We will always need Oil but we dont need to burn it in our cars 100%of the time.
I know people will say the electric power plants pollute the air, but it can be easy to clean up some power plants then millions of cars and this will help with national security.(We will not need to start more wars for oil) and also the electricity is made in the US
We need EREV like the volt and 200C EV now!! This type of Extended Range Electric can be a bridge for battery technology. I know about the Texaco NiMH battery scandal but as we gat a mass produced EREV then EV technology will be in place and ready for the next battery technology (After Texaco patient runs out) So we need to get behind this and stop looking back
whopty f#@ing do Chrysler can make concept cars until the cows come home , just at a guess it will be over priced the adverts will be witty but short lived and hum over priced spare parts o yea an inability to keep up with demand that about explains Chrysler
when will people learn that hybrids are not the way of the future? they are made with environmentally harmful materials, they don't really get great gas mileage, and every 5-7 years, the battery pack needs to be replaced for $7,000.
in europe, the average diesel engine gets around 40-60 mpg, something the prius cannot do. in fact, in europe, the jeep patriot diesel gets 52 mpg while the prius only gets 45!!!!!
That may be so, but Europeans like diesels, Americans prefer petrol it seems, as do the Japanese driver. So Japan builds diesels for Europe and hybrids for home and the US. However diesel hybrids are on the way. To me a hybrid is a way to get a car to get similer milage around town as it gets on the highway. If you drive lots of highway milage it is a waste of money, if your driving is mostly round town then it will save you money but will cost more to begin with. For highway give me a diesel.
i wonder what the cost ratio of gas vs gas/electric home charging cost will be? If I only have to put $20 in the tank but my home eletric bill per month is $??? then whats the overall cost. How about the battery replacements time frame. If you need 2 batteries in 5 years (loan time) what does that equate to? i am worried the hybrids will be more costly to the consumer. I think.
instead we have gas rio $12860 in 5yrs n hybrid rio(not exist, based on est. math) $19943.8 in 5yrs,however, tax reduction is not included for the hybrids.
This approach reminds me somewhat of the 2010 Taurus, although it looks more integrated... As for Chrysler producing it, I'm not too sure given their financial status right now...
"Expect to see this look on future Chryslers." - Maybe...if they don't go bottoms up! Couldn't they come up with something for the tail lights rather than red blobs?
Throw an "inline4 turbo" in it any we got a deal... Electric? No thanks...

I also think we need a EREV without all the bells a gadgets that drives up the piece, just make a dam EREV for under $28K

I thought it was Chevron that brought the patent for larger NiMH then killed production of them by Panasonic for the then Rav4E.

hybrids r for green people,not gas/$squeezer.
typical gas cars~15cent/mi
total electric~2-5cent/mi
ex:my kia shit rio~
$11/week*52wks*5yr+0mainteance+10000pricetag
=$2860
hybrids~says (.05/.15)cent=33%morefueleff.
$11/week*33%*52wks*5yr+7000mainteance+ 25000pricetag=$32943.8
So we have gas rio $12860 in 5yrs n hybrid rio(not exist, based on est. math) $32943.8 in 5yrs.
hope it helps.(all r rough est.)
