  • let me just say honning after a pac is very dangerous id chue his ass to the floor thank god for real principles

  • That looks like downward energy. And isn't the pak sao a little too excessive? I thought efficiency and wasted motion fit in to the principles of JKD?

  • Standing static with little to no resistance, seems like a weak drill. But, it reminds me never to cross wrists with a JKD fighter & recoil my strikes... lol

  • This is good.......for the nah sayers......you complain about the focus mitt but not the wooden dummy with three short arms and no elbows or wrists ???? It all works. Its drills people.................

  • OMG I FINALLY KNOW WHAT LAP SAO IS!!!!! FINALLY!!!

I've been practicing wing chun for so long and i have pretty much internalized all 5 of the 6 base blocks and can use them reactively and even counter with the opposite hand (tan sao with my right and knife-fist with my left.. e.t.c.). But i never got lap down pact because i didnt really know it, only pak, tan, jum, bong, and wu. FINALLY!!!!!!

  • this is why i painted an human body on a pillar in my house so i can hit it

  • im getting rather ill watching people claiming this as jkd. its ving tsun. thats all. and to further illustrate my point it is so misunderstood that the tech. has deteriorated. to further explain my point i will go on to say that pak sau, and gam sau are two different tech. shown above. occupying centerline with foot at that angle is vulnerable. walking in with elbow placement on that angle is vulnerable. why? because its watered down without the principle tech. itll work but against expert no

  • not that good

  • hi,

how did you get to train with tim tacket and the crew ?

  • very nice, anything that adds an air of realism to training makes for better training.

  • To much weight on the front foot look at your head it move is as you strike.I do like your training methods

  • You need to apply everything here so you know how it works. Even beginners should feel some pain, so they have an idea how strong it could get. And the focus mitts even very close to the face, contradicts the understanding of hitting at the centerline.

  • This isn't wing chun, in case you didn't read the title. This is a drill and in the real world people aim for the face. And no, beginners are not ready to feel pain. First comes proper form, then attributes training, then slowly they are introduced into combat realities.

  • i never said anything to a horiontal fist. And yes beginners should feel pain. Not all because if this guy hits him really hard he is knocked out. but he needs an idea how strong the traps can get, even if the idea is to clear the centerline softly.

  • @boomaloco thats what sparrings for

  • @soetsme You are a duche. Beginners should be feeling and learning everything as soon as they are in class. Otherwise it is not practical. Remeber that this also is not a traditional martial art. Why hold out on your students? You are only cheating them by not giving them the tools they are there to learn from day one. Your not learning forms A-hole your learning Street Smart Self-Defense.

  • Anyone who says "Ho ho ho" to anything has a lot of learning to do. Watch it again and learn something. First, this isn't wing chun and it isn't "wannabe JKD" taught by someone who got a certificate at a seminar and used it as a credential. Notice they're not in wing chun stances and he uses a horizontal fist to explain control over the punch but then we he does demonstrate it is a vertical fist. I always used to get such a kick out of the old, "Oh oh, his pinky's not in the right place."

  • I know this isn't Wing Chun. It looks like JKD to me. It's not smooth though. His Pak Sao or whatever he's doing, all looks great. But not "suddle."

  • this is the inside fighting measure yes?

  • Could we youtubers see some more please?

  • Good but why not just use a padded helmet so that you can have both hands free and actually punch where the head is?

  • That's a good idea but headgear like that doesn't exist yet. It would have to cover the face to the point where you couldn't see too well, and mainly it wouldn't support your neck, so you could get a whiplash. The focus mitt approach is inexpensive and it works.

  • You're right the neck would need more support. I didn't really think of that probably because my punch is not yet that strong haha. Take care.

  • @soetsme There does exist head gear with clear screen plastic that covers almost all of the head, we use them, instead of punching focus mitts to one side. have a hunt on the web, they arent that expensive for a serious practioner.
