black box" next week and do u know any thing about it..... does it have that same stuf?

  • pattycaker1508 unfortunately i haven't tried out or know anyone anything about the M-Audio black box u mentioned, but i think it will be just as good - if not better than the toneport ux series

  • yeah... thanks man

  • RESPECT!

  • Awesome video. I have a toneport GX. Its pretty awesome.

  • shiiit fucking cool...

  • respect my man...AWESOME WORK...

  • wow you put a lot of effort into that tone but I guess thats why it sounds perfect!

  • i have been waiting for this lesson such a long time. 1 question for mr mark. u use cakewalk sonar for drum track and bass track? i really like ur drum sound, it is so real. it is only sonar or u add something to make it more real? really need to know it...

  • well the drum samples are run under the Sonar - velocity plug-in (velocity is a drum sampler) - i have all sorts of drum 'fonts' if you will - that i accumulated over the years - i just run that through the sampler and i can get a pretty detailed drum sound - i do it the old school hard way - but you should check out - EZdrummer that's a killer drum plug-in(although i don't use it very much)

  • fancy

  • how do you sync together the video and the recroded in sound from your guitar to pc?

  • Hi Mark, I really enjoyed these vids about a little piece of your life. Cheers, take care.

locx, the same locx from Dean Forum

  • halcyon1871 ... You are just simply a God.

  • i have that same toneport

  • toneports are kickass(cheap and reliable)-

of course i would rather have a real amp and a cabinet but i can't afford real mesa boogies or anything like that (getting the

razorback almost put me out on the streets haha!)

  • i have one question if u would mind answering, wut are your setting wen you do most of your pantera songs? just real basic you dong have to go into it too deeply

  • Great tutorial, I'll definately look to buy something like that when I start recording my stuff, I'll be looking forward to your new videos.

    Keep it cool.

  • that echo makes you sound like the guitar god from guitar hero 3

  • Well, he is a guitar god ;)

  • Hm, I really want to record my guitar on PC but my PC (2,4 gig) is too slow for a Line 6 UX. T_T

It seems you have a good/fast PC.

  • nah bro i have a pc that's maybe just a little better than yours - pentium 5 2.8 with 768 of ram! it's a bit slow but i get on with it:) i saved up for a new pc so hopefully next year i can get a better one !

  • I use the same program to mix up my stuff

Its called Cool Edit, its an awsome program wich works very very good,u can nearly have studio quality.

  • Wow incredible how much work you invest to get it perfect

  • you don't use an amp? cool.

Do u actually HAVE an amp thou? if so wat kind?

  • all of my videos are either POD2.0(which i don't have anymore), recorded direct with digitech rp21d or toneport ux1 - i do have a dorky little practice amp my mom bought for me 10 years ago(100$) but i never use it! i still have it tho

  • wow
