Hey guys, ive got a set of VCT Messino 20's from a Taurus that have a 5x108 BP 1 tire is good 3 are shot looking to get $500 OBO live in MA locally preferred, they will fit a Lincoln LS. let me know if your interested.
I got the wheels from Ebay few years ago. They pop up once in a while but rarely. Over in this video the car is lowered on Eibachs and it wasn't very low, now I lowered it with Spring springs up front and same Eibachs in the back. Went dow I would say about 1.75".
I will send you a link to some pictures thru your PM box.
I have a 2001 LS and ive been looking to lowering it and all i have found is the eibach springs and thats not enough for me. where did you get your second set of springs and for how much?
hey i have a 2001 ls and i have been thinking of lowering it and the eibachs springs dont lower it enough, where did you get your second set of springs and for how much?
i was going to get my ls lowered with the eibach spings but it would have costed like $600 installed for a 1.5inch drop that i probably wouldnt even notice, for another $100 i could get a full body kit and install it myself. Ur LS looks nice though! :)
@89TTP Forget the body kit. Get springs for $300 and lower yourself. Go get a 4 wheel alignment at the dealer for $90. There you have it. Less gap and looks 10x better then any body kit.
sales were getting really miserable. by 2005, Lincoln could only sell 1 LS for every 10 Cadillac CTSs. they replaced it with the MKZ, which has faired much better (though they still can't outsell Caddy). however the new full-size MKS outsells the Cadillac STS handily and the crossover MKX outsells its Caddy counterpart.
Ya you are right also government fuel regulations made ford to stop making these cars because they would probably had downsize the motor and that would have result in no sales at all. Fuel mileage are horrible on mine 12 city and 20 hwy.
@legendsaleem Damn i thought mine was bad!!! Mine gets 15.4 mpg city/20mpg Hwy in the summer. I was going to get a trans am before i bought my ls, but i didnt think id be able to offord the gas in it, so i got n LS (one of the other cars on my list) thinking that fuel mileage would be at least 19-20 mpg city. I dont regret it though, its a luxury car with more power than your average everyday driver.
what series are your tires mane? I'm tryna go 10-20" w/a 35 series....you think 35 would be safe (getting bent up on the road and speed bumps) or should I go w/a 40?
whole unit... small little problem however i took it into a ford dealership and lucked out because the manager there loved this car so much he fixed it for free. its a shame they stopped production of this car.... I was convinced that they were gonna buff up the power and make it able to contend with M5's and mercedes Benz
I could definantly see a new model with more power and updated interior in comp with the 330i/IS350/CTS, I dream of the day lincoln fires the slackers.
nice lookin LS man.... I installed new Xenon headlamps and the left side somehow got moisture in it and ended up fogging up a whole lot. ended up taking off the whole unit and found a little crack in the top of the
Ya that is common problem with LS mine were both cracked at the bracket mount on the back. Use JB Weld that stuff in flexible so it will stand the vibration.
Nice car! Love that color and the ride height looks perfect. Those are 2004 StypeR wheels, yes? Are they staggered-wider in the rear? What size tires? How did you find them? Thanks for sharing. I have an '02 LSE.
Thanks. These are from 05-08 S-type R wheels. 18x8 and 18x9.5 with 245/40/18s and 275/35/18s. No fitting problems, fits like original wheels even the emblem from 00-02 sport wheels fit. I bought em new on Ebay, they show up once in a while.
Wrong my friend, that VW is pretty good, stock 0-60 in 6.4 seconds and 14.7 in 1/4 miles, faster than most LSs, it runs just with the 03-06 V8 in stock too.
These are original headlights with removed amber part. You gotta open up the headlight and remove the amber, or have a shop do it for you. Common mode.
well so why do people lower their cars? what does that do?.... i understand lowering a truck or SUV, so u reduce the possibility of the car rolling over...
but why lower a sedan; an already low car?? does it make it faster does it make it turn better what does it do??
Well, it lowers the center of gravity, also the aftermarket lowering springs are stiffer so you get less body roll and that all leads to better handling.
But, more importantly it makes the gap between the wheels and car less so the car looks much better.

when you lower a car, what exactly does that do???
gr8tkrispykid 4 years ago
I don't see why it would damage it, it's only 1.1" drop.

gr8tkrispykid 4 years ago
Not really, it's not lowered much, only 1.1".
