  • better than james franco i believe.

and just because this movie wasnt popular doesnt mean it wasnt good

  • One of the most touching narratives ever. It is true for all of humanity to develop strong bonds of love. The world has to learn what this means though, it seems they have forgotten.

  • Wow! It's hard to believe that Stephen McHattie also played the role of Billy Stafford in "Life with Billy". Great actor, he should be recognized more!

  • I saw this movie in 1982, when I was just fourteen. I loved it then and it has stayed with me ever since - Stephen McHattie is outstanding. Thanks so much for sharing this.

  • A friend of mine send to me this video !

    I had before seen !

Thank you very much for Stphen McHattie !!!

  • excellent scene!! :)

  • I shall be uniQUE in all the world. Hey. I like the actor, but he looks like a man, and James still looked like a boy.. ' Cause he was....

  • Stephen McHattie is the Roland Deschain of the dark tower. he look in youngtime 100% to Roland and he look´s in alltime if Roland. He is Roland.

    STEPHAN MCHATTIE

  • I love this movie, Stephen McHattie is so underrated. This scene is so good. I prefer him to James Dean. I would love to meet him just to tell him how much I admire him as an actor. Have you seen his new movies Pontypool and Summer Of Love?

  • @TheNicholas0202 fuck yeah i know stephen mchatti is amazing under rated talent!!..i would love to meet him to and let him know his role as portrayin james dean touched me deeply!!!...haha watch him in salvation did u say your prayers today?...its goood!!

  • UNlike james dean. his acting is more oldfashioned than dean's. unMysterious. too bad, i actually like stephen mchattie, a good character actor usually, he has a cool face.

  • Is he supposed to be portraying THEE James Dean in this clip??? God,i hope not! Some people should just NOT try to be immatated or made into a movie....James Dean being one of them.

  • he looks more like luke perry

  • This is one of my favorite scenes in the history of film! Simply great. You don't happen to have the clip where he touches the girl's amputated leg do you? What did she say, "Nobody's ever had the guts to do that before" as she's about to cry. He gives her a ride home on his motorcycle. That scene is classic too. Well, there are many scenes that are classic in this movie. Thanks for posting this one.

    Rolland B. Heiss

  • he really plays james dean well.. :D

  • I met Stephen McHattie many years ago and sat and talked with him in an actor's bar in L.A. He seemed to be a very nice and intelligent man, but this acting STINKS!!!

  • wow... this is excelent. I'll have to watch this.

  • what a great actor..it's like seeing Jimmy

  • No, it's not!!

  • Wonderful clip....

  • I love Stephen McHattie!!! :D He's great actor!

  • This dude scares the crap out of me. I read this part in Surviving James Dean - William Bast is a good writer, the closest friend and confidant of Dean, called James - Deaner - James called him Willy - drove bast in crazy, but Dean was his best friend of five years. I think this Actor is trying too hard at acting, its quite terrible.

  • bill bast wrote or produced this movie, that's what I read in his book "surviving james dean"

  • something happened... the video is not showing :( Its one of my favorites :(((

  • I thought he was going to be the next Brando after Centennial.

    Great actor.

  • I'd love to see the whole movie and it's rather hard to get hold of it here in UK. Would it be possible if you could upload the whole thing? Pretty please :-)

  • Thank you so very much for uploading this.

  • Great reading by Stephen McHattie. I've read this passage many times at memorial services for good friends...."A very simple secret..."

  • I had such a crush on Stephen McHattie in the seventies. I first saw him in the TV-series "Centennial". Just loved him.

  • i know he was great in centennial

  • i just rewatched this movie. I had to, James Dean is everything.

  • is there anywhere i can watch this whole movie???

  • that's Stephen McHattie as Dean in the telepic based on Bill Bast's book. I think it was made in the late seventies.

  • Hi Ryan,

This is my favourite part from that JD movie as well. Stephen is really at his best in this bit, I think it is one of the best films about JD. This is going in my favourites, thanks for posting it. Rip Jimmy.

  • i have this on video it was based on james and his friend there.. it gives me the creeps because there is scenes of a dream his friend keeps on having after james dies.

  • What do you suppose it means? The passage?

  • audreysmakeup it means that once you are attached to someone like the way the little prince was to the fox you feel the need responsible for whatever happends to him.

  • This is one of the best Dean bio. films made-even though it's an older film. The actor(not sure of his name)looks very much like Dean after he had been in New York and Hollywood for awhile- he even has the hair down pat!

  • Barely anybody knows about this film, but the acting in this scene is just so good.

  • thank yo moulinrye :-) i was not aware that james dean starred in a movie where he narrated a part of my favourite book "the little prince" how i wish we are neighbors so i could borrow the video from you. In one of morrissey's music videos, morrissey was reading the book. a million thanks :-)

  • Thank you so much for putting this up! I love it! I'd never seen this before. I wish I could see the whole thing. I love Jimmy, and The Little Prince, so much. :)

  • You are so welcome! You know where it is very easy to find, at dollar stores lol. I have gotten a few differnt copies of it from a few. Walmart had it once, and CVS Pharmacies also had it all for $1. I will be sure to post more clips and I plan on making a music video with clips from this movie(Thought it would be differnt having a video about James Dean without the real Jimmy)

  • Oh really? That's cool. I'll look around for it, for sure. I'm about to watch your other videos. :)

  • I watched this movie a long time ago! You just put my favourite part of the film. It's stephen mchattie playing Jimmy and Michael Brandon playing Bill Bast. Thanks so much for posting...I missed watching the film over the years! Five stars and straight to my favourites!!

  • Isn't this part really amazing? His acting is so great here! You can just picture the real Jimmy doing that...as always thank you!
