  • protesting this year cause i dont think there wont be auctual Tejano bands This year at the rodeo in houston tx. R. i. P. johnny "El Brujo" Cruz

  • This year 2012, i hope to hear that there will be actual Tejano bands this year at the rodeo in Houston. cuzz its called Go Tejano Day, so make it Tejano, its not a problem to choose country bands, so y is it a problem to choose the Tejano bands. Tejano is not dead, its a culture that started in Texas and will never die cuzz i wont. Que viva La musica Tejano y La Accordon, un grito. R. i. P. "El Brujo" johnny cruz

  • Im not a tejano fan and im not bashing tejano. But it all boils down to the mighty dollar. If you cant fill the reliant arena then your not gonna be put on that rotating stage.Im Mexican and I have enjoyed the past tejano days for the mexican selection.Especially Banda el Limon.I hope something gets worked out for all of you Tejano fans.

  • Viva Sunny Ozuna

  • TEJANO SUX

  • To michaelwuzthere- Country Western Music is nothing but Mexican Music in English. Rodeo means roundup, Cowboy or Buckaroo are the closest they could get to vaquero. La Rieta, Lariet. Juzgado, Hoosgow. The entire Country Western Culture is Mexican!!! It's a stolen Culture. Comprende?

  • Man guys i love tejano and also norteno! But on this video lil Joe only sang one tejano song.. the rest were english songs. how are they ever gonna bring it back with this! Play some moving songs soemthing that will make u move!! I say bring jaime y los chamacos to the rodeo great show band for a concert and everyone loves los chamacos including norteno lovers!!

  • My fault as to Little Joe, I was not properly prepared with my camera that I took videos with, he sang quite a few songs in Spanish.

  • This year the rodeo set a new record for attendance, Ramon Ayala, I first saw him when he was a part of Los Relampagos, as Tejano as one can get, now called Norteno. Saw Los Relampagos in Corpus Christi, Domingo Pena Productions.

  • This year the Rodeo set a new record for attendance with Ramon Ayala and Alacranes Musical. The rodeo people are learning that whether the music in norteño or Tejano that the music will draw crowds. For the younger crowd norteño music sounds more like the Tejano music of the 50's, 60's and 70's then Tejano music does. The record crowd of 74,147 beat the record set by Hannah Montana/Cyrus. This was on a day that was cold and rainy. Tejano/Norteño music is back.

  • this my first time ever seeing this video and i like it cuz lil joe just gets down. i agree with alamo 1744 tejano music has gone underground. me and my bros are from CA, but my jefes are from tejas. to me personally tejano music is chicano music. it represents for the chicanos.

  • We called ourselves Chicanos because the only Mexican in us was left in Mexico many many years before by our ancestors, for some like my family it was Spain when they settled here in what is now Texas. I still resent that they label us and then expect us to be like them.

  • how rediculous. i'm not trying to put down tejano, but the whole protest thing is awful. it's a rodeo; country music should be dominate. it's not a mexican fiesta.

  • shows how stupid you are, Tejano music is not mexican music. Tejano music was created my people of Spanish speakers in the southern part of Texas, therefore the name, Tejano. People forget that the United States came here when many of our ancestors were already here. In fact people like Sam Houston and David Crockett were illegals as Mexico had passed a law prohibiting Americans from entering Mexico in 1830.

  • awesome!

    long live tejano

  • This rodeo isn't an isolated event. Tejano culture has been driven back underground by the constant wave of Mexican culture and their brand of music. Most Mexicans I have come across do not care about Tejano music; many of them actually hate it.

I appreciate this video and yes, Tejano will never die.

  • Thanks for the clip Barrera, Tejano music will never die......... it is not just music...... it is tradition, culture and a way of life......

  • This concert must have been awsome ! I live in Yuma,Az in a few weeks we will see Lil JOe at his concert. The younger generations like him jsut as much . Thank you for sharing this clip. Keep it coming Tejano Proud !

  • four hours of great music, I was not prepared or I would have many more clips, did not take my extra battery and memory.

  • Awsome video wish I could have been there to support.

  • This video or the message must really offend some one(s), por que? I keep having to reject messages. It is Good Friday so I will pray for them, that they find peace.

  • What is this protest about? Emilio and Little Joe arent getting play time? The truth of the matter is that while there is good Tejano music out there, the Reliant Stadium is not going to bring someone who isnt going to bring in the money. This past "Go Tejano Day" they broke record, close to 71,000 people. DO yo honestly think a "tejano" group will do that? "Tejano" is anyone here in Texas not just this style of music.

  • If you are sending a message that is unsubstantiated and only want to rant and rave because you disapprove of the concert don't bother typing, it will not be posted. Especially when people refer to complaints as the female term for a dog, at least get an education first and use proper english.

  • maybe im wrong the biggest USA beer company wants to show their against the hispanic market,or better yet MEXICAN market that they so much sponsor...wow.

    but thats not the point.

Did you know that the hideout had tejano music. ram herrera, and others live, ok so maybe it was not on the reliant, but you cant say tejano was taken out, there was tejano music on the rodeo.

anyway i dont think this is the way to do this.

i just think youre making some comunity's angry..

    anyway good luck.

  • this footage is from a diferent event.

budlight would have never sponsor a protest...

    not the image they want.

for the tejano fans...this is not the way to get tejano artist back in the rodeo.

    dont you think.?

  • I know how to edit film, but I would not go to the trouble of adding a bud sign on the back, look at the signs carried by the people there. Live event and some of the money from the sale of the beer went toward the organization that sponsored the event. Boycott the rodeo, not even taking kids to the carnival this year. When they take Western music out of the rodeo, I will say they are being fair.
